Tell me you didn’t watch Gabriel this season without telling me you didn’t watch Gabriel this season Mark. He had 4 yellow cards all year and has scored more goals in the epl since he joined arsenal than any other defender. No question one of the best in the league

Partey is part of Arsenal's best 11 when he's healthy. If Arsenal decide that they need to move on because he can't stay healthy, then I understand, but Ogden is talking like Partey stinks.
Espn aren't able to get good pundits at all, some of the worst by a long stretch, but that works to their benefit as fans get raging about moronic opinions and the interaction (comments) they get as a result are what they need

Squad depth is a huge issue. There are only 14 or so truly trusted players. Too many dead benchwarmers. Nketiah Reiss Vieira ESR etc.

Mark Ogden only knows things about Man Utd, absolutely clueless about every thing else
Gabriel is Top 10 center half in the league in unbiased opinion of someone who watches most matches most matchdays of the EPL. If he's inferior to Saliba it's not by much. Ogden is a smart pundit but he got that one wrong. Selling Smith Rowe, Nketiah and few other players on the fringes would bring in maybe 50 mil and then you add to that some of the bonus for finishing 2nd in EPL and the UCL money and you get that top target this summer. Although I wouldn't sell ESR but try and train 3-2-4-1 of Pep's City in 22-23 treble season.
Dump is harsh worthing. As a fan I think they ought to be sold.
Finally someone who’s saying the best thing I have ever heard on ESPN about a Kai Havertz! Yes! If he played there as no9 more, he’ll score more goals.
Our problem, like I’ve said before, is when we played Rice at no6, that’s when we dropped ALL the points we dropped! He’s not yet able to realize that in this Arteta team, the most critical role is the no6 for making the entire team click! When the no6 clicks, we can destroy ANY team. We can score any amount of goals and that’s why we matched City with our goals this season, even with their Halaand and Pep’s experience and longevity with this team.
No6 is our biggest weakness right now with Partey going, and his injuries even if he stays. We need a top Partey like no6 more than a striker.
Watch this space and learn how Arteta’s thinking about football.
They’d get a better interview speaking to a well informed fan of the team in question rather than a football journalist. These guys get paid to just spout the first thing that comes into their head about a team or player.
Much as I love ESR I think his 10 goals in the 21-22 season may have been a flash in the pan.

Weird statement cause there’s nothing to back this up. He’s produced his best season the season he played the most. Since then injuries have plagued him and when he finally became healthy it was in the latter half of a title challenging season so didn’t get much opportunities. Yet the chances generated in front of goal were very considerable. He didn’t finish his chances but the fact that he got those chances in the limited playing time is a testament to his quality. What points could you bring forward to him being a flash in the pan?

Martin Keown made 10 league appearances for the Invincibles. He only started three starts and needed a few cameos at the end of the season to get enough appearances to get a winner's medal. Toure and Campbell played almost all of the league matches that sense. So Mark Ogden is right in a sense. Gabriel isn't the player that Keown was at that time because he actually played on the pitch last season. And I loved the Gabriel is reckless and could learn from that version of Keown. That was the same season where Keown gave away the penalty to Van Nistelrooy at Old Trafford that was missed and then kicked off the whole post-match brawl by confronting Van Nistelrooy after the match. But Gabriel is the reckless player in Odgen's mind. What a low-information muppet. You can do better ESPN FC.

Arsenal are at a point now where they need to improve the quality of the squad fillers. The likes of Eddie, Nelson, Elneny etc. For me Smith-rowe is to much of a good player to be letting go. People forget he was our top scorer only 3 years ago. Plenty of other players need to go before he is even in the conversation.
Raya is not a GK for a top club - ok, maybe he is good with his feet (i didnt see it making that much of a difference in any game) all the while making a lot of costly mistakes. I still think Aaron is the better player and i am a bit sad for that change (yes i know he also made mistakes but he has more promise in my eyes)

It's a sad day when Arsenal is questioning whether or not to keep Emile Smith Rowe.
He is the best Arsenal player after Odegaard.
He was injured and need to play to get back his form!
Havertz was allowed to play every day...wandering around aimlessly most of the time,
until the ball found him and he tapped it in the goal.
It would be tragic if they again, become giddy-headed for a second time, and move out another of their most talented player, like they did Eze, and then live to regret it.
It’s unfortunate but I think it’s best for him to move on. I don’t think he can achieve what he’s truly capable unlesss he’s played week in and week out. Arsenal might not have the time to do that anymore if he doesn’t hit the ground running, due to the current iteration of the club
But Havertz play EVERY day.

Arteta need to play him back to fitness and form, cause he was out injured. It’s not like his form just dipped.
@@garrincha2813 I don’t really understand what point you are making. Havertz proved the mangers decision to play him was correct with the returns he produced but even that aside. Havertz played most of his time in the midfield in the first half of the season and Smith Rowe was injured for majority of that half, his main position is a striker with LM being secondary. Lastly Havertz provides more of a defensive cover in the LM role than smith Rowe, all these reasons are what played a factor this season. Havertz is not what is stopping Smith Rowe from making the team, this is clear because coming off the bench, when we’re looking for a goal, Arteta is not bringing on Havertz into midfield, smith Rowe would be and has been more prioritised in that area, if a midfielder is coming off the bench.

Sell Kiwior or Zinchenko, and keep and start Tierney. Sell Havertz, Vieira, Lokonga. Keep Partey, Smith-Rowe. Undecided on Jorginho, but buy a quality young central defensive midfielder (like Caicedo, Mainoo, or Bissouma). Loan Marquinos. Play Nelson and Nketiah more or sell them. Buy a Giroud-like center-forward.
