Fun fact: That kid actually has a name, as weird as it sounds, his name is 5. and those two twin girls doing the concussion are his siblings 3 and 4. According to 5 in the Peanuts strips, his dad hated numbers so much he just named his kids after numbers...
I never really liked Joy Division before, I came to this video and saw the Peanuts characters dancing to it, somehow it just clicked, and next thing I knew I was dancing with them. Thank you Charles Schultz and Ian Curtis.
Me too. My theory is that Ian should have sang for The Smiths , and Moz should have been with Joy Division. The world would be a better place right now.
Same here man, I think it's that I didn't understand the darkness of joy division without getting a little lightness and relatability in the mix first.
I am glad someone out there in this world feels a little happier by something so innconet, more people need to find happiness in the little lovely things :)
I have been listening to JD since I was 16, now almost 28 and I will never ever get bored of them, Ian says the words I always find hard to articulate.
Joy Division created catastrophically gorgeous music. Their music hypnotizes, inviting the listener to experience the pain of its author; the genius Ian Curtis........Even in cartoons
As a kid I used to watch Peanuts on BBC. It was a thing they used to put on for special occasions, Christmas, Easter, that sort of thing. I loved that programme because I kind of identified with Charlie Brown. Growing up I came to love Joy Division, again I kind of identified with the music. It's like it mirrored my inner thoughts and feelings. 2021 and I find this, a perfect amalgamation of two important influences in my life, childhood and youth. I am amazed and watching this with a big sad smile on my face.
I did too. Brings back strong childhood memories. This and the original Grinch that stole Christmas(60's-70's) In fact my life long love affair with mountains started in that cartoon
Oh. My. God. The kid shrugging his shoulders has always been what I envision when I hear the first song. Like for the last thirty years. Hello, friend.
The Peanuts crew jammin to their own grooves is perfect for JD. The gut grooving sounds are interpreted differently by each character listening and the result is unique display of their essence. When I hear their music, I instantaneously become one of these characters lost in the pure bliss of the vibe.
I don’t know if Ian Curtis would approve but having Peanuts teamed up with Joy Division seems so wrong but on the other hand it feels right. Beautifully messed up 🌚🖤🍁
Always been a big fan of JD. Thanks Ian for giving us these songs and lyrics wherever your presence may be. You will be forever in my record collection.
“Every punk band at the time were saying “fuck you. fuck you. Fuck you”… Joy division were the ones to finally stand up and say “I’m fucked” Tony Wilson
I was an early 90s skater kid and was into the grunge scene. Think of the film Singles. It wasn't until later that I realized that it came from the punk scene out of Manchester a decade earlier. Thank you for Curtis, Hook, Sumner, Morris and of course Hammet for making this music...Im sure there are others but like I said it wasn't my scene.
This music lifts my spirits because so many ordinary people can relate to to it, unlike today's false pretence so-called music! Thank you. PS. Love the video!
How the hell is Joy Division, one of the most influential artists in rock, punk and alternative not in the Rock Hall yet?! They should’ve been inducted in their first year eligible, 2004. Same goes for New Order, 2007. Also somehow the Peanuts characters just gives it the perfect touch, especially 4 and 5 dancing on the thumbnail. It’s like this is Snoopy’s band, not Ian Curtis’.
Joy Division is a cult band that didn't last long enough to get into HoF. I will say that their sound has been ripped off enough times for them to deserve to be in it.
I started to go clubbing late 80s and I can attest that the people were dancing like that the songs of Bauhaus, Sister of Merci and Joy Division. The first thing here that I notice is that the peanuts were dancing like in the song: she lost control.
The kid dancing with the dislocated neck is the greatest dancer in history. I absolutely love that move
I love me the sleepwalker!
just like leopold stotch from south park
That’s Shermy
Fun fact: That kid actually has a name, as weird as it sounds, his name is 5. and those two twin girls doing the concussion are his siblings 3 and 4. According to 5 in the Peanuts strips, his dad hated numbers so much he just named his kids after numbers...
@@ajlogomanthecreepysusiefan5502 haha, What?
This is the Joy Division video we never asked for, but we needed without knowing.
I was knocking on heaven's door and the video was published.
Have listened to Joy Division all my life well since I was 16, I'm now 57 Ians words still as strong , real atmosphere. (Pun intended)
great story man 🤘
haha me to , since I was 16 , I'm 57 as well.
Have listened to Joy Division since I was 16 too. Now I'm 18 haha
I'm 55 Brazilian, I've been listening to JD since I was 15 and I'll listen until I die!!! Ian Curtis 4 ever!!!
Started seeing them live aged 17. Best live band ever. Now 61. Best dead band ever.
I never really liked Joy Division before, I came to this video and saw the Peanuts characters dancing to it, somehow it just clicked, and next thing I knew I was dancing with them.
Thank you Charles Schultz and Ian Curtis.
I spent several days dancing with this video since I created bro HAHA welcome to it :)
@@michelangelocc you are really artistic
Michelangelo, my kid also loved it
@@heavymistress1398 thank you for all my friends 💚🌞
Huh, had never heard, but I like. I like a lot and dancing Peanuts gang, nice!
Me too. My theory is that Ian should have sang for The Smiths , and Moz should have been with Joy Division. The world would be a better place right now.
Back in the seventies me and my brother and sisters used to mimic this dancing when the cartoon was on our tv.
41 years ago and we still miss you Ian Curtis❤😘
Yessir
There's something unsettling, and downright weird seeing the Peanuts, characters dancing to Joy Division, but somehow its works.
yep :)
it does
@@iancurtis6490 how can you be ian curtis - unless, perhaps, that you are the ghost in the machine???
@@paintedbird1020 I'm the dead soul he sang about
oh it works babes it works and it aint unsettling.
I’ve tried to get into Joy Division several times, but it’s never really clicked for me. For some reason this was the breakthrough. Thank you
l feel the cartoons just give more positive and understandable tinge to the "dark" music.
I think that Ian should have sung for The Smiths, and Moz with Joy Division. I think they’d be a better fit.
@@Darilynn714 sounds kind of weird in my head
I was like w/Radiohead.

Three comments:
1) This is fucking brilliant.
2) This made my day.
3) Thank you.

They are dancing perfectly to the beat of Transmission!
Yeah haha
Yeah :D
You bet!

I have no idea who came up with the Peanuts idea, but, I love you.
one day I thought the same and I loved the idea Lol!
Look at them dance! Look at them go! See how they prance! What a show!
yes
The sickness is drowned by cries for more.
How much candy did these kids eat? They danced nonstop for twenty-five freaking minutes!
Only the internet could ever result in absolute ART like this
The dark haired girl with the hair tied back is throwing some pure Goth moves! Love it!
Her name is Violet

Epic not other words are enough x
He suffered more(mentally) than anyone I know. Because final solution for his pains...
See them dance. Sprites. And the music. How it moves them. Syncopation.
Carajo Joy Division y Peanuts. Combinaciones perfectas.
cuidado, es adictivo xdd

I always loved this Peanuts scene.
The kid at the very back of the stage with his arms stretched out in front of him. That is real quality.

Peanuts dancing to Joy Division. Brilliant combination!
This is my new happy place. I have loved JD for more than 30 years.
Great selection! Heart and soul is my favourite
look u miss me by the impures

gem........
This works so well - Lucy's such a vibe.
"Such a vibe" is such a non-Joy Division-y expression.
Lucy isn't even in this. That's Violet, Frida, Sally and I can't remember the the twins names.
Oh. My. God. The kid shrugging his shoulders has always been what I envision when I hear the first song. Like for the last thirty years. Hello, friend.
Love the little guy in the back doing the Monster Mash
Laughed my ass off, then fell in love. This can't be unseen. THX!
The Peanuts crew jammin to their own grooves is perfect for JD. The gut grooving sounds are interpreted differently by each character listening and the result is unique display of their essence. When I hear their music, I instantaneously become one of these characters lost in the pure bliss of the vibe.
That is so surreal yet equally brilliant. Whoever created this has a wonderful mind.
“I’ve been waiting for a guide to come and take me by the hand” never has a lyric hit as hard as this one
"Could this sensation make me feel the pleasures of a normal man?"
"I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling"
"Let it out somehow"
1st song : One of the best JD song ever.
Great taste
Two favorites in One..!!!!😍
Buy you a beer. ??😆🎩

I'm pretty sure Ian would approve it.
I mean..none of us knew Ian..so how would we know?
Ótima ideia unir a dança da turma dos Peanuts com a música do Joy Division ! Ian Curtis forever !
Always been a big fan of JD. Thanks Ian for giving us these songs and lyrics wherever your presence may be. You will be forever in my record collection.
Joy Division and Peanuts are both full of purpose.
Great Band, Thanks Joy Division❤
Start with heart and soul, the peanuts dancing with that kind of editing cuts ... its genius
Finally, Peanuts do Joy Division and Heart and Soul, my favorite song no less! I love it. Linus would have been great singing.
Transmission is darker and better than love will tear us apart...I expect few agree??...
What an amazing idea. Works so well and you could call it “enJoy Peanuts Division”. Thank you.!
One of my all time favorite bands since I was 17. This is my validation!
Shadowplay and Atmosphere are sadly missing. 🤘😌
From now on I'll always think of Charlie Brown characters dancing to "Heart and Soul"! Lol
the gif + that song is an addictive combination.
Me Too!!!
But for me , thier dance rhythm suits perfectly eith “means to end”
"Peanuts" forever♥️
The Addams Family Disorder & the 1930s stop motion videos are really well done. Great for Halloween 🎃
“Every punk band at the time were saying “fuck you. fuck you. Fuck you”…

Who needs the bloody HoF anyway, bunch of self-congratulating wankers.
No one needs approval from them.....JoyDivision, and me, and you proved that.
Joy Division is a cult band that didn't last long enough to get into HoF. I will say that their sound has been ripped off enough times for them to deserve to be in it.
I dont think anyone on this side of the ocean cares about the Hall of Fame
I primarily listen to classic rock; however, Joy Division is cool and unique.
To the guy that posted this thank you for making my day.
I never like Peanuts all that much, but seeing them dance to Joydivision was a breakthrough for me.
Hard to please JD fans, mostly due to the very personal lyrics. But this is a very good attempt and mix. Well done
This means everything to me, I was super infatuated with joy division during quarantine
Excellent! Thank you.
Oh my gosh !
OMG for GREEAAAAT !

Love the combination of popular and slightly obscure
I agree with everything with the exception that it works. Your description is exactly how I felt the moment I listened to it it’s almost sacrilegious.
Whoa, thanks for making this. Love the visuals. I’m gonna play this at my cafe

This is freakin' awesome!!!Thank you Michelangelo!!!!
It has a hypnotic feeling to hear and see the video, they must have been a super good parties.
You know Molly is there when the music stops and everyone keeps dancing.
The Peanuts are like an actual show :)
Violet's uppercut dance is absolutely badass and absolutely appropriate for this music. lol
This was a nice treat. Thanx
