The great thing about Triple J's Like a Version, is that you get to listen to artists and songs that you may never usually listen to. I have come about some great music, such as Chvches covering Arctic Monkeys
I like this version tho i've heard the original. It's not a sin right? Hahas. Idk I think his voice makes it sounds like his high. Idk I love it when I heard it. Then watched it a few more times again and again. Jazzy.
To the few people I've seen that said this is better than the original and the few who haven't heard the original. I'm just going to say The original has more feeling in it, this one feels extremely boring and flat, there's no emotion or soul in the signers voice
Sam Ward Didn't know Drake until I searched Google images, but I can see a resemblance. One thing is for sure, this drummer has great style and he can infuse magic into the music.
The music is great. This is a great instrumental cover but the singing lacks so much. They need an actual singer but lead vocals dude plays a mean guitar.
I'm sorry but the vocals are just horrible. Seems to be no passion in the singing, almost as if there is no care at all. Even messes up the words at 2:18-2:25
I would be inclined to agree with you in regards to Alex Turner, but Matt Bellamy has an incredible vocal range and he uses it. Up until Muse's latest 2 albums he has exhibited it quite well. Don't fool yourself though, they can all hit the right notes and remember the words... There is a difference between pulling it off, and sounding disinterested.
I think the lethargic voice is just an aesthetic that is up to your taste. Plenty of respected and popular singers are pretty lethargic. I'd definitely say Alex Turner is a good example of that,Thom Yorke sometimes too (although maybe I'm only seeing it as lethargic because of the lazy eye)
These like a versions are getting better, good to see Triple J supporting up and coming young Australian talent.
Fucking idiot went to iggies athelstone, Adelaide.
I love the drums in this song.
set speed to 1.25x and enjoy.
yeah it sounds like a totally different and appropriate song.
Sounds a little like a Rex Orange County song.
Set speed to 0.25x and enjoy.
Go 2x 💪
Pleasantly surprised with the breakdown
probably one of the best covers ive ever listened to
If you haven't already, please watch Childish Gambino's video for this song. Awesome.
Jamie Locke liiiiiink
Jordos Drogo seeeaaaaarchhhhh its on youtube.
Best singing faces
Dani Chin ... best singers usually do :)
The music and the voice...beautiful version. CG would be super proud I am sure!
This is the best LAV I've seen in years

That's one of my favorite TJ's. I hadn't a clue who Chrvchs were until I ran across their cover of AM's.
Jamie Locke If you liked Churches' cover on Triple J, you will love #1 Dads ft Tom Snowden's cover of Two weeks by FKA Twigs
I love this cover
This is so flawless.
Heaps chill, nice one :)
so good/10
love this, love him.
that instrumental hit me so unexpected I s2g
Holy shit this guy is the lovechild of Sam Cromack from Ball Park Music and Robert Delong! In terms of voice, music, looks and facial expressions!
4:20 ;D
The singer's voice kills it for me, rest of the band is awesome
Jesse 😍

Better than I expected, but the original is still amazballs!
Sick!
I really like this
god i miss this man
What happened to him
Wow that breakdown...
soi good
What kind of piano effect is he using? :-(
Katie Tan that's a Roland Juno Synth. one of the most popular synths of the 80's
I kinda wish they had the guy with the high pitched voice sing led on this one.
The singer kinda reminds me of amir from college humor
+Phauk Yumeen jake and amir are not part of College Humor anymore though :( I saw them live though; they were awesome.
I was thinking the SAME exact thing hahah glad someone else saw it!
what fucking mic is on that kit. sounds good. looks like a tlm 193 but that makes no sense
This was like the my lunch from Cafe Primo the other day. Wasn't terrible and it was only $9.90!
Good call Aiden
Hahhahaha fuck
This version would be so good with a different drum arrangement.
2:58 get chill af
this is so great but I can't help and think that it went till 4:20 for a reason hahahah
4:13
The antithesis of the Jack Stratton
Have a crush on that bassist. 😳
i dont know the original...but am liking this
robcop7 sober by childish gambino
I like this version tho i've heard the original. It's not a sin right? Hahas. Idk I think his voice makes it sounds like his high. Idk I love it when I heard it. Then watched it a few more times again and again. Jazzy.
This was like the original with no seasoning. Wasn't terrible but not what I'm looking for when I'm hungry.
Millatyme901 thats the best explanation 😂😂
yea Childish has a version setup just like this that is 2-3 times better. haha, like soggy cold fries.
I'm stealing this metaphor or whatever you call it.
This is a car wreck.
Ronnie Phan I feel so bad for laughing omggg
love how it's all psychedelic an junk
I didn't know Hozier played lead guitar for Jesse Davidson
So this is why Edgar Wright couldn't direct Ant-Man. This is a good cover though.
Not too shabby, could used a bit more harmony and sass IMHO
Sounds like Mclovin
gmmmmirl
Musically this is great, lyrically it's a let down. Need that falsetto!
Thank you... I agree
Hawaiin version
Slow it down to .5 speed and the soul of the original is sucked out even more. Jeez I'm glad that artists do give CG props and cover his work though
I like the bland singing for some odd reason.
To the few people I've seen that said this is better than the original and the few who haven't heard the original. I'm just going to say The original has more feeling in it, this one feels extremely boring and flat, there's no emotion or soul in the signers voice
these like a versions aren't as good as they used to be like the Chvrches cover of Do i wanna know or Grouploves cover of spiderhead
kalob Ashmun Chvrches cover of Do I Wanna Know was terrible. That's fine if you like it, but it was absent of emotion.
You say used to be like the "like a versions" you mentioned are from decades ago, they were both quite recent.
Also your opinion is subjective.
kalob Ashmun Gang of Youths LAV > Both those LAVs put together
You have an opinion and it's cool. I like it. I think it's great they covered CG.
Sounds like his nose is blocked lmao
Does the drummer not look like a white Drake?
Sam Ward omfg yes
Nice seeing you here Sam.
What the hell. How did you find this? Hahaha Niamh Van Berkel
Sam Ward not at all
Sam Ward Didn't know Drake until I searched Google images, but I can see a resemblance. One thing is for sure, this drummer has great style and he can infuse magic into the music.
bland is correct
Eh...
whats up with dudes face during the chorus ? lmao
This was pretty bland. It only sounds ok because it's using the same sound as the original arrangement
He's flat, too. It sounds like it done in a lower key.
The music is great. This is a great instrumental cover but the singing lacks so much. They need an actual singer but lead vocals dude plays a mean guitar.
Butchered the original :( What a boring and flat voice.
That's cool that YT has a voice for your opinion. I bet you felt original about your idea of what "flat" was. Right on!
Drake is white...
No
this looks forced
Why so dry?? I don't why he sings so flat and dull.
I'm sorry but the vocals are just horrible. Seems to be no passion in the singing, almost as if there is no care at all. Even messes up the words at 2:18-2:25
