Imagine that, simple explanation that doesn't need a 15 minute video. Thank you!
Hands down the best VOR Intercept explanation video ever - especially packed into 4 minutes. Thank you!
I've tried 6 or 7 videos on this subject here on UA-cam and yours was the only one that made sense. Much appreciated.
Really great video. Even though I've seen more "traditional" explanations of how this works, when I get into the air I'm always confused in the heat of the moment while trying to pay attention to everything else going on in the plane, and find the flags and needles and such quite disorienting even when I am mentally cognizant of where the station actually is just from being familiar with the area. This explanation now makes VOR a stress-free navigational technique and, frankly, a lot of fun to practice!!!!
Finally someone who can teach, in realist terms, not just be a government trained talking head spouting difficult to understand (and counter productive) information. Thank you. Your videos actually promote understanding rather than confusion and discouragement!
Literally the best explanation video of Intercepting VOR Radials I've ever seen on the internet. Unbelievably easy to understand. Thanks a lot, sir!
I really appreciate your VOR videos and I think I have shared them with every pilot I know! I am now working on my instructor rating and I have added this video and the "VOR Made Simple" video as required viewing in the preparatory ground briefing for PPL/CPL students.
OMG this guy is a life saver :) thanks for the simple and clear tutorial
And we’re teach
Wow a great video I am a CFI and this way of intercepting and tracking radials is so much easier than the way I was taught and currently use.
Thank you Cameron feel free to have your students check out or free demos for the Written Prep or Check-Ride Prep Software at: passfaaexams.com/
Best explanation I ever saw. Thank you.
I think you guys are geniuses. bought your DVD and browsed at the on line material, the concepts are brought to the smallest common denominator and the teaching style is tops. Well done dude.
the simpliest and easiest explaination ever! thank you for this sir!
thanks you!! I'm taking my written soon and really needed this!! UPDATE: I passed my IFR written awhile ago, and am now in the flight portion hoping to knock it out this summer. Your videos are still awesome! 😄
thanks I finally understand the concept of intercepting a radial!
You are welcome! For the Full Software Visit: passfaaexams.com/
Very helpful, simplified and straight forward, thank you captain!
Thank you. This says enough for me to grasp the basics...I am sure it's not all I need to know but it must be close!
Thanks for such a simple yet comprehensive video.
Wow, absolutely amazing. This was explained perfectly. You made understanding this concept so much easier than I could have imagined. Well done!!!
Brilliant! Thank you very much. I'm going to share with my student pilot friends.
Thank you so much! This explained it so much more easily than other videos or pdfs!
Extremely clear and simply explained! Thank you very much this is so helpful!
This video is just Awesome!!! Thank you so much. Next time the ATC direct me I will know what to do.
From Costa Rica this video is a 100.
Many thanks
Here is the video our customers love the most! Teaching you an easier way to use your VORs:

No GPS? No Problem!
there maybe some of your competitors that trash your methods here but NO ONE explains VOR navigation in a easier to understand method than you do. NO ONE!!!
Hands down! very straightforward!!!
Got it! Finally! Very clear and well explained. Thanks so much!
Nice, practical, accurate explanation.
This video is outstanding. Keep up the good work!
A friend to pilots, but An enemy to the FAA for making things this easy...
Holding patterns please
I dont get it. Why would the FAA be opposed to this?
@@mikejw58 Because they actually hate us
WoW, clear and simple. Perfect!
thanks, so much easier than i was taught many years ago
Excellent - job well done ! In simple words it’s a real good demo/learning vid, Sa to intercept&track radials - Chapeau !
I did the private pilot written with them and I am not a great student but it worked and I passed with an 80.
This is seriously cool and very well explained.
Simple, clear and concise.
You are so good at explaining things, have to subscribe 👍🤓
Really good explanation. Totally practical.
this made so much sense! thank you
Great video, simple to understand. THANK YOU!!!!!
Great explanation. You’ve got a new subscriber.
It's more easy now to be understood. Thank you
Best explanation yet!
Always a clear explanation , awesome tutorials thanks!
Thank you for amazing video. I wish to know which video you have explaining for a question like this ( select the aircraft flying the direction indicated by the gyro and drag it to zone by the rbi. )
Your method Is truly amazing, please make a video of a different scenario such as Inbound to Outbound or Outbound to Inbound.
Thank you
Well we don't give away all of our secrets in our videos. These are extracts from our full software which you can find at: passfaaexams.com/
Thanks, that was so simple and clear.
Thanks for the simple explanation
Great video and explanation. Keep up the good work!
Superb tutorial!
very useful and simple explanation .. thank you
That's a very good video, thanks for your sharing
That's actually way easier than I thought it would be. Thanks a ton! Question: why aren't there papi lights for left right? Surely pilots could benefit from having a small bit of assurance that they're flying perfectly to the runway in all directions instead of just vertical height.
Simplest explanation to ace the vor
And if you want to ace the entire written test: passfaaexams.com/
thank you so much...very easy to understand
Life saver!! Thank you!
You are welcome sir! If you like this trick, you should see the full software.
That was really clear could you do one for NDB.
THIS WAS PERFECT. THANK YOU
Q-At 2:28 the statement “ our heading is going to be 045° “..? If flying zero-three-zero (030°) -TO- a VOR and directed to the 180° Radial on my starboard or right side, relative to my aircraft-why would I not add 045° to my HDG of 030° and take up a HDG of 075° to intercept the reciprocal of 180° which is 360° ? If I’m flying on 030° and change HDG to 045° as stated @ 2:28, that’s only a + 015° correction to 045°.
Indeed, if it's grater than 45º you may never reach your radial. This explanation is flawed.
Great video. Thank you.
you can explain in a very simple!!! thanks
I appreciate your knowledge.. thanks a lot
VOR tracking and acquiring bearings are not as complicated as most people think. Beginners tend to beacon hop but after a while you just use them for position fixes especially if they have DME.
Well done Sir, thank you.
Very well explained!
superb & excellent VOR ( station or waypoint ) & its radial ( track vector ) identification & flying over it explanation & simple technical method , by Gian Luca Noia
It was a really easy to understand :D thanks!
Very good demonstration..
Excellent explanation!
Thank you Sir. passfaaexams.com/
thanks for sharing, great video !
You are welcome Sir. Keep in mind all our videos are extracts from are full software which you can find at: passfaaexams.com/
Great, short and informative video ;). Is there any official document from FAA or EASA etc which dictate how to intercept VOR or NDB radials?
Could you please make a video on To-From intercepts and vice versa? Like for example, I am tracking outbound on Radial 300 and I now want to track inbound on Radial 040(220 to the station), how to accomplish this intercept?
Very helpful! Thanks
Lol, now I want to get back in the plane to see if I can find those arrows. I had NO idea! Thx, awesome tip!
well this is more simple than i was studied. kinda have 3 kind of intercept in bound and 2 kind of intercept outbound
inbound : simple 0-59, cut 90 60-89, and parrarel 90-119.
outbound : simple 0-119 and parrarel 120-179.
and these are have a trick to done that.
actually this use because we have heavy traffic
great video thank you
Thank you Sir 🙏
Learn vor nav with your instructor BEFORE you get airborne and have the lesson. They want the time and the school wants the Hobbs to spin.Kinda off topic but I remember flying with a local Dr to keep him company in his new Cirrus and he did not understand VORs. It was gps all the way.
Excellent!
Great video thankyou somuch
What is the biggest difference between the Non directional beacon and the VHF omnidirectional radio?
They are completely different. The main difference is that the ADF points directly to the station while the VOR gives you a general direction where the station is and then you have to set it yourself to navigate to or from the station: passfaaexams.com/
thanks a lot,, but what about intercepting radial that's more than 90 degrees?
Dude thank you
Awesome thank you!!
You are welcome Sir. Please consider visiting: passfaaexams.com/ for much more!
Nice job!!!
thank you sir
Perfectly explained...ty
When ask by ATC to hold on a vor radial, do you hold inbound towards the vor or out bound in direction of the radial ?
Always inbound
great video
Will your app work on iPad again? I miss it.
Thank you
Brilliant. Thankyou.
Great vid. Thank you!
Thanks.
Yup
Nice ....thanks
What is the maximum intercept angle when intercepting radials/LOC?
Generally if you are intercepting a Localizer course ATC will initially give you a 45 degree intercept angle and then reduce it to 30 degrees. Intercept angles will vary between 30 to 45 degrees, depending on how far you are from the facility.
Thanks
Can you pls explain about inbound to outbound and outbound to inbound interception
The video already does that. In the first part of the video you are flying inbound (to the station) on a certain radial and on the second part you proceed outbound (away from the station) on another radial.
this really help,,, thanks allot... and i want NDB how to intercept and track please
What is the proper way to intercept an inbound radial when too close to the station? Is it ok to head away from the station to give some more room for maneuvering?-Thanks
Negative never fly away from it unless instructed to do so. Just fly direct to the station instead.
ok thanks
