Another great video Chris! I’m saving my little Aussie butt off in order to come back and visit the South Bay! Boy and the Bear was recommended to me for my trip in 2019 but i didn’t get a chance to check it out. Will do this time.

This place has really grown up since I was visiting my dad who lived here in the mid-1970s. My stepbrother, brother, and I used to walk there almost every day. We all got arrested one time for pier climbing under the pier. $15 dollar fine for each one of us. We were looking for sinkers that got wrapped around the cross members. Used to body surf inside the horseshoe. Ate at the restaurant where Batman was trying to get rid of a bomb in the 1966 Batman movie. Watched guys jump off the pier diving for coins. Used to be a huge arcade behind the parking lot and a WWII submarine to tour too. Some great summer days there that's for sure.
Ack I grew up on Redondo and Torrance Beaches, that bike path, Palos Verdes in the distance...Redondo Beach Pier and King Harbor, Riviera Village! I left in 1987 so it's a little different now ha! Thank you so much for posting this video!

I grew up in Southern California. I was born at South Bay Hospital 🏥,then I grew up in Torrance CA. Lived in Torrance CA till I turned 17yrs old. My Dad was transferred to his companies headquartered in New York so we moved. But I remember the Best thing about Southern California is definitely 😁 the friendly people.
However, do you have any problems with the Homeless people, or trash on the Beach ⛱️🏖️?
When I was a little kid we didn't, and there was plenty of Police 🚓 presence.
How is it now?

Hey Steven... homelessness is certainly an issue in Southern California for sure... but I think Redondo Beach handles it pretty well compared to places like Venice Beach
@@YellowProductions I couldn't agree 💯 more with you. When I was Married I took my new wife and son(2yrs old)& my infant daughter to Santa Monica/Venice for a walk along the espanade and my son was accosted by a homeless man and it was a scary situation for all of us.
Oh and I noticed that the "Traveling Princess"falls asleep in the Car 🚗 like my little "Princess"use to. My little "Champ" he hardly ever did. He always told me that he didn't want to miss anything.
He especially liked when we took the Lancaster/Palmdale CA Train 🚂 Trip from Home into Los Angeles Union Station.
You should try the trip to go out and see The Desert 🏜️ and see when the California Poppies are in Bloom.
It's quite spectacular to see.

Oh and maybe when the Traveling Princess is a little bit older maybe 🤔 you could taking a trip to my former city of Greensboro NC and take a tour of the Largest China Crystal Silverware etc - Replacement's Ltd for a tour through their fabulous Showroom. It's quite an interesting 🤔 experience. They have over 5+0000,00 different patterns of China Crystal Silverware etc it's mind blowing.
So give it a thought 🤔🤔.

So sad that the Redondo Fun Factory closed down. It was right across from Quality Seafood Market. Childhood memories were made there. Traveling Princess would’ve loved it. ❤️

I had nice memories of this beach my mom and her friends would take us when we visited. Back in early 70s.
The size of that hotel room is equivalent to a whole hotel floor in Japan with like 18 rooms and 2 restaurants

Sorry, just like the Willis Tower will always be the Sears Tower for Chicagoans, Crypto.xom arena will always be the Staples Center for me. When L.A. Live was only a large parking lot circa 2002, my mom , friend of hers and I stood in the sun for 5 hours with 250,000+ of our fellow Lakers fans for the Lakers third in a row championship parade. . I've never been to the Grammy. museum either. I believe that Pau.Gasol while he played with the Lakers and Luke Walton both owned restaurants in the South Bay. Pau's restaurant was Spanish , given he's from Barcelona. The next time you you're in the area, try the Bottle Inn for an Italian dinner in Hermosa Beach. The good is really good, I've been several times with family friends who are practically regulars there

How is it with safety on that beach? If its that close to South Central LA, how about robberies and other such dangers? I'm not talking about pick pocketing and things you get everywere, but violent crime?
I think Redondo Beach is generally quite safe
Greetings Chris, I am really enjoy watching the new star of the show, “The Traveling Princess.” I have never eaten a Sea Urchin, however, if you ever go snorkeling or scuba diving hopefully you will have a dive knife for freeing yourself in case you get tangled up in something. Another use for your knife and I know some people will say that’s wrong but slicing open a Sea Urchin under water.
There were absolutely no fish in this area but there were hundreds of Sea Urchins. A fellow diver sliced one open and it was like a cartoon. Fish materialized out of no where and gobbled up the inside of that urchin in seconds and disappeared that quick. So, I went around slicing up some urchins and it was amazing all of the fish that were attracted to these urchins in seconds.

Hi Chris. Thanks for the Redondo Beach tour. The hotel is great and the room is nice. Such a great family friendly beach with lots of activities to do. I agree that the you picked the perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful sunset. The food ant the hotel looked so delicious. . The best part for me was watching you eat the sea urchin. I was so jealous watching you enjoying that sea urchin. A great place for a staycation. Take care.
