Sweet looks money, my screws were backing out also so I took the pivot screws and pivot barrel sprayed them down with some brake cleaner to remove all the oil from oiling the knife, seems like the oil was not letting the Loctite set up like it should, ever since she’s been great
Thank you and that’s great advice! I also clean the pivot and screws ect really well before using loctite but I use 91% alcohol. Brake clean is also great though, definitely helpful!
Did you change the ball cage spring or ball at all? I love how slick you have yours opening up mines a bit tight been playing with it for a min any tips?
Man I have my manix2 15V with rockscale design scales and the screws were backing off then I used the blue liquid locktite and I left it to dry for 24hrs it never backed on me since then more than 3 months and I use my knife at work on daily bases and I saw I review on AWT scales and the ball cage lock was rattling have a happy day enjoy
Have you switched your ball cage and steel ball out. The ceramic ball is night and day difference from the factory steel ball. Speaking of wrong size screws. I just ordered a hardware kit for my yojimbo off etsy. Only screws that fit were the clip screws
I have been trying to decide between Spyderco models for a while and the lack of a screw and stand off at the lanyard end of the knife to hold it together has concerned me with the Manix 2. I love the scales.
I’m aware of that but thank you for the heads up! I like getting the Yojimbo hardware sets also because you get the 2 extra screws which for these scales ends up being perfect!
Thank you, I use a soldering iron on the head of the screw so I don’t heat up the scales or blade! Heating the blade to a certain temperature can ruin the heat treat!
Thanks bro and I do, it’s not a concern. More like peace of mind after everything ive been through with this knife! If you have seen my previous videos and configurations of this knife, you’ll see why I went with red!
Looks excellent! Are the scales aluminum anodized purple? What kind of coating are on them? What is the weight of the knife with is scales... Thanks again. : )
It says anodized but it appears almost like a powder coat.. 🤷🏻♂️ idk lol but either way they are beautiful and its definitely lighter than factory, I’ll weigh it in a little bit!
Yes that is true usually but not always and with this knife, blue was useless. If you go back though all my video’s regarding this knife, you’ll see that I’ve tried everything and I have several brands of blue loctite! As far as my other knives go, blue usually works yes!
@@BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL oh I didn't see the other videos. There's also another locktite called vibratite, they use it in gun optic screws so maybe that will be a good choice too
@@tizben all good! That sounds like a good choice also! I know alot of people are scared of loctite but I’ve always used it without issue. Having quality torx that fit snugly and keeping the tip all the way down square in the head of the screw makes all the difference. Also having a good feel for the tolerances of the screw and how much force you can apply without damage. If it requires more than feels safe, just heat the screw with a soldering iron and it will melt the loctite but I honestly never really have to do that. The red might be a different story but worst case I’ll just melt it 👊🏼😁
@@tizbenI’ve been using Vibratite blue gel on my knives for years definitely way better than the liquid , I also use a low heat gun to dry the loctite fast
Thus knifes actually priceless because it was a gift and it’s literally my favorite knife. I guess you missed my top 10 most carried because this knife was number 1. So unfortunately there’s 0% chance of that happening and no amount of money id sell it for!
Those scales really transform that knife, looks great!
Thank you!
Love it!! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!! ❤⭐️🥰
The purple is slick, blue screws would really contrast nice

I love that color!!❤💯👍🥰
Hope they start doing these shiny colours on more grey colours
Nice dude . I seen them sweet edges you do . Good job 👍 . Haha, yeah , never taking apart the manix 2 again after it’s tuned and set .
Thanks brother
Wow! Nice work man!
Thanks brother! 👊🏼
They look good. Ive considered a set for my pm2. Great video brother 👍
Thanks brother!! Definitely a looker! 👊🏼😁
Subbed, awesome stuff. 👌🏼

U can always pick up a lil heat gun to make a very specific spot warm/hot to release the locktite too
I use a soldering iron if I need to heat it, keeps heat away from the handle and blade!

It’s really nothing to worry about.
FYI - Knives Plus Yojimbo screws will fit these scales per AWT. It’s not their website in the description too.
I’m aware of that but thank you for the heads up! I like getting the Yojimbo hardware sets also because you get the 2 extra screws which for these scales ends up being perfect!
Just a fyi. a heat gun will soften red and blue thread loc making it easier to remove bolts/screws ect.

Beautiful scales man. I dunno about the red loctite tho lol

Whew… Those scales are HOT
Thanks you! I agree!! 👊🏼😁

3.3oz! Stock is 4.14!
Excellent.. Lighter is way better...
Thanks for the update.

@@timmyt964 you’re welcome!
😍😍😍
Ok we have a barbie trend here. Just waiting for a nuke trend scales😅
Haha, I wouldn’t make that comparison but I guess it could work 🤣
Usually blue wont back out either even with hard use.

You really don't need that knife so can I have it lol. Manix2 over pm2 yup I'm that guy 😅
