This Fireleg Tarantula Is Facing an Uncertain Future
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2019
- Native to Mexico, the Fireleg Tarantula gets its name from a rich red hue that runs along its legs. True to its name, this spider can get quite fiery if provoked. When feeling threatened, it shoots out its urticating hairs, which causes irritation and a burning sensation to predators. Found in small burrows in the ground-normally the abandoned homes of rodents and lizards-this spider’s existence is now, unfortunately, under threat. The illegal pet trade combined with ongoing destruction of its natural habitat is leaving this fiery tarantula’s future uncertain.

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SPECIES OF TARANTULA!!!
One of the best for beginners who wants to start a hobby in keeping tarantula. :)
They are being Captive bred all over the world. They will not go extinct.
True, you will get a sling for $6++ in the Philippines. I actually owned 2 firelegs. The male died 2 years later, female is the only one I am keeping until this day.
@@roberttv7758Is the female still alive today? Heard they live for 25 years.
Every scientist ever. We need to preserve this remarkable species!
The Internet: r/nope KILL IT !!!
top 10 the most epic war in history

This is the Mexican Fire-Legged Nope
Pls let live this spooder
This species is heavily bred in captivity, so there is hope for them.
Keep the *legal* pet trade going. Lots of captive breeding going on.
Yes indeed, many endangered species are being bred successfully by hobbyists.
I get shivers every time it moves, it appears on my computer, when it zooms in. AND ESPECIALLY WHEN I SAW THAT EYE 0:37
When an arachniphobuc watches this video.
Please, UA-cam algorithms, let me watch just this one video without getting any similar recommendations...
- Sincerely, a curious arachnophobe
Spiders are nopenopes, but they are an integral part of our ecosystem and I have respect for them. I hope these will be fine!
They also make great pets!
@@seeker_of_lightning1997 Nah, I want a pet I can cuddle with. And I don't really like how they look.
They aren't going anywhere, they are a very popular species among tarantula enthusiasts.
Unpopular opinion but spiders are one the best insect's although scary to some is just fascinating for me
Spiders aren’t insects, they are arachnids
@@thepulle4722 oh yeah yeah your facts make yeah yeah

You liked your own comment?
OMMBoy soon, there will be more my man...
Reforcements will come brothers
STOP
O yeah yea
It's serious now we need to build a wall because it's from Mexico
Tarantula breeders are breeding them in captivity for the pet trade, i own ten T’s so far and one of them is a subadult female mexican fireleg, i love her, great species to own, it’s true they are a little more defensive than their cousins but really not much more than any other, my female mexican red knee gets mood swings and kicks hairs and bites my wooden tongs when i try to feed a cricket to her and she isn’t hungry, personality varies from specimen to specimen
It doesn't look as creepy as i thought it would.
Looked a little cute.
Imagine if spiders could fly
I was thinking of spiderman
ive always wanted a pet t.
Please do a Jerboa video 💛
Is this a Brachypelma Boehimii?

Even though I had an arachnophobia, this looks cute
tarantula is one of my baddrem
It has blue eyes ?
It looks like it wearing shorts
🕷🕸🕷
Big enough to wear a boots and put a saddle on it.
Big spiders make me cringe! 🔥
O hey dud
HANZZZ...
Only thing they got wrong, is this is not a defensive species as a pet at least. They are extremely docile. I have several pet tarantulas of this genus.
Boehmei is generally the more grumpy of the genus, but thats why we love them.
**arachnifobia intensifies**
Ive got 2 of these they are male and female and im planning on breeding them
I have a pet tarantula
It's legs are orange :| they're orange. Where are they red?
Insteresting
Who else is arachnophobic and blocked the screen and just read the captions ?
Cute
Ikr
Jk
Oh no a spider race is dying (sarcastic voice)
how come this species is endangered?
i know many tarantula keepers and i own 2 firelegs myself and these are captive bred all over the globe
i doubt they'll get extinct
It's endangered in the wild due to harvesting for the pet trade. Obviously the species as whole won't go extinct, there are probably more Firelegs in captivity than out in the wild
It's endangered because people like you purchase from the exotic pet trade.
Hiiii
Lol
But, is not creepy is cute.
Pog
First it's the endangered species to go then it's more common animals like cattle and fish and before you know it it's us and it's our fault. People keep talking about poaching and climate change but honestly not enough is being done about either topic. It'll be too late before anyone starts to care because we live in an individual society that only cares about whats happening/ affecting "me". Might be a tad negative but it is the truth.
Their endangerment in the wild has nothing to do with climate change or poaching. They are endangered because they are harvested for the pet trade but that's a decreasing practice because they are easy to breed in captivity. Hell there are probably more captive raised Firelegs than wild Firelegs now...
what?! so actual statistics or specifics given? just the whole video describing the spider and an 8 second vague comment at the end about environment destruction and illegal trafficking? clickbait bs
*I wanna poke it*
They are so pretty, and I'm arachnophobic.
