Their vehicle should be limited to resource consumption = median of that consumed by passenger cars (not including trucks) operating on the road in this state. We'll call it the Hypocrisy Reduction Act. I'm headed up the 395 to Tahoe in a couple days. The gas in my car now I paid $5.19.9/gallon. Current price in Palmdale is $5.79.9. Meanwhile, Social Security payments have increased around 1%/year and over the last 3 years Medicare payments (which are mandatory) have increased by 1/3. Now...While you're complaining about what a dump Needles is (no, I've never lived there, but been through a few times and stopped a couple) has clean streets, no homeless visible, the only visible graffiti is the high school seniors' celebration of their class in apparently officially approved fashion. I see a small, neat, clean city with no crowding. Far better place than ANY major city I've seen in recent years. Yeah. Summer is hella hot. Winters comfy. Don't turn the place into a San Francisco, LA, Chicago or New York.
Needles too hot for homeless for about 4 months of the year. There is a gray hound station that dumps them off the other 8 months here. There is no local economy other than weed grow houses and dispensaries. It's your typical border town much like Blythe CA. People live in these towns to collect the government cheese that California offers and Arizona doesn't. Enjoy that 395 drive. I did it about a month ago. Anything above bishop will be over $7 a gallon. It is beautiful in certain places in California but very painful to tolerate the politics and chaos that is there. The pendulum swings hard both ways in that state. I just hope Arizona doesn't adopt their Bs and the people that move here don't California Arizona.
In 2005 My wife went to Missouri to visit family, she told me how cheap everything was and I felt stupid. California isn’t the only nice place to live, we sold our house and left San Diego for the Ozarks in 2007. We can afford to eat at them fancy 5 star restaurants now and not even think about it, got a house twice as big for a quarter the cost. California is losing the middle class fast. When they realize hotels and restaurants are closing because theirs no one to work those positions it will be to late. I give it 20 years.
