Thank you for watching! These photography videos are usually directed at beginner photographers. Take the photography tips and tricks with a grain of salt and try to understand the tips from a beginner photographer's point of view.
I bought my 2013 EOS Rebel SL1/100D in 2021 after shooting for almost ten years with a Nikon D3100, which I loved. I got beautiful images with my Nikon kit lenses until I lost my whole system when traveling in south America. After that, the Canon 100D was the most available option for my budget. My Rebel SL1/100D hasn't slowed down my photography one bit. To solve the dynamic range problem early Canon models have with washed out skies in outdoor shooting, I rely on ND and CPL filters to keep the color saturation and blue of the sky without losing the rest of my shot.
For any other image challenge, whenever people ask me whether they need a better camera body, I tell them to put their money into their glass instead. It continues to serve me well.
I shoot mostly street, nighttime, and concerts, so I need wide apertures and I don't want to mess with ISO noise in post-processing. The ISO can be a limitation on this camera, but it's easy to solve with a couple changes. For lowlight photography, upgrading my lenses to faster apertures were the game changer. I don't need to use extreme high ISO because I have Sigma Art series f/1.4 primes at 30, 50 and 85mm focal lengths, plus a great little Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 zoom. Additionally, the Sigma Art series makes two absolutely killer crop sensor zoom lenses that beat the pants off the similar Canon L series lenses and for several hundred dollars less. If you want to shoot mostly with zoom, their 18-35mm f/1.8 and 24-70 f/2.8 are the best glass you can put on any Canon APS-C camera.
If you can't afford the Art series, the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 that came before it is still a great lens, and Samyang makes a beautiful MF 85mm f/1.4 that you can grab used for ~$150. Christopher Frost has done really solid lens reviews on Sigma, Canon, Tamron and Samyang lenses for Canon which have informed my buys.
I'm also having tons of fun with the Lensbaby Optic Swap lens system (available in 30, 50 and 85mm focal lengths depending on which optic). Their original Lensbaby series are pretty inexpensive now at second-hand prices and you can get beautiful effects that make your photography really unique.
MPB is the best of all the secondary markets for camera gear. Plus you get their six-month warranty. Never buy new. There is no reason to eat all the depreciation on new gear when people are constantly upgrading and trading out their systems. You can get high-end glass at second-hand prices through them without any of the risk you have when buying from, say, eBay sellers.
To start I would recommend the T7 for photography or the R100. In the middle tear the T7i or R50, and on Top of the Line the R7 especially for birding. Now if you want to be a professional photographer I would save and invest on the R6 or R 6ii, later maybe once you start making money, the R5, R5ii, or R3.
T7 is hands down the best beginner camera it literally got me going in understanding camera settings and how to properly understand the concepts of photography all while being an easy camera to use, just bought my first full frame and went with an R8
Canon sl3 is the best beginner
Dude this is what I'm talking about! Love to hear it!
Truth is: There is no good Canon beginner camera, because ALL of them make you invest in the least appealing camera brand, tying you to a ridiculous R mount policy that won't leave you with alot of choice when it comes to buying lenses later. Go with L-Mount or E-Mount!
To a degree yes, but if you want to shoot on Canon these are the best options. Also the t7 is allowing you to go down the EF route giving you a load of lens options!
In my opinion, those who want to start with a DSLR, the most recommended is the 90d. Much more than t7(800d). But since I have experience with these cameras, you should choose a manufacturer that has more lenses for aps-c. For example Fuji or Sony
It's frustrating that there isn't a rich selection of lenses for Canon aps-c cameras
I agree with the lens selection being slim!
Never buy the first one if you want to stream or make videos. There is a rectangular box in the middle and you cannot make it go away. Just a warning.
What kind of rectangular box
also why would you buy a camera for photography to take videos buy a camera for videos
What would be the best lens for a T7 for sports photography? OR should a just switch to the R10?
Love your videos mate, always great advice! I've got a 650d with a 50mm 1.8 STM lens at the moment and thinking of upgrading to the R50 with a 50mm lens. Funny you brought up F1 earlier in the video as I'll be in the Aston Martin garage!
Oh not a bad gig being in the Aston Martin garage! You won't see too much of an image quality increase. The only thing you might notice is a bump in autofocus speed and accuracy.
Is a good video for people starting photography, but you should’ve included the canon rp (mostly for photos) and maybe the canon r7.
Cheers!
The R7 is mainly aimed at wildlife and sports photographers due to the crop sensor, not really at beginners entierly. The RP on the other hand is aimed at beginners but I find the R8 the better deal long term!
True, the r7 is more wildlife and sports focus but for a beginner can be a good option, in general is a good body can last years.
Definitely the rp is a beginner camera, but depending of the budget I would have added it to the list 👍🏼
And I agree with you the r8 is a great camera I have it myself as a second body and is really good
I am really new to cameras. There's a guy i work with on events like weddings and any such doing videos and photos and i use his old nikon 5300d. I want to get myself one but my knowledge on this field is close to zero.
What are my options without lense restrictions? Cheap ones though (any brands)...
Is the cannon better than Sony for photography?
What about the canon r50 compared to the r10 ?
Do we have to buy hair before starting the course?
Can you a video on how to achive the 90s effect on photos and videos and how to compres videos to uploudem on instagram ? :)
Could be a short!
@@Watzac thank you !
The canon t7 is amazing
isn't it!
I’ve just found your channel a week ago and I really like your content, the style of your videos it’s really pleasing. I’ve always wanted to pursuit photography and videography, but it has been harsh for me to do it. I’m from Mexico and started this with a canon sl2, then I bought the 80d which I truly believe was the camera that helped me to improve significantly and finally a month ago I was able to pair the 80d withthe sigma 18-35mm f1.8. This combo has helped me to give more quality to my project not needing to upgrade necessarily to a full frame world as this combo offers huge quality to the work I do and has been for me the best way to learn and improve.
Oh man this is awesome to hear! The 18-35 sigma is a staple for every great creator to have in their kit at some point in time I swear! Keep crushing it dude!
Cannon r50?
It’s not bad but for the price, it doesn’t sit 100% right for me
@@Watzac I went with the Sony A6700 🫡😁
I’ve always wanted the canon eos 250d (sl3 I think), if I get the T7 is it worth to upgrade to that?
Hey man
Im getting the canon eos 100d for 150 dollars. How is the camera for a beginner. Should i go ahead and buy it?
wow
Canon RP?
Locked to full frame lenses only shooting the initial cost up and compared to the R8 on this list, it's got nothing on it!
Woooow❤❤❤❤
DAYUM FIRST
Thank you my man!
Didn’t you just say Canon is not for Professionals?? That hurts
sony its better.
With the R10 and speed booster the Full frame EF lenses are great options for lenses. You would actually get more light in because of the speed booster.
Oooo good shout!
I've been using the T6 since it was gifted to me on Thanksgiving.& before that, I was using my smartphone, so i already learned a decent bit. But had no experience with a real camera, so it was a great camera to get me started but I'm in need of a hybrid camera since I also do videography.& am learning about cinematography. So ive been looking at the R8🤔
🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
How I wish I still have my canon 600d
Why u have no R50 in this list ?
Due to the lenses. The t7 is giving you a similar experience with far cheaper lenses.
Thanks for the video. I just got the Canon 2000d or T7 so pleased to see you recommend it. It's working well for me so far. I bought it so I could get some decent lenses cheap. Finding the autofocus not great but other than that I'm finding it a great camera and really enjoying using it.
Dude this is awesome to hear! I staeted on the T6 and it had everything I needed and more 🙏
Hey is your course a monthly thing or 1 time purchase?? Thank you
One time payment, lifetime access!
I started with the r50
Solid choice too!
Great video as always, are you taking the T7 on a field trip? That would be awesome 😀
This could be a brilliant video idea man! I might just have to film it!
@@Watzac can’t wait!
@@Watzac with the 50mm 1.8, good and reasonable combo
R50 should be on here for sure. It’s a great beginner/intermediate camera.
good video mate:)
Thanks mate!
Thabks for the video im thinking of switching from eos rp to eos r8 tbh..., also now i use ef to rf adapter my lens is rf 50mm f1.8 ef 2470mmf4 and ef 70 300mm mark and tbh the photos look very sharp cleand and goood with my rp and ef lenses
Lovely setup!
Your videos are immaculate and quality is out of the world.
Which is best APS-C or full frame
Also DSLR vs mirrorless which is best.
My ranking based on best one.
1) Full frame mirrorless
2) Full frame DSLR
3) APS-C mirrorless
4) APS-C DSLR
Can you please post a video on this also I am a beginner. I want to do more photography and time to time videos too. Please suggest which is best.
Thank you man! I’ll definitely get to video cameras this year too 🙏
