Miss Hall has had one of the longest modelling careers in the fashion industry [1975-2007]. She has walked the runways of the most prestigious couture houses such as Christian Dior [under Marc Bohan and Gianfranco Ferre], Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Kenzo, Gianni Versace, Thierry Mugler, Issey Miyake, Bill Blass, Oscar de La Renta, Antony Price, etc...
This video will definitely show you why. A lesson of haute couture in motion and a real delight for the eyes. Enjoy :)

There isn't a piece she wore that she modelled, every piece she made look like something from her wardrobe. You could really envisage those pieces at a party, in the streets. She is amazing

high cheekbones and strong nose gives her a sophisticated diva look. And then that amazing blonde thick hair that cascades like a waterfall. You really feel the clothes when she models them. Nobody can match her when you give her a throw or long coat to show off on the runway.
Yes Jerry's facial structure made her a favourite among fashion photographers and international fashion magazines. Love her with coats too ! She knew how to show off an outfit as you say. She even once stated that a model needs to have a "haughty" attitude on the runway, and look super cool, so every one in the room wants to buy the clothes she's modelling.
And being 6 ft tall. Reminds me of Veruschka. Amazing how some people win that gene pool lottery!
Jerry is the only model I know where you look AT HER....not the clothes......................
As a young woman I watched “ Style with Elsa Klench “ every single time it played on CNN. CNN was brand new and that show was the first time an average girl from Worcester Massachusetts got to watch a runway show ( vs just looking at pictures). She was one of the few top print models who also was amazing on the runway. The runway, in the 1980’s had their own top tier of models. Pat Cleveland was FANTASTIC but you only saw her on the Catwalk. Pat was definitely a big inspiration to the models of the 1990’s.
Yep! I loved that show! Every Saturday morning 9 am I was glued to the TV. Elsa Klensch was an icon in her own right. 💜

They always say that clothes look better on models who look like hangers and models who show little emotion. Jerry and her peers of the 70s/80s & much of the 90s prove that to be false - as evidenced here. Her twirls, hair flips, struts, smiles and poses bring the clothes to life! This is what modeling should be and this is why she’s an icon.
Actually you see more Jerry than the clothes, because what she excludes and her beauty. The very slim models let clothes shine. Very few of them catch the eye. Human hangers, but these are the times.. . At least they are paid very well.Jerry didn't catch the times of being paid very well compared with what is today,eveb considering inflation.

Jerry Hall is an amazing model who knows how to be work the runway, and make it seem effortless!..She even made that bright red, puffy, "mushroom," 🍄 dress work, sensually wiggling around the, "mushroom," part at the audience!...Amazing!…:-)

Saw her at Watford Palace Theatre in the 90s in the lead role of Some Like It Hot. So much prettier in real life than her photos even! An enduringly beautiful woman with enormous presence. Quite unforgettable.

She doesnt have the best walk. But good lord is she gorgeous to look at. Years ago, I saw her walking on the street one summer day and she was nicely dressed. White socks and sneakers, white Bermuda shorts, a light blue shirt and the hair.... and it looked like the Sun shined only on her.

Suzy Parker was the first model to achieve mainstream celibrity status in the 1950's long before Shrimpton.

I wish I knew the years that were represented here.
The earliest show in this video is Yves Saint Laurent Spring 1977 RTW (white off-shoulder sun dress). The most recent is Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective show in 2002 (beginning of the video). Then the other segments are spread across the 1980s and 1990s. However, Miss Hall started walking the runway in Paris around early 1975 for Kenzo, Chloé, Miyake, Dior etc... unfortunately, no footage is available on the internet of these shows because they weren't filmed or weren't distributed to television channels. Only some pictures in black and white can be found on some sites.

I don't think Jerry ever walked for Claude Montana. Back then, there was a Montana clan and a Mugler clan. And usually, if you walked for one, you wouldn't walk for the other. And knowing that Jerry Hall was a big Mugler muse, I don't think she's ever worked with Montana, and I've never seen any pics or videos of it at least. However, Jerry and Claude were spotted partying at Le Palace in Paris in the early 1980s.
