A multiple team trade would be the best way to go to have this done. A Dame to Miami- KAT to Portland-Harden to the Clippers-Herro to Minnesota and Mann and Covington or Batum to Philly might just be the answer.
No. We aren't trading to Miami after what they did. Riley was too clever by half and they have poisoned the well with Portland until Riley is gone. I also doubt we would ever want a Goodwin repped player on the team ever again. Dame completely destroyed what was statue downtown and a run at Governor by what he's done. He was the most beloved Blazer of all time. Now that he attempted to annihilate his own value, at least half the fans despise him. A trade that works and reasons. First a long list of the reasonings.
Dame to Raptors? A one year shot in the dark if it doesn’t produce a championship. Then Dame would need moved to recoup losses. No one wants a disgruntled player long term. If Raptors pulled another victory like 2019 who knows. He may want to stay but Raptors FO aren’t in the business of ruining players lives.
Therefore Raptors shouldn’t trade Scottie or OG and should try to keep as many of their futures as possible. Mainly Gradey, Koloko & Precious. They need to protect their future.
If a team is trading for Dame they need defense. Even more reason to keep OG & Scottie. Plus Poeltl and Siakam. It’s about a championship not filling seats or acquiring a franchise player. Those they have. Plus it needs to be a team Dame is all in for.
Salary has to match and Portland has to get something that lines up with remaining roster short term/long term. Or moveable at the trade deadline.
So….. Gary is the only larger contract that fits or movable at the deadline. Hate to lose him as he’s young and works well with Toronto also. But something has to go……Portland needs to realize he’s not what they gave up. He’s much more. Plus he still has a higher ceiling. Boucher is a veteran influencer that doesn’t threaten what they already have and movable.
A lot of this trade is base around also helping with the Ayton/Nurkic trade. Portland needs to send veteran pieces that accommodate Suns win now mindset if they want Ayton. Not futures or simply salary dump. Rotational player or high IQ bench player that can be trusted not to do something stupid in 30 sec to 2 minutes. Players Raptors wouldn’t want to lose for their run but would if need be. Players Portland don’t have to move or want to send.
Therefore:
Portland: Deandre Ayton 3yrs, Gary Trent Jr. 1yrs, Chris Boucher 2yr, 2 first rd picks, 2 second rd picks. Raptors get 1-6 protection lifted from 2024 pick to spurs in order to offer Portland more desirable 1st.
Suns: Jusuf Nurkic 3yrs, Otto Porter Jr. 1yrs, Thaddeus Young 1yrs
Raptors: Damian Lillard 3yrs
To be honest if this isn’t better than Miami’s guard heavy trade then just take Miami’s. Or let Dame rot along with Nurkic for the next three years. Raptors are good as it is in this stage of their process.
A staring five of Lillard, Siakam, OG, Barnes, and Poeltl sure looks good. With a bench of Schröder, Precious, McDaniels, Gradey, Koloko isn’t too shabby either.

I don't see Giannis happening, but Siakam is an All-NBA caliber player in his own right and Barnes can potentially fill in the defensive hole O.G. leaves.
Add Poeltl, Trent Jr., Schröder, McDaniels, the potential of Koloko and Dick as bench pieces, it's not crazy to think they could be a contender with Dame.
The only person that can fill OG defensive role is precious. Barns still has a long way to improve on the defensive end.
