My yarn arrived last week and I started this blanket yesterday! The colorways are stunning! In 49 yrs of crocheting, I have made many blankets, scarves, totes, etc....with the granny pattern. I never tire of it. I have only 2 blankets in the pattern because I have always given everything away! Not this one!

I really like this way of adding it to the blanket as you go. And that way it doesn't matter what color you end the square with. Love it!

i liked the way you had two baskets and moved them when you were done with a round, the simplicity of it and joining as you go is a better way than waiting til all squares are finished. I certainly do not need to crochet another blanket but grannies are so beautiful. Thanks Anya for sharing yours. It's beautuful♥

This is great for making in the summer as you are only working with small pieces at a time until the end - I love it in the vintage colours but I have plans to make other colours too! xx

Hi Anja, sorry for been a nuisance but i have so much whole balls of yarn 🧶 and was wondering if you could please let me know what colours the vintage yarn pack consists of that i can check first in my stock before ordering the pack for this particular blanket, I do not want to keep on ordering when i might have all the colours that have been used in the vintage blanket .

Having seen your Jan 30 Sunday Live, I think I picked up a hint... Am I correct that one needs to use the three border colors on the lower-numbered granny rounds? If true, what is the suggested 'highest number", to have the best shot at having enough yarn for the border???? I am IN LOVE with that border!!!
Hi Nancy, I would suggest you'll be ok up to round 5 with the border colours, I wouldn't go much further though, just in case, Anja x

Yay I’ve just bought the jewel of the Nile pack and the vintage pack to make the beautiful creations you are showing. Can’t wait for the yarn to arrive. I have a question do you turn /flip your work every round so the squares stay in shape.

I think there are many users they will Start to crochet with this blanket, BUT there are Not realy know howe to make a grannysquare so that it will be rightangled, do you know what i mean🙈. Mine go slightly wonky so I flipped mine each row.

1 pack of 15 balls should be enough, I have yarn left, so you could easily make another 3 squares to make it bigger. Anja x

And secondly, yes, you just need to keep going round by round until your project is as big as you desire, whether it be one great big square, or lots of smaller squares joined together, it's a classic design that never goes out of fashion, enjoy, Anja x

In the yarn pack is there a colour recipe for the squares? I know that you say that they're random but some colors just don't look good together 🤣😂 and if I'm being absolutely honest I'm rubbish at picking out colors.
I think the beauty of these wonderful colours is that they will all look good next to each other, sometimes planning the colour order can be difficult and take time and fun out of a project, I’ve made granny squares with my scraps and just doing a random dip has produced some lovely colour combination.
Feel very confused. do i a complete square first or just 2 or 3 sides
The first square is a complete one, then each of the others you crochet on after that as you go, hope this helps, Anja x

What are the Colour names of the yarns? My aunt is interested but there is no colour names mentioned and no pattern.
