- In About Being Careful, Ajahn Chah gave an insightful explanation of that is samadhi. In the Theravada school of Buddhism, some teachers teach right samadhi as the fourth jhana (fourth level of consciousness where it becomes equanimous while being absorbed). In this exposition, he explains that samadhi can happen when one is in formal meditation or daily activities and it clearly is not a jhana mental factor. He also skilfully taught how wisdom (by being mindful) can arise through contemplation of pain and suffering in the body.

Thank you!
My practice is simply to ignore the uninvited thoughts;
And to restrain our habitual reactions to every impulse.
Thank you so much ❤
This was really insightful. I especially appreciated your personal interpretations at the end, as a relatively new person to Ajahn Chah's teaching, I would really love to hear you speak more at length about them (as some youtubers go on extended rants)!
Hi, I'm glad the short reflection was helpful for you. Usually I read the texts as is as I reckon most people wouldn't be keen on personal reflections. Thank you for your feedback :)
Thanks for this ❤
