Honju- the “boss” monster, either the biggest or the strongest of the batch
Yoju- the smaller/weaker monsters that are spawned by or follow along with the Honju
Daikaiju- any Kaiju with a fortitude over 8.0
Numbered Kaiju- number designated Daikaiju that took a long time to kill or were very difficult to kill

I have no idea what happened, but I'm really glad the reaction is back up. I watched the GoT reaction first and was disappointed when I went to watch the Kaiju No. 8 and it was gone.
The next double drops are about to be insane. The first half of the season was really good but in the second half they really cooked, especially with every other episode
Agreed. I really like the pacing. They'll leave a little cliffhanger but they follow it up with a banger episode. It works well.
My fav thing about the bathhouse scene is even the usually-stoic Kaguragi be holding Kafka down to get more info about Ashiro 😂
And Mina showing off a bit to Kafka is also kinda cute & funny
Just as a bit of clarification, the custom weapons made for captains/vice captains and the numbered kaiju weapons are actually two different things. We havent seen any numbered kaiju weapons yet, Hoshina and Mina are just that powerful with their own suits and weapons. The show will let you know when a weapon is a numbered kaiju weapon.

I dont know if someone already said this to you but Honju is the main Monster and Yonju are the side monsters or the monster that Honju create/summon. and Kaiju with number is called Daikaiju. and the monster are always above 8.0 if i remember correctly.
in manga this is explainned better. in anime there is nothing about this. I was happy when the guy with green hair have same birthday just like me

Honju: sth like a boss monster.
Yoju: smaller monsters which are created by the Honju.

Heard this is the author’s first manga and it already got an anime, and if true is really amazing. So the author might be inexperienced in making things flow smoother which is why it’s really noticeable with tropes.

The JAKDF is part of the JSDF which is the Japan Self Defense Force, which is the actual military of Japan in reality. So the JAKDF (which I think stands for Japan Anti-Kaiju Defence Force) is a fictional department of their military.
This is when the story gets really good, I can't wait to see your reactions, also some of the stuff you were talking about regarding the future of this series, you'll be waiting a bit

i agree, this season of kaiju no.8 is better than sl’s first season, but since i’ve read both, i really have to disagree further then this, season 1 of solo leveling is it’s weakest, while for kaiju season 1 is it’s strongest, this is just my opinion though! glad you’re enjoying it ❤
don’t read this if you don’t want spoilers on either shows, but i think my main problem with kaiju is it fails where solo leveling succeeds with the mystery aspect, solo leveling fully explains every plot point by the end, while kaiju is in it’s final arc right now in the manga, and basically no questions have been answered, and the writing has only gotten worse imo. but that’s just me.
solo leveling definitely has a side character problem but the anime will be fixing that thankfully.
