My ex kept every single box that any electronic piece he ever bought came in. But then he would get rid of the piece and not the box. I just moved out of the house we lived in for 22 years and I had a storage room filled with empty electronic boxes. 🙄
I love older homes too. I just moved into an apartment that we think was built around 1950. It has a beautiful wooden floor throughout, oak doors and door jams, a back yard full of birds and a bunny and a squirrel. In the laundry room it has a build in ironing board. It is a dream come true and it is only a few blocks from the ocean in White Rock, BC. I hope you find an affordable place you love, if you don’t already live in one. They are out there. Probably even more in Edmonton.
@@eussoay Thanks. I had no idea about old computers being so collectible (I knew the really old original models were, but not later ones.) Fascinating.

Oh, cool! Those spoons with the rose at the end of the handle are called "Hildesheimer Rose" (Hildesheim is a city in Germany). I'm from Germany, and I actually have the whole set of tea spoons, cake forks, sugar tongs, cake servers and other pieces from this design. My mother gave them to me, and they had been a wedding gift from her first marriage. What a fun surprise to see pieces of the same design randomly show up in your video on the other side of the world! :-)
The tea caddy is an elephant. The different varieties of tea come in different coloured tins so you can build up a collection and have all the little elephants lined up on your shelf.

Alex- the house I grew up in had a "spirit" of a lady that "lived" in the house, too. When I would come home from high school, my job was to put laundry in the washer machine which was in the basement. I can't count how many times I heard someone walking across the kitchen floor (above the laundry room). There were times I would run upstairs thinking my parents came home early from work. But there was nobody there. I was still "alone". Fast forward to now: The son of the new owners of the house has "seen" the spirit lady. The little boy was in his room and was talking to his Dad when he stopped and pointed and said "Dad, who is that lady?" Of course, the Dad could not see "the lady", but somehow the little boy did. "The lady" was never malevolent, so living there was just slightly creepy but not scary. I feel badly the "lady" is stuck in the house.
My mom's best friend's old house had the spirit of an old woman who lived in the basement. You would hear the sound of a rocking chair nearly every night, but there wasn't a rocking chair up there. If anyone put anything in this one area, it would always be moved by the next day. Sometimes, if someone accidentally left the attic door open, the chimes hanging in the cutout between the kitchen and the living room would start going off. They would ring one chime at a time. It was wild. She was really sweet and enjoyed being talked to. She was never evil, but boy was she loud!
@Kat Brown Agreed. All the moving of belongings is a known trigger for spirit activity if, in fact, that’s what’s going on here. Oral Allergy Syndrome or OAS is also called pollen-food allergy syndrome. This syndrome is due to a “food allergy” caused by uncooked fruits, raw vegetables, spices and nuts. It is not an actual food allergy, but instead a reaction to certain foods that can develop in people with allergies to pollen. I took this from Wikipedia.

I have very bad allergies, especially right now my eyes are itching out of my head. Also, at certain times, I’ve eaten, for instance, yogurt with peaches in it, watermelon, Oranges and my throat starts closing up and I lose my voice for a short time. Most of the time they do not affect me that way. Weird.
How funny! Great minds run in the same channel. I can relate to what you said about Melissa’s mom making her brothers knit when they were in trouble. But it was a little different story at my house. When my three older grandchildren misbehaved at my house, I made them sit down and watch ME knit!! They couldn’t touch each other or talk to each other. They just had to WATCH ME KNIT while I relaxed doing something I enjoyed. It never lasted long before they all promised to stop bickering and “play nice.” I made believers out of them. When the younger grandchildren came along, the big kids warned them, “You better mind Grandma! If you don’t she’ll make you WATCH HER KNIT!!” Fort Worth TX Grandma
I have it too. I could eat anything but fresh. Canned, jam, cooked... even in the beginning of my allergy, I would just wait after cutting apples. That stopped working eventually.
Dang... Well, hopefully science can eventually progress to the point where whatever compounds trigger the reaction can be neutralized without cooking. Fresh fruit is awesome.
I my sister and I both have this. But our throats don’t close up it just burns and gets numb. My sister gets terrible blisters, one of our friends has much more extreme reaction
You have been soooo lucky with these funds! Boxes for electronics, and remotes. Owner’s manuals. The car key 🔑 was a miracle. You must have found the title because you already sold the car 🚙
Glad to see, but not surprised, that the contents are being shared among your family and friends Alex. At least this house is a bit cleaner so your allergies should be better this time around. Take care and stay safe and well. With best wishes from Down Under 😘💕🇦🇺
Bob has Oral Allergy Syndrome. This is due to a cross-reactivity of certain fruit or nuts to different pollen. Cooking the fruit must destroy the proteins that are cross-reactive. Poor Bob, but I am glad he has his Epi-Pen.
Rubbermate Totes! The 28-gallon ones are apparently out of production and are now very expensive. :( That's the size I use for self-irrigating-planters. So maybe you can make some money from the totes. :D
I say this with the utmost respect. Anytime someone enters a home whether due to urban exploration, hoard house cleaner after someone is deceased, estate selling, etc, I suggest before going in to pay homage to all the decades of life lived there and say thank you.❤

I’m so glad this video was up. I am a long-time treasure hunter. When I was a kid my friends and I would ride up and down alleys looking for a garbage. When I got older I used to love to go to junk stores. Now I go thrifting. That’s as bad as good as it gets here. We don’t have junk on curbs like other cities do. Where I live in Washington state and you do not put junk out on the curb. We have a nice clean neighborhood. And about the ghost you have there I can’t remember if I commented before about the ghost we have. We’ve been in our house almost 34 years and the man of the house died in the bedroom in the back. We’ve had numerous and that’s probably putting it lightly visitations shall I say. They mostly happened when we were remodeling. And some even when we were not but mostly when we were. Mr. sparks was quite the handyman so he didn’t like us messing with the house
This was great. Just watched part 3 and up popped the next instalment. How on earth you keep clean I don't know with all the dust. Lovely to see you donate so much stuff and reduce the rubbish, most people would just throw it all away🙂
OAS (Oral Allergy Syndrome) is not as uncommon as one would think. My oldest (adult) son has it, but it took some time to figure it out. He has pollen sensitivity since a kid. He doesn't seem bothered by raw vegetables and raw tree nuts like some people, but he suffers terribly whenever he tries to eat raw fruits, of any kind. He just gets his fruits from fruit pies, jams and jellies, and compotes, etc.
18:10 At the age of 24 I developed an allergic reaction to fresh fruit and vegetables!! Thankfully I didn't need an epi pen but I sure missed eating some of my favorite foods!! I'm now 43 and I can eat a few fresh fruits but only a small amount. I still have to cook everything if I want to enjoy eating it! I totally sympathize with Bob the Book Man!!
Bummer that the IBM box was empty, because that monitor could be more valuable than the PC itself. But the PC is in the corner of that book room to the left of the weaving room. It had some other things piled on top of it.

Just a little note.. as an old grandma now that moved with my hubby and kids through 20 years of military life, it was common to save the boxes for the equipment like stereos and special appliances, etc that may be needed when the next move was going to come in a year or more.. Once we were in one spot for 4 yrs, so all we saved during that time was the stereo boxes so we would be best able to protect the equipment as we moved. Often the camera boxes and other things were the best ways to protect. I even saved a box for a lamp with delicate optical fibers and it was useful when I donated it to the local thrift shop many years later. - Have fun.. this is a very enjoyable program. Yes.. we did crafts too. Models were fun.. and now I enjoy Lego's.. lol Some of those Architectural ones are a challenge. (I'm calling them Sr. Citizen puzzles.. and yes.. I save the boxes too.. just in case one of the kids wants it later, like the Millennium Falcon. Ya never know.. lol :)

A lot of surgeons, men and women, knit. It's relaxing, but also very good for their hands and finger dexterity. It helps keep the joints lubricated which prevent the onset of arthritis so they can keep doing their job of surgeons efficiently. So knitting is a good pastime for both men and women.

If you don’t she’ll make you WATCH HER KNIT!!”

You are so inspiring to watch. Your generosity to family, friends, and charities is heartwarming.
18:10 It’s Oral Allergy Syndrome aka Pollen Fruit Allergy. The protein is changed when the fruit is heated. My husband has the same allergy.
This is as good as Antiques Road Show.
I can COMPLETELY relate to "made myself a wall" - I block myself in all the time going through this house.
I think those mystery footsteps might have been the floor popping /resettling from being recently walked on
You have been soooo lucky with these funds! Boxes for electronics, and remotes. Owner’s manuals. The car key 🔑 was a miracle. You must have found the title because you already sold the car 🚙
I read someone say to call it the weaver’s house. Great idea! Good luck with the finds!
Can’t see this one having the artistic nor financial impact of the last two, but we’ll see.
The red shoes reminded me of Ronald McDonald lol 😂
My husband and I had blue and white shoes like that in the early 80's. The toe snapped into our cross country skis. Hi from Ontario.🇨🇦
You have a great network of folks around you! Can't believe how quickly you're making progress on the clear out!
Great to see Hans and Zinovia again😍🥳💖
Rubbermate Totes! The 28-gallon ones are apparently out of production and are now very expensive. :( That's the size I use for self-irrigating-planters. So maybe you can make some money from the totes. :D
Woah, had no idea!
I say this with the utmost respect. Anytime someone enters a home whether due to urban exploration, hoard house cleaner after someone is deceased, estate selling, etc, I suggest before going in to pay homage to all the decades of life lived there and say thank you.❤
Rotelle is an excellent entertainment system, high end in the 80’s. My late hubby saved all the boxes to his entertainment system. We still have the Rotelle. ♥️
George Carlins brilliant routine "Stuff" 😂😁
Of all his routines, that's the one I always remember. My stuff is stuff, your stuff is sh*t. Lol. Who touched my stuff...who's sh*t is that. 🤣
Lol. I used to have the soundtrack!
I knew you were going to keep the stereo unit !
It is pretty cool.
Hans has been wigging out again!
😂 He is such a funny man!
😂😂🤣😂😂 ♥️🇨🇦♥️
12:29 Cherry Ames books! Loved those. ❤️
Yeah, I did, too! 'Wipe that rouge off your face!' 'I can't, it's just my face!' Poor girl, always in trouble for that! 🤣🤣
I loved them too! Mine were reprints issued in the 1970s.
Hans + wigs = Awesome! 🤣
Ugh so much stuff. Makes me realize I need to tidy out my apartment.
Bummer that the IBM box was empty, because that monitor could be more valuable than the PC itself. But the PC is in the corner of that book room to the left of the weaving room. It had some other things piled on top of it.
Great channel Alex. You have a great family & friends. Interesting changing material that sparks interest for everyone to watch. Melissa is lucky to have neat stuff to sort through.
We all are living your dream & encouraged how your doing what you love & supporting your family. Take care thanks for sharing.😊
I have the same allergy as Bob the bottle man. Apples, pears, peaches, plums, cherries - can’t eat them raw but can eat them cooked.
@@justjane2070 I can eat those and any kind of berry or melon. It’s a weird allergy but I’ve met several other people who have it too.
I'm glad you can eat them in jams and pies!
@@donnalieblick8478 me too! I love fresh fruit and grew up very close to apple orchards. Luckily I had about 50 years of good eating before developing this weird allergy.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that saves all my boxes and paperwork.
Love that these videos have been a part of my morning routine before work the last few days. Thanks Alex!
I'd love to see a calendar of all of the Hans wig pictures!
Another very enjoyable video. Thanks for making my breakfast brighter this morning!
Shoots! I’m always disappointed when the video ends BEFORE I get to see everything in the house. 🤣😂🤣
I look forward seeing your videos. But what amazes me is your knowledge in so many areas in additional to your knowledge in antiques. Your like a walking encyclopedia. I even told my husband about you and your wonderful wife and children ; and now he asked how are you doing . It’s alike a treasure hunt and learning history while I sit and drink my coffee. At my age this is exploration at its best. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks for sharing.
Alex it is so nice to watch your videos,I am having a great time thank you.👍🤗❤️❤️🇯🇲
Thank you for introducing me to all these super neat people from Canada.
I really feel like the family that lived there, were interesting and loved life!
You might keep that really cool cane chair for your new coffee shop.
I love Hans! Spelled wrong, I’m sure. His heart is larger than life. You’ve been a good friend and what a great friend to have.
I love that Anna Katz painting!!
Word to the wise. Hold onto the IBM computer box till your clean out is done. You never know what you are going to find buried in a house clean out. You don't want to get rid of the box/packaging/manuals/paperwork/etc. only to find the computer under a pile of something later.
Great video! Thank you for sharing your adventures. Feel like we are on the pick with you.
I have no idea how I got here so early, but I'm not complaining! Best video to end my day with on the other side of the globe. 👍
Edit: I did not expect Bob to be the real-life Snow White. Definitely no juicy red apples from old ladies for him.
Yep. I wondering what time is in Canada now. It must be dark outside for sure
I worked for IBM and my first home computer was the PS/1 which was a great computer. The house your cleaning out is really very homey and cheerful except for the RED ROOM. lol
Because I paint, draw etc. and I love books. I could spend hours in a house like that. I love to refurbish and remodel furniture. It’s a passion. I’m hopeless. Too many interests. That’s why I love your channel. I’ve just stated watching and I’m a fan already..thanks for sharing .. Margaret n Iceland
Next Christmas I am hoping Hans will put on a Santa suit, sit in that red velvet chair and take photos with neighbourhood families in the new cafe! Wonder if Alex will wear an elf costume 😁?
HANS WILL MAKE A WONDERFUL SANTA CLAUS 🙏💯💜
@@ireneturner2944 he’s definitely got the jolly spirit and hearty laugh perfected!
Alex as an would be Awesome. He'd play the part just right...I'm Just Saying, Right Everyone???
I love to knitting. I sure wish I could have the sheep collection, a loom or some nice wool yarn. This lady had an even immense amount of class.
So fun to watch, good to see Hans and Zanovia!
Ya never know.. lol :)
I sent you an email about something in the house. It would be so fun to explore a place like this. Thank you for letting me do it vicariously.
Loving this channel. And lately it's gotten even better. Building model kits as I watch you finding model kits! Film the opening of the totes!!
That little clutch as you call it is vintage Coach could be worth a few dollars
It says 'Enny' on the dustbag. Enny handbags were very popular in the 80's and were highly prized.
@@TheErraticCollector it has a coach symbol on the front in Gold ???
I appreciate all you do to keep us entertained! Thank you.
Grasshoppa Finse, mens grasshopper and Finse is a mountain resort in Norway 😊
You're killing me! You were about to open a box of diecast cars at 19:11 and stopped for Hans. What a tease!!!
You are a busy person with all the selling/buying. That is a good thing though. Lots of clean areas in the house so far, shouldn't take long to finish it. The basement will be quick once you get the weaving looms and yarns gone. You take care and be safe.
I wish I had Hans laugh would make a GREAT text alert or alarm on a mobile phone :) I love seeing him and his wife :D Their smiles and laughs just make my day! (as do you and your wife's!)
Yay I can't sleep. This will put me in a good mood and I'll he able to get in a couple hours at least. Thanks!!
Talk about microwaves.....I have an Amana microwave that is 34 years old and it is still cooking! 😊
Hi Alex aren’t your friends great ,they help you so much .
A lot of surgeons, men and women, knit. It's relaxing, but also very good for their hands and finger dexterity. It helps keep the joints lubricated which prevent the onset of arthritis so they can keep doing their job of surgeons efficiently. So knitting is a good pastime for both men and women.
Love the purse that came in the parcel! Emma Chisett? Otherwise known as 'How much is it'?
