    Thanks for your little vid. I bought this exact bike about 8 weeks ago. I had a recent hip operation and this bike is part of my therapy. I’ve only done 120kms around the Illawarra but absolutely love everything about the bike. Mine lives in the boot of my car and it is a little bit of a pain putting it in and out but well worth it when I can pull it out anytime and go for a ride. I have read a lot of comments about speed and changing settings but I have a theory that for every five kms faster you travel on a bike that’s another square foot of skin you lose when you fall off. With a bike like this I think people should accept it for what it is…. a tank like bike that will be suitable for most rides an average person will want to take. I am a big lump at 190cm and around “heavy to fat bugger”and my bike handles me easily. I like your vid because it depicts ordinary people riding and discussing a new bike. I don’t need to know how many spokes there are on a wheel or how many cogs or sprockets fit into a thingummy bob. Thanks for your informative vid . Happy riding.

      Haha! Love so many things about your message. Especially the square foot of skin theory. Totally agree- I’m not so keen on raising the limit either.

    Coming from someone who has owned this bike for 1.5 years and rode it every day totalling 2k kilometres: I LOVE this bike. I never knew how much I'd enjoy having an electric bike. If you want to explore the world of fat tyre e-bikes, I can't recommend this enough! After ample use, the battery did degrade after 1 year but they do sell replacements.
    Unfortunately, my baby got stolen literally yesterday 😔 Gone but never forgotten.

    After looking around for some months, I came across this bike through Kogan by accident. At just under $1,000, it was just over $700 cheaper than another we were looking at. I think we ordered both in November and received them early December (not with a bedhead...). Took them up to to Riverland, rode around heaps, now locally around Adelaide. Great bikes, we love them. Thanks for your review.

    As an experienced e rider I suggest leaving assist in 5 and utilising speed using your gears 👍 (switching them to 1 before stopping for an easy start) you’ll get the most out of your speed this way easily! Have fun!!!

  • @petejames9366
    @petejames9366 2 роки тому +12

    Absolutely Love mine👌 done nearly 4000kms and it’s still going strong, know the bike back to front and there are so many worthwhile modifications that can be done. Just a few to begin with Upgrade the seat post to a suspension seat post for like $18 from eBay that way you will have front AND rear suspension 😉 invest in some better tyres now and put a better grade of Tyre on the back where the weight takes a toll on the pretty flimsy rubber, also that will enable you to carry more weight later on.
    Cool to see you have done the computer unlock trick…I didn’t find that until about 700km In and then once I unlocked it omg so much more fun 🤩 especially helpful when you need to gain lots of run up speed for a massive hill 😂
    This bike changed my life and gave me my fitness back ❤️

    I bought the black, skinny tyre one so it's good to compare these two poular models. I like the look of the fat tyre one more, however there are some points to consider when comparing the two. First the skinny is 3kg lighter than the fatty. The skinny has better mudguards if you're riding in wet conditions and the mag wheels have no spokes to adjust or replace broken ones.The skinny tyres have less rolling resistance than the fat tyres, so greater range from the battery in general. The fatty does have front shocks, which is a bonus as the skinny can be a bit of a hard ride on rough tracks. Lastly, at the moment the fat tyre bike is $170 more than the skinny one through Kogan. Six months ago they were the same price.

  • @ulyssest5812
    @ulyssest5812 2 роки тому +3

    Great review. Got the skinny tyre version and clocked 500km on it, still loving it. I've upgraded the front brakes to Shimano hydraulic $40 also from Kogan. I've unlocked the 25km/h speed limit and now have 9 levels of assist.

    • @TheHassewells
      @TheHassewells  2 роки тому +1

      Ooh I do wonder if I should have gone the skinny tyre version. The fat is very fat. Good tip with the hydraulic brakes- I might look into that! I have heard you can unlock them. I’m too chicken so far but maybe the need for speed will hit me soon. 😂

    • @ulyssest5812

      @@TheHassewells the fat tyre will allow you to ride on them gravel/dirt trails with more comfort and ease. 99% of my rides are on city bike trials, so i didn't need the suspension and the fat tyres. The model of the brakes is Shimano BR-MT200, really recommend them for price/performance. Level 9 assistance will take you to 35-40km/h :)

    I hope you can help me, I am not knowledgeable about bikes and a family member has bought the bike. We are trying to sort out the derailleur because the chain is coming off at the highest gear, but I wanted to ask you a question and I hope I can articulate myself well enough.
    When it comes to the gears on the handlebar, when the number is at the 1, so gear 1, should the bike chain be on the largest cog/spool, and then 6th gear, is the smallest cog, so easier to go uphills? This bike was delivered pre-built and I just found it weird that the gear had a symbol of a plus sign and when you press it, it down shifts the bike.
    I hope you can help me out!
