Terrible research into this.
Inter had an easy draw? - yeah getting out of a group with Barcelona and Bayern was so easy. And Benfica suddenly after Inter beat them comfortably they are an easy team or not the team everyone said they were. Benfica topped a group with PSG and Juve!
Also, on Milan in this competition - Spurs were a week from sacking Conte and were in a complete shambles when they lost to Milan.
Milan played Napoli without Osimhen in the first leg and then his first start from injury was the second leg. The second leg Napoli were without Anguissa and Kim and also lost their two wingers to injury in the first half not to mention Napoli's form wasn't even close to peak when they faced Milan.
Some other things:
Inter have scored 16 goals in their last 6 games.
Milan have won 12 in the last 42 derbies since 2005/06 (compared to Inter's 22 wins in that time) which becomes 5 wins for Milan in the last 29 (since 2011/12) and 3 wins for Milan in the last 10 (since 2020/21) including 3x 3-0 defeats in cup and league competitions in the last 3 seasons.
Heritage yes, AC Milan, second most successful side ever but Inter are joint 7th most successful club in the European Cup/Champions League with Man Utd so plenty of history to look back on for the team especially from the 2010 win and the 4 childhood Inter fans in Barella, Dimarco, Bastoni, Darmian and also Lauturo Martinez's mentor and the reason he is at Inter is all down to Diego Milito.
Inzaghi has won over 75% of cup knockout games he has managed including being the only team to beat Liverpool at Anfield last season - yes that Liverpool side that everyone said were the best side in Europe (sorry that was just Michael Owen) and I'm sorry final point to say Pioli is more tactical than Inzaghi is pundit sacking territory.
Final stat - head to heads for Pioli vs Inzaghi, Inzaghi has 9 wins to Pioli's 5.
I know it's a derby, I know anything can happen but when folks skip some key points it is worth mentioning.

It's just total complacency, all they care about is the EPL. The majority don't like football as a whole, they like the EPL and then are in total shock when anything outside of the EPL doesn't win cause they live in this bubble.
It's a joke, this is football media wide in my opinion but ESPN is definitely the worst.
Like you could tell the guy with glasses (whilst I kind of agree with him in that the Serie A dominance in Europe won't become a regular thing) but you feel he's almost relieved in saying that so he won't have to care about it and can go back to saying the UCL will be won by Man City, Arsenal and whoever qualifies out of Liverpool, Newcastle and Man Utd.
And also, the guy who said Pioli is more tactical than Inzaghi - he just looks so so bored haha
Nubaid hasn’t watched much Inter it seems, they’re 5th in xGD across top 5 leagues in Europe and were bound to hit form sooner or later. Inter has best head to head record amongst the big teams in serie A too.
Funny the guy said Inzaghi’s tactics is not inspiration compare to Pioli but the fact is he is the one who masterminded to score 3 vs Barca, 4 vs Juve last season, 3 vs Benfica, 3 vs Milan this year in a Cup match. Inzaghi has his shortcoming in rotating his squad and breaking down defense sometimes vs weaker teams in the league, but when it comes to cup ties against quality opponents, 80-90% he got things right.
if all i knew about this guy was that sentence i'd think he's a fool. Inter was the first team to beat Liverpool last year in 2022, and for a while the only team to beat them. In Serie A when we're in form we're above everyone else, including Napoli as we've shown in match ups. Consistency is very poor, and we've not been good against lower table teams, but dismissing Inter as he did is criminal

Inter is actually 3rd or 4th in the Europe top 5 leagues in terms of expected goal and total shots, no way a team relies on opponent mistakes can create that much
Football heritage is clearly disregarded in this segment. Italian football will always have a unique know how of squeezing out big results like no other country in the world, they don't need all the money and the best players to be barely relevant in the latter stages of European competitions
That football heritage talk is a joke. So the Milan players gonna to be possessed by Baresi, Van Basten, Maldini and Gullit etc during the 2 legs or what? It took Real Madrid 32 years to win the 7th Champions League title and Bayern 25 years to win their 4th, showing that the so called football heritage could have zero values for decades

Milan and Inter have equally good elevens. The difference is in the squad where Inter have a far better squad than Milan. If Leao is out that is a big, big minus for Milan and I would say Inter are slight favorites.

He is talking about squad depth as Inter can call upon the proven experienced players like Dezko, De Vrij, Gosens, Mkhitaryan, Correa, Handanovic etc to step in for cameo while Milan have to rely on flops like CDK, Rebic, Origi etc and that's actually why they dropped points vs Roma and Cremonese when Pioli rotated the squad

look at the squad values of Milan and inter vs Man city and Real Madrid. Its absolutely insane how much other leagues spend on teams compared to Serie A. Also Milan's most expensive transfer ever was Bonucci for 42 million Euros. Their second one is 41.2 mil back in 2001.

Italian teams may be at a financial disadvantage compared to the Premier League; however, Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Juventus are top brands These Italian teams will always be relevant because they know how to defend themselves while being tactically sound. I believe that either Madrid or Manchester City with all their ocean of money will struggle to score more than 2 goals in the final versus either AC Milan or Inter virtually guaranting that both sides will be in the match.

In 1990, the Italian football clubs had dominated the Europe, with 3 clubs being the winner of 3 European competitions. Ironically, Italian's success in Europe that year came when Napoli won the last Scudetto with Diego Maradona! The only downsides is that the national team didn't won the World Cup on heartbreak fashion by none other than Maradona, who eliminated the host on Napoli's stadium in the semifinal!
Lol, sympathy for AC Milan makes people blind. If we do not consider the derby factor, this would not be an even match at the moment.
Inter is facing the best moment of the season, played the last Serie A games like they were training. Milan, on the other hand, plays an extremely smart (at traits explosive), but low quality football.
People focusing on Milan beating Napoli are affected by the same bias. It was indeed a great achievement, but Napoli recently lost shape, and they surely did not keep up the level of football they got us used to at the start of the season.
The way I see it, biased myself from an Inter sympathy, is the following: either Inter shows dominance in the first game, winning at least 0-2 focusing on quality play style, defining already the direction of the second game or, if the first game had to finish 1-1 or 1-0 for Milan, I believe the smarter counter-attacking and attentive play style of Milan will allow them to go through. I honestly don't expect Inter to lose this, seeing also their average age (most players won't ever have the chance to play another final).
Benficas last two goals in that 3-3 second leg were in garbage time, unfair to say that inter didnt dominate that tie as the tie was 5-1 on aggregate before then

Tony needs to improve his public speaking voice a bit, so it's a bit more consistent, louder, clearer and not so rushed with slurred words, so that the audience can better hear what he's saying. Italy has always had competitive teams regardless of money - and frankly Italian coaches dump over most other countries. Not a coincidence that the most successful coach is Italian (Ancelotti). So on one off games they can outthink and outplay anyone
