There were some very good examples of the 'to plus infinitive' rule and gerunds in this lesson. A word ending with 'ing' will never follow the word 'to.' An infinitive verb is the verb in its root form: read, cycle, play, stay, exercise. I like to read. It is good to read books as they will help your written work. They had to cycle to school as the bus wasn't running. If you want to play, do so quietly. We have to stay here a bit longer. I never thought I would have to exercise everyday to be a boxer. Gerunds are those verbs with 'ing' at the end, but are only gerunds when they are NOT part of a verbal phrase (I am running) and are the subject or a subject in a sentence: We had fun reading books. Playing quietly will be appreciated. We thought that staying here was the best thing to do. A lot of exercising goes on at the gym.
Yes, the battle with gerunds vs. infinitives usually lasts through the intermediate stage, but with practice, accuracy increases. I hope you'll be able to attend the live stream on Monday. It's a short story you may or may not know, but I think you'll enjoy reading it very much. :) It's thought-provoking.

"Enjoy" is different from "like" and "love."
I like to ride. I like riding.
I love to ride. I love riding.
I enjoy riding. (Only -ing is correct.)
@@Englishwithjennifer I've learnt it. Thanks for helping.
Have a good day! See you for Lesson 76 soon.
Hi☺Jenny, Do you listen to Nicki minaj' songs? Are those songs useful to learn English?☺🌹thanks💗.
I'm not a huge fan, but listening to songs in English is good in general. You can listen just for fun, but you can also learn the lyrics and sing along. Have you ever tried lyricstraining.com?
The boy 's name is Henry and girl's Cristina
They are enjoying with their ride
Please mam reply that where am I wrong
Thank you so much
Good practice! Corrections:
The boy's name is Henry, and the girl's name is Cristina.
They are enjoying their ride.
At a gym? Please. I usted it once AND my teacher told me i was wrong.
If you want to emphasize where a person is, inside and not outside, you can say "in the gym." For places around town, we use AT:
at the bank, at the store, at the gym.
General: I like exercising at a gym. (any gym)
The gym in my town: I go to the gym a few times a week. I like using the equipment at the gym.
See the phrase "membership at the gym" >> www.learnersdictionary.com/definition/gym
Hear a dozen examples of "work out a the gym" >> youglish.com/search/work%20out%20at%20the%20gym/all?
