Unspeakable Peace: Dedication to the Practice by Ajahn Chah
This talk has a profound effect on me. I have an analytical mind and tended to think if I get my meditations 'right' with certain experiences I would be enlightened (LOL). I realised now that as Ajahn Chah said, this is a path of sincerity and the fruit of our practice is not about getting anything 'right' but how it opens our heart to love and wisdom. Love is the driver of practice to realise wisdom - love embraces, wisdom gives clarity to our choices.

Ajahn Lee The Basics of Breathing Part 2
Переглядів 55021 день тому
"When you spread the breath as you evaluate it, mindfulness runs throughout the body like an electric wire. Making yourself mindful is like letting the current run along the wire. Alertness is like the energy that wakes the body up. When the body is awake, pains can't overcome it. In other words, it wakes up the properties of earth, water, fire, and wind so that they get to work. When the prope...

The Electric Heart by Ajahn Lee Dhammadharo
Переглядів 76Місяць тому
In this talk, Ajahn Lee Dhammadharo relates the heart to the mind, saying everything moves so quickly like a machine that for some, they even insist there is no mind. For the untrained mind, the mind spins so quickly like an electric current that can catch fire. The Buddha knew the power of the mind, and taught us how to slow it down so that it doesn't burn us, or others. #meditation #mind #bud...
Smile at Fear: Overcoming Doubt (with personal reflection)
Переглядів 95Місяць тому
I was never drawn to Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche's books when I heard about him nearly 10 years ago. His book on spiritual materialism didn't resonate with me as well. But lately, I found his writings such as 'The Path is the Goal' and "Smile at Fear" which resonates. He gave a different description (from traditional concepts) about a warrior and how fearlessness is about opening the heart. #tibet...

The Essential Nature of the Citta
Переглядів 7743 місяці тому
In the Path to Arahantship, Luang Por Maha Boowa explains the nature of the citta (translated as heart/mind or just mind in this excerpt). The citta supports whatever energies are conditioned through the sense-bases. To truly know the citta, one meditates and experience it through samadhi, and learn to separate the citta from its own conditions such as the body, feelings, thoughts, perception a...

Self Effacement - MN 8

I've been reflecting on this discourse of the Buddha (Majjhima Nikaya 8), where Ven. Mahacunda asked the Buddha how someone who is beginning to practice lets go of all the views regarding the self and the cosmos. The Buddha started with how different meditators can come up with different perceptions of the self through practicing stillness, but meditation really only brings bliss and not total ...

How Mindfulness Helps Manage Anxiety Attacks
Breath sensation at the base of the skull and let it flow all the way down the spine and let it flow through the leg and out to the toes- could you please tell where the inhale begin and exhale begin? Thank you ❤
Hi, from my understanding, breath sensations are everywhere in the body. So in this sentence it means to place your attention at the base of the skull and feel the breath sensations moving down the spine. Usually people place their attention on the nostrils, but in this case, your attention is at the base of the skull. For me, I feel this sensation at the back of my head. Gradually I feel sensations in the crown of my head too.
Now I realise why they say meditation requires practise and continuity
Thank you.

Great work love it
getting three minute ads on this video.....absolutely awful
So sorry, I did not activate anything I think youtube just puts on ads when it has a certain number of views.
This was really insightful. I especially appreciated your personal interpretations at the end, as a relatively new person to Ajahn Chah's teaching, I would really love to hear you speak more at length about them (as some youtubers go on extended rants)!
Hi, I'm glad the short reflection was helpful for you. Usually I read the texts as is as I reckon most people wouldn't be keen on personal reflections. Thank you for your feedback :)
Thank you!
Who is the author of this dhamma talk? Thank you.
Hi, it's from the founder of Mindful Breath SG
I come back every week or so to listen again along with "the basics of breathing" and "keeping the breath in mind". Thank you for uploading these videos

it's good teaching of buddhism
Just found your channel and appreciate your efforts to share these vital resources on this platform. It's appreciated 😉
Useful.
When sit in dark and close my eyes and start breath work, wonderfull colors flow around my inner sight.
That's wonderful. But if you can, stay on the awareness of the colors flowing and not get caught in the colors.
Beautifully done! Thank you. Is great to hear the comparison you draw between buddhism and Vedanta. Thank you so very much.
I can't find any solution to boreout. If the work itself, or indeed all work, is boring to you then there seems no solution.
Thanks for this ❤

It seems reminiscent of techniques shared through Buddhist practice which are based in acheiving balance. This balance leads to the revealing.
Wonderful.
Text of this book was recommended for West audience by XVI Karmapa. There is translation of this book by Traleg Rinpoche which probably most important because was done by Rinpoche experiencing nature of mind so he knew what he is talking about. In my view subject of Mahamudra is best presented by Gendyn Rinpoche in book ,, Heart advice from Mahamudra master ,,. Big thanks for producing this vlog about Moonbeam of Mahamudra. All best and wishes of breakthrough into space of mind.!:)
Tergar Vajrayana Online uses the new text in it's introductory course on Mahamudra, which was translated under the guidance of Thrangu Rinpoche. They refer to Traleg R at the start of the course ( just at the start atm), possibly because his earlier translation was very significant to the current one. The impression I get overall when reading introductions on translations, besides translation preferences and variations is that translations often build upon the work of former translations and improve. As we are still in the early days of a lot of translations, terms and word and cross cultural understanding are still developing with regard to a lot of texts. That's a general understanding, as to how much it applies, who knows? Thrangu was a very significant scholar, I am just learning and Tulku Urgyen's children are very influential teachers, possible within the Tibetan community as well as published authors. They have a strong connection to the Karmapa, Thrangu was his teacher, I think, (still learning this stuff) and Urgyen was considered on of the great Yogi's. My guess is Traleg R and his translations are held in high esteem and this book is build upon his earlier translation. Sounds like a really missed out on studying with him back in the day as I am only now coming around to Mahamudra. Check out the Tergar course learning.tergar.org/course_library/vajrayana-online/mahamudra-course-home. Saddhu Saddhu Saddhu.
@@neemnyima2166 Thank You for deteiled answer. Concerning Urgyen Tulku Rinpoche just recently I gid read his book ,, As it is ,, vol 1. He said several times that state of liberation is very simple in a fact !!! Recently Mingyur Rinpoche gave public commentary to Tilopa ,, Ganges Mahamudra ,, which is very important text because Tilopa is pointing out identity of our mind as aware space . Such approach was never considered true in the West ! All best and quick breakthrough into space of mind for good of all beings !
Thank you 🙏
