I'm really really interested in this vidoe Mis Jennifer, it's really usefula nd helpful to my students .. hope you'll do a few more like this Mis Jennifer .. Best regard from Aceh
I have been trying out the Portuguese translations to all those questions. It's quite a challenge. Where are you from? - De onde você é? I am from England - Eu sou da Inglaterra Nice to meet you - Prazer em conhecê-lo. Do you speak English? - Você fala inglês? So, when the boot is on the other foot, we can see the challenge the ESL students face.
Hi Jennifer I really enjoy how Andreia and Flavia participate together. I think it's a good idea if you invite the Russian lady Natasha from the old playlist someday as a guest. ☺ I have a question :(considering the non-native speakers ) When we speak English ,can we speak it using our real accent ,or it's important to speak it with American or British accent?? And thank you ☺☺🌺🌹🌹
Natasha should be at the intermediate level by now. It would be fun to see her. :) I think it's important to speak clearly enough to be understood, but sounding like a native speaker doesn't have to be the goal. When I correct pronunciation, it's because I want the students to sound clear and natural. Rhythm and intonation are especially important, so I work on that through modeling and repetition with these ladies. They repeat after me very well. Flavia and Andreia are learning American English because they're in the U.S., but English is a global language, so different accents will be heard and are acceptable.
@@Englishwithjennifer Ah, so you are saying that pronunciation and intonation are more important , I agree ☺☺ now I think that accent makes us unique . Thanks Jennifer 😍😍😍
I'm saying that the goal of pronunciation practice, in my opinion, isn't to make you sound like a native speaker. Sounding like a native speaker (American, British, Australian, etc.) isn't a requirement for being fluent and fully functional. Pronunciation of sounds should be clear enough to be heard correctly and use of rhythm and intonation should be natural enough to make your message and intention understood. Here's a good example. ua-cam.com/video/zlwRh9fotZQ/v-deo.html Antonio Banderas is clearly understood, and plenty of women (native speakers and non-native speakers) would love to hear him talk all day! Ha ha. I wouldn't turn him down for a dance. ;)

Hi Jennifer! If I meet someone from Brazil, is it play to ask them what brings them here? Can I say" so, what brings you here?", or does it sound like I'm looking for too much details?
Hi Hamza. I don't think that's rude. If you ask with a smile and a friendly tone, the person will answer. If they don't want to share too much, they'll give a brief answer.
