- DAO's (gamo2) PHOENIXWAN Beatmania IIDX controller review. PHOENIXWAN is truly the best premium controller you can get. Although pretty pricey.
EDIT: Seems that the lack of the audio cable splitter was a mistake and you will receive it when you do buy one. DAO has offered to send me a replacement cable!
Beatmania Simulator used is Lunatic Rave 2. Song is Conflict.

I bought this controller about a month ago, and it came with the audio splitter cable included in the cable compartment.

I just want to add in case anyone is curious about getting this controller now. The newest version actually uses a USB-A and USB-C for the power and date respectively and did away with the default PS2 connector, they said that will be releasing an adaptor soon but no super good word on it the moment of this comment.

@@datfatpug but the new one has some good improvements it just sucks theyre taking forever on the ps2 stuff
the quick changing sides part about the controller is the biggest selling point that no other controller has made to change so quickly other than gatting a large controller with two turntables like the real edition double, the virgoo fever, and the ezmax

Why the 4 top buttons help on Infinitas?? What are they used for?
They just serve as option keys for ease of navigating the menu as well as changing speed and failing/restarting. Makes it so you don't have to bust out the keyboard when playing.

Why is the "disk" part is so big on the control yet, people will use the tip of their finger to touch it?

They need to keep their hands and fingers in a specific position on the buttons unless you play freehand which is the most difficult playstyle IMO
The controller does seem pretty cool but the price makes me stick to my current controller. Conflict, another good song!

Wait, PhoenixWans used to connect to PS2? Damn it. I just ordered the most recent version of it which needs an adapter in order to play on PS2. That would've been nice to have it already built in T_T I can't quite locate a USB adapter that connects to the PS2 controller slot.

@@Gl33D I ended up buying the RE because I wanted it SO much for years... and what made me decide was the fact that Phoenixwan is made out of plastic, so it was a downside (imo). I'm absolutely in love with my RE. It's huge, shiny and beautiful! :D
My brain honestly can't comprehend your finger placement on the controller, cause I literally use every finger for another button opposed to you hahaha 😂

I know this comment is 4 months old but she is playing a game called lunatic rave 2. There's also an official pc IIDX game called infinitas but it isn't great

You can play infinitas which is the official PC version. Theres also Beatoraja for custom charts.

Akumatose I have a bad impression on it because of the issues and extra costs. I don't want to buy one myself to review and dao sending me one for free forces me to be nicer about the product
