This was entertaining. I was feeling your pain throughout. I have a 2017 FZ-10 (I'm in the US) and do all my own work. Last major "project" was changing out the stock brake lines for Speigler braided steel. I'd done the same thing with my 2009 FZ1 (which I still have and it's for sale), resulting in the promised overall braking improvements. Took me about 2 hours to do the front and rear and that included a break for tea and sarnies.
Anyway, I thought I'd be able to do the FZ-10 in something like 3 hours. I thought that because I've changed air filters and installed a quickshifter which meant removing the tank for both jobs and removing the tank takes an hour easily, if you don't want to scratch it up, or break off the connector on the bottom of the fuel pump. (You can't replace the connector. You have to buy a new $350 pump). I definitely used way more profanities doing that.
However! Imagine my dismay on discovering that to change the brake lines...The tank must be removed!
So I start the job one Friday evening, making steady progress removing all the plastic, the panels etc, the tank mounting bracket just under the front of the seat and then made the decision to try to do it all without removing the radiator. Yep, that's a recommended step in the process.
I worked on it on Saturday, Sunday and then for a few hours each evening after work and finally got it all put back together by Friday night just before midnight. A whole bastard week!
Oh! I'm forgetting to mention that all of this BS is because these bikes have ABS and on top of that I've somehow managed to get to 68 and not know about back bleeding.
And for the piece de resistance I sat on my spectacles and spent over an hour straightening the frame and arms, putting the lenses back in and superglueing parts that were supposed to be soldered.
It might be helpful to know that if you're unsure about carrying out the above task yourself and decide that it's better left to a dealer service dept, my preferred and in no way crappy yammy dealership would charge me over 900 bucks to do it.
Needless to say that in order to preserve my sanity for what years I have left, I will be refraining from making any more mods to my bike.

Tried watching a different vid on how to get these fairings off. Dude cursed and lost bolts/nuts the entire time. You win the internet!

Thanks a million, man. I'm do a vinyl color change on a black 23 MT-10 and I have absolutely no interest in pawing at that much delicate plastic without a headsup. Cheers.

Glad to see how you got those parts off the tank, I'm looking to replace the top air intakes as mine look crap after spilling petrol on them

Can i ask how your ecu flash went? Got mine done at J33 and now when she's cold, engine races on idle for first mile or so. Took it back and he reflashed it, but still does the same. Ive got a Akro mid pipe and can.

Will this be the same for the previous generation (FZ1)?

stuffed my 23 mt10 into guardrail mainly frobt ebd end no frame damage $9500ish repair estimate! I am keeping her taking the cash and rebuilding it better (i hope) so this video is grear! Hoping 90% is cosmetic blemish parts and labor hoping I can even limp it home! most of that intake junk is not ride critical it seems. I know my forks got messed up and a large portion of damage total....I am thinking Ohlin forks! and forged wheels! Maybe brembo calipers but unsure what fits? Can I get ohlins made for brembos?

Calipers are standard sizes so as long as you get the right calipers to the right forks you should be fine.
Sorry to hear about all that mate, hope you're okay?

Hey, know I'm late to the party but I'm wondering if you have the links to the stuff you ordered? Specifically for the servo motor, block off plates and if you found a resistor O2 sensor. Just ordered an exhaust for my 2022 and I'm having a hard time finding those things for the 2022+ generation.

Servo plug is called a 'healtech' - you should be able to find these on eBay for our year.
You will need to keep the stock O2 sensors on the new bike as they've been causing issues here in the UK (not sure about elsewhere) especially when getting them flashed or dynoed

@sergeantsodom6969 so just unplug the O2 sensor from the new exhaust but keep it plugged in under the tank. I'd assume just tuck it away somewhere then. Thanks for the input. I'll order that right away

@jakelongbella654 No you'll need them installed in the new mid pipe too I'm afraid- I'd have a word with Andy at Junction 33 who has been advising me on this.
      Cheers!
