  • This particular knife is one of the unicorns we chased. It's found itself in a new home. We are very fortunate to be able to use it, restore it and put a new edge on it. Its owner lives in the same town as myself. They are proud to have it, and I am honored to be able to maintain it. The blacksmith has retired. And since I am a bit of a romantic I believe its new edge should be achieved with Japanese natural stones. Most of the stones you see are acquired through my friend Jonathan. I will put a link below. I trust him and he knows what I have and what I need. We put an edge on this knife starting with a synthetic at 500 grit then we move onto the Naturals. This knife was easy to sharpen. Great steel performs above anticipation and expectation. You can hear it in my voice! The blacksmith did all of the work, and now my job is easy. The patina was something the new owner wasn't sure about. He was unaware that it's OK to have and it helps to protect the knife overtime. At the end we take some diamond lapping film that can be found at Jende Industries. It did well. I am not an established sharpener/polisher. I am a sharpener. We took the opportunity to use the diamond lapping film to get out the scratches and give it the Kasumi finish it deserves. Again, wonderful to work with.

My wife now has more than three years practice. It took a while. People who used to complain a lot. We appreciate the kind comments. People are not always that kind.

@@christianpyle3888 I love Japan. I’ve always wanted to go. I have a Hakima. I would definitely love some traditional clothing. I love ancient Japan. I’ll give you the money. I look forward to meeting you when you get here. And I’ll definitely look you up if I ever get over there.

Thank you sir. We've been doing it for a long time. Over a year. We're going to get all of our skin cut off, all of the extra skin will come off, so I won't be able to go to the Blade show. Thanks for your support. You've been here for a while. I really appreciate it.
