  • Fishing Blue Wing Olive mayflies are a must on the BOW River since this is one of the more prolific hatches. Fish will stage during the hatch where there are deflections and calmer water. Stay to the end for a few tips to get a better chance of hooking a trout.

    I fished that section of the Bow River in the 1980s! Olive mayflies worked then too! The river has sure been changed a lot since then.......

      Try anywhere south of the water treatment plant. The west bank is your best bet! Learn when the bugs hatch, and write down your successful days! The hatching schedule repeats year to year somewhat. Also, stay late for the caddis bite. That happens most nights in July.....
