Next April will mark seven years since my visit to Japan and your videos help me feed my nostalgia! I hit a bunch of Book and Hard Offs in off the way places like this while I was there, just like you did in your video! Google Maps was my best friend, heh! Hope to make it back someday and see how things have changed...
funny enough I was just coming off mad panic gaming's video and HIS thumbnail featured Goemon too, haha. so much good stuff here! actually just pulled the trigger on a bunch of dreamcast stuff off of ebay the wife wanted to start collecting for that so I thought that would be a cool christmas for us.
awesome video and good pick ups. i did a circuit of wattmans, and second street in yokosuka on friday. got kirby stars, double dragon collection, and metroid dread on the switch plus a new, to me, citizen watch. No luck on the retro stuff; they had a decent selection accross the different stores but nothing on my radar.
Nice video, man! I've seen that Rockman Battle & Chase on my hunts as well, always wondering if it's a good one... Initial D for the PS2 is supposed to be better than the PS3 version. However, I'm still curious about that PS3 version.
Yes the initial D is good I picked it up a while back but I'd also like to try that ps3 version too. I'm looking forward to checking out these pick ups as well.
Every time I see a scruffy video, I get "homesick" for Japan. No really. + I love the remix music + I love the "whole footage" thing of the surroundings. Please keep it going scruffy, and my personal wish; make some MORE OST scruffy music. totally Rad man.
Yes that is a good deal then 😯👍dragon quest on the super famicom is still affordable even these days with the prices for og famicom dragon quest games skyrocketing
That bus transit system looks like a nightmare to navigate. The trains tend to be on time in Japan, guess the buses are not. If you see a Game Boy Tetris, and Jaleco is on the label, that is Tetris Plus. Mahou Guru Guru is an action adventure game for the SFC, it even has an SFC sequel, both based off of the anime (which actually had a reboot almost 20 years later, pretty funny anime). 14:14 Nintama Rantarou, based off an anime, so far the only thing I found subbed in English for the series is one of the most recent OVA's. While Super Chinese Land has some beat em up elements when you encounter enemies, it is actually a bit more RPG based, just not the traditional RPG way of fighting as you control the heroes. Speaking of the Power Pro-kun baseball games, I have now started to pick those up, mainly the SFC, PS1, and Saturn versions are the goal, a couple SFC ones so far in the collection. Helps perk up the Konami count in the collection, will be picking up at least 2 more this round. 23:37 Kabuki Quantum Fighter in the US. You missed a good one to the left of Gokujo Parodius, Nitropunk Mightheads, aka Rocky Rodent in the US, the JP one is the one I have as it was cheaper to buy. 32:01 Super Monkey Ball, originally on the Dreamcast. 32:51 I recently picked up Namco Anthology 2, for the remake of Valkyrie no Bouken on it. I tried the FC version, also included on there first, got nowhere. The remake is gorgeous.
Buses aren't as bad as they seem. Just so happens the next bus didn't come for like 20 min so I decided to hoof it. Super chinese on the famicom is a pretty wacky game on the famicom and Gameboy but have yet to try it on sfc. The baseball games have also entered my vision recently famicom ones mostly. Love thoese retro konami boxes. Rocky rodent? Sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out. Yes, parodius is one I actually own. Fortunately, I got a scruffy one very, very cheap. Ohh Namco anthology has a remake of Valery densetsu I did not know that I must check that out some time👀 Appreciate the 411 my man as always 🙏
@@ScruffyLookinRGB No problem, just make sure it's Namco Anthology 2, that same one also has a remake of Pac-Attack, the puzzle game, on it as well. It is a remake of the Famicom game though, and not the arcade game, but the arcade game is easy enough to get a hold of if you find Namco Museum Volume 5 for the PS1.
Might ask: can you do a video on modding a famicon into a clear top shell, maybe an HDMI MOD, and if even feasible- controller to wireless config mod? Thats a top dream build for me.
5:47 Wow even Japan has surplus SW: POTF toys nobody wants, somebody really screwed up making those steroid chests and monkey Leia lol. Went to a toy convention last year, there they were still in original packaging dirt cheap.😐 Still some nice stuff for cheap there I see, always the rub often with some game titles Ie. "Oh you want one in English, several hundred dollars more please.".😧 I'm not lingual so I'm limited to low language barrier importing, eventually I'll attempt JP SS-RE with a translator on hand heh. 31:58 Close, Monkey Ball, you should go play one of them.😉35:40 Ooh a sandal yokai, I love those possessed object ones, umbrellas, lanterns.😍Yeah the NA NES Fantasy Zone is not good, but solid Famicom gem.
That is interesting, perhaps at the time it was just good to see some new figures, now we have a glut of good SW figures. I do like some of the vehicles, animals, and playsets of POTF even if the figures look weird imo.@@ScruffyLookinRGB
Tales of Phantasia on the GBA is the worst version of that game ever. I was the only release of that game outsider Japan. He PS1 version is way better.

That's awesome! I am glad my videos are enjoyable to watch. I bet it's nostalgic seeing these narrow streets. Hardoff tune must bring back memories 😉
@@ScruffyLookinRGB hahaha, for sure! That tune must feel like breathing to folks who live there, I'm sure. I didn't mind too much, heh. ;)
No doubt it is👍🏻✨️
Great videos like always!
Thanks man 😉

Nice man, dreamcast is one I haven't put much time into as of yet. It has been a goemon state of mind lately.😉

Sounds great! Too bad they didn't have as much retro as you were expecting. I've heard they have quite a few locations tho.
@@ScruffyLookinRGB aye they do. I probably would have lost weight walking between locations if not for all the good food here.

Thanks for the kind words and support, my man. Much appreciated 🙏

I figured it was that or are you digging this awesome tech we got here😉👍
14:02 That is steal for Dragon Quest 5 I'm seeing on ebay the DS version with the case is going for $248.99 US

These are all great suggestions definatly mods I would like to do in the future. I hope to do an internal Bluetooth mod when I get my hands on one.
Rockman Battle & Chase is the 1st 3d rockman/mega man game ever made
Really?! I did not know that. I hope It's good 👍

Oh man, we were so stoked to get those POTF figures in the late 90s. Definitely not as good as the original Kenner figures tho.
