2:05 god I hope not 4:28 Only a few people asked for 1 on 1 feedback, but it was a good reality check for me to see what people got hung up on (or what I classified as an issue that was total bullshit) After grading the portion of the test that I wrote (practical part), it became clear that there were two big problems 1. Subjective issues and weighting: Subjective issues matter differently to the various player cultures, so how much are they really worth? This became more clearly a problem after doing some 1 on 1's 2. Language barrier: Modders who usually don't mod in English could have trouble putting their feedback down, making it a much harder test for them to take. Because of that, I looked at the things test takers were pointing out, not so much how they were wording them.
can definitely relate to the "not a bn = your mods don't count as much" thing - i've been put off from modding a map a couple times in the past because the last couple posts on the thread were from BNs/etc, and what's essentially a random guy popping up in the middle of the conversation would be... weird.
6:52 holy shit I felt something in my gut die when I saw those new combo sliders what the fuck you'll kill the hp drain don't do that aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Your mods are always as valuable no matter if you got that tag or not. Not that I ever had one but im pretty sure it would make most mappers happy to get one.
hanairo biyori biyori is still not linked in the description of the video about score v2 and the 9:00 map in ranking process as well keeping the tradition alive
Can you make a video about "map structure" I see lots of people talking about how some maps don't have structure, but I don't really get how to structure a map. I know different concepts but Idk how to apply them to make a "well structured map"
Why not make the limit for new bn nominations/year to be 10 and give each mapper who got the 20 best scores in the first section join the second, making it sorta impossible to cheat and discouraging mappers to help each other
Nifty osu! You can't really compare every new mapper to this. There are apparently new mappers out there who actually are *willing* to learn from their mistakes right from the get go, but troubleshooting by find this mistakes an their own.
I know this is a bit subjective, but how high quality must my mods be to be consider being a bn? I been modding for years but this time I actually took the time to get better for the past 5 months - been modding over 20 mods a month and having been improving more and more (bringing unrankable issues, explaining the problem and give suggestions, etc). It just that seeing some std new bns got in being sorta questionable (not naming none of course) whilst some good modders still didn't get in even after the test is gone kind of makes it hard to tell on what it takes lol.
 Well how do you think your mods impact the mappers, do they change stuff plenty of times, are they big changes (like remapping certain part), do you give examples, do you prepare counterarguments by guessing what might they say in the defense of your point etc.
Depends on the map/mapper - lately I have brought up counterarguments when I bring up my points and for the most part I am able to convinced the mapper to a degree on what to change. Even if they do not agree with my reason, they still consider it as a good point and leave it open for other opinions to come by. I do give examples and suggestions and sometimes make it as simple enough for the mapper to understand my point (even bring a picture when obviously needed) I do bring up about remapping in some form and I also bring up spreading issues (needed a new difficulty, explaining why the insane is such a huge jump from the hard, etc) I bring up most unrankable issues I can spot I still do questionable points here and there (who doesn't?) but overall most of my mods do come out as helpful to both experience and new mappers alike. I pretty much ask because how everyone was picked out during BN std sign ups with bn test gone last time and just a bit worried that all of this i'm doing be almost for nothing ya know (I suppose it always next time but still...)
Its never a good thing to no-life anything. you gotta keep a good balance of everything you want to do, which is why only mapping is a bad idea. play the game to have a little bit of balance. On your last point in the video, concerning "most people dont stick around for that long", if people put in a continuous effort in modding and mapping over a long period of time, they should get recruited/asked to join the BN, rather than applying
Hey there, Krisom here. Im wondering if people Who fail the tests bu a small margin should be able to apply in a shorter ammount of time (lets say, 1 month) if the NAT sees potential in them. Giving guidance to these potential BNs would also help lots

Try to review some ranked maps that you see as "structured" for you.

Also give each of those 20 best different maps, there should be enough people to make the problems :v
9:35 Oh look! ‘Spring Day’! Nice nice!
Oh look K-Pop fan! Gay gay
Monstrata isn't a BN anymore btw.
Doesn't even wish merry Christmas 🤔🤔🤔
ik current BN promotion look at mod history. But do they even look at the modded map? & the answer from the mapper?
the reply doesn't matter, cause bad mappers will reject anything they find illogical with their ill logic
Nifty osu! thats why looking at the modded map is useful
