Objective Hillman D Day Sword Beach

- My slightly excitable tour of Objective Hillman, which looks down on Sword Beach in Normandy and blocks the road to Caen. It far exceeded my expectations and the narration is completely unscripted as you can probably tell. Oh, and at the end I meant to say 'descendants', not ancestors! Please forgive my diction!
Thank you everyone for all your support on this video. For anyone that’s interested I have written a series of historical fiction novels, based on World War 2. I will leave the link here for anyone who wants to check them out…

Thank you for this very instructive video. My father Hauptmann Henry Kuhtz served there as the Chief of Staff for Oberst Krug. He lived in the bunker at the street. He moved in February 1944 until June 6th. He was wounded at D-Day noon in front of his bunker and became at that time a PW in UK. He returned back to this spot in spring 1959 15 years after. I have been there 2012, 2013 and 2014 and enjoyed the warm wellcome of the French.
Great tour video, thank you so much! Back there in a few days with a group of Brit senior serving officers and will recommend your efforts to them.
Going in June for 75th anniversary thanks for the mini tour!
In four visits to Normandy I never made it to Hillman, next time.
17 of us on a Jaguar tour are going in April and will definitely put this on our list to visit .
At 7.10 you see what appears to be two air vents one on top of each other. If you threw a mills bomb in the bottom it would just drop out. If you do the same at the top one, well it would fall out at the bottom. Are they airvents, traps, comunication holes or what? I have made the vist twice.
Great video my friend
