Nice intro shot! I hope you get to pull the trigger on a Neo Geo console one day. Its the console I play the most now. Anyway, awesome video! Watched it 3 times now. Hoping for more Neo Geo videos soon!
Im glad you could enjoy it man 👍👍👍 unfortunately it did not fair to well in the youtube algorithm.😳 but im glad i did it shed some light on the console for me and now i know what to look for so if i find another lone console for 7000 yen ill definitely pull the trigger. 😉👉🕹️🎵
Wow! I most definitely got lucky here in US a few years ago, around 2013 or 2014. On ebay, I bought a Neo Geo console lot, with hardware, 2 controllers and 3 games for around 280$. I guess at the time, there wasn't much demand for Neo Geo. I still play it to this day, but I gave up on collecting games, as some of the best ones are $$$$$$$.
Sounds like you got in at a good time. Unfortunately i dont have a neo geo but perhaps ill find a good deal on one some day. Id probably want to get a flash cart tho.
Big SNk fan here, and I collect for NeoGeo, very expensive, but worth it, nothing quite feels as good as the holding a NeoGeo case and cart. Keep up the great work, really enjoying your videos.
@@ScruffyLookinRGB Wow great question, I would say 1st KOF 99, I feel SNK really nailed it with gameplay, character, style and amazing ost. Garou next on my list to pick up, but the 2k is really hard to justify, this game oozes with style and gameplay, the fighters are fresh and unique. 3rd Real bout special, SNK dialing in fatal fury making it a beautiful and superb. KOF 97, simply great as well, my favorite box art of all time.
It's interesting to me as new collector of Neo Geo AES that prices in this video and now are not too much different. A few games have moved the needle upward, but most have stayed pretty stable. Last Blade 2 at Super Potato in this video was Y71k but is over Y100k these days on Yahoo Auctions. Had to settle for a copy with no manual for Y65k this past month. the KOF series from 1998-2003 have also climbed markedly in that time. Prices for the consoles have only really climbed to high levels in Akiba, as they are pretty stable over the past few years online. The CDZ has seen a climb though, which is a shame as I would like one in my collection. Naturally Big Tournament Golf (aka Neo Turf Masters) and all the Metal Slugs have climbed out of reach now. Hell, Big Tournament Golf is Y55k on the Neo Geo CD for crying out loud! Having to settle for CD/MVS versions of some games.
Neo Geo collecting is way out of my price range, especially now. I wish I would have grabbed one 5 years ago ang a few games when KOF was much more reasonable. Akihabara will always be the most expensive place to pick up neo geo games and consoles. You can find deals on yahoo auction sometimes. I'd still like to at least own the console for my collection though ✨️🙌👏❤️
@@ScruffyLookinRGB Yes, I have a Neo-Geo AES, CD, MVS and even the pocket color. I don't have a Neo Geo X though but don't really want one. That was one of those new fangled retro consoles ala the various mini's that have been released in recent years with compilations of licensed emulated games on it. I do own the newer "Neo Geo Mini" as well and wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a more authentic hardware experience.
Hi, nice video of many stores, thanks ! To make it simple, Neo Geo X is a crap emulated console with bad quality picture, a waste of money; the Neo Geo CD is a cheap Neo Geo without all games released on AES/MVS. If you are really in that stuff, there is only the Neo Geo AES console, the best of the best ! :)
Thanks for your kind words and suggestions. Many folks say go with the MVS. But im sure some day i will end up with both. What is you game suggestion for AES if a person loves shooters. Is there a reasonable option???
@@ScruffyLookinRGB well, there are not so many shooters on Neo Geo unfortunally and prices are insane now... View Point, Last Resort and Sonic Wings 2 are my favorite. But if you are an old & nostalgic gamer from the arcade era like me, you should go to some great pc engine classics: big nose goblin, Saint dragon, or even legend of hero tonma... But maybe you already know them. Thanks again for all vidéos, very well shot, à real pleasure to watch. All the best for 2023!
All those ball tops are cracked, and if they're not, they will be in a year or so. I'd recommend just saving a bit and buying a cracked ball top stick, then buying a new black same size ball top, perfect!
Neo Geo X Gold is the one you don’t want. They are replica systems made a few years ago and play emulation carts, not actual Neo Geo carts. Don’t know what happened with the Neo Geo X Gold, after a while SNK Playmore withdrew the licence and the machines weren’t made any more. Maybe it was because SNK Playmore were developing their own emulation machine Neo Geo Mini? Ten years ago I would have advised you to go for loose MVS carts and a Super Gun or consolized arcade Neo Geo. But at least here in Sweden prices for arcade related games have gone up too, so I don’t know if it’s that much cheaper than AES anymore.
Thank you Bjorn for your insight very useful for all participants as usual. I probably wont go too crazy with neo geo hunting but id like to get a couple of affordable games just to have and try out. Neo Geo X is a dissappoint ment from my perspective anyways. Give me the giant carts all day long not thoese mini sd card carts???
A gentleman doesn't tell for how much he got his Neo Geo AES. Edit: on getting a neo geo cd. Always get it with the power supply. It uses a very rare triangular port, and the supply loose can go for about 5000 yen. The loading speed for the games is pretty bad for fighting games, but it's fine mostly everything else. There's an ODE for it, developed by a guy named Furrtek. It's one of the few that let you keep your original drive.
Ha ha touche. Well i appreciate your participation in chat as always youve always got the inside info on things brining valuable news for everyone. thanks man

Please amp up the audio, compared to the commercial breaks your audio is like 15% volume.

They are very expensive these days only collectors buy these cartridges since we can sell play using emulation or FPGA perfectly
