C80 solves most issues, has ND, better battery and has much better skin tones. You can really tell slog is used here in the skin R5c battery also has been fixed with the new battery, but does need clog2
Did you not feel you woukd if jumped if you had of known about the c80? For clarity, im in the sony eco system, own a komodo and have the c80 on pre order, as i think it trumps the fx3 and fx6
Also, Canon RF lenses are exceptionally sharp and contrast rich. They are made for stills photographers. They are NOT, (mostly), designed at all with video in mind. The newer VCM lenses are maybe, but not the majority of 'L' lenses. Really, if you want a video oriented lens, use cine lenses.
Let we customer hit canon where it hurts for being greedy, their sales price. I recommend everyone to move to other brands Sony & Nikon. No one is happy except canon locking down their lens ecosystem.
Are you joking? Sony's IBIS is jerky AF. Off that topic, does anyone else notice that most people who "switch" from Canon to Sony are more hybrid shooters who are clearly wanting more video-oriented features? These types of videos should specify in the title that they are video people.
I actually did highly consider the Lumix S5IIX; 6K 30fps Open Gate is a really really nice feature that caught my eye, I was able to test one out for a couple days. TLDR; I like the S5IIX but not enough to switch completely to it. But overall solid camera, especially for the price!
Indeed. For me, as a photographer and filmmaker, I photograph with Canon R6 and direct/sometimes dp with Sony FX3 FX6 based environment. Because Ive been a Canon guy for 10 years, I just can't separate with Canon's photo raw file, however Sony has better ecosystem and industry for a filmmaker where I live.
This is probably the most valid moving from canon video ive ever seen. Like the fact the you mentioned u had basically canons top rf cinema camera and addressed the lack of lenses, ibis and weight is so refreshing. Love to hear u actually experienced everything canon had to offer before switching
what a bunch of horsewallow... lack of lenses? 1st off on Canon use RF L yes its more expensive but an R5ii with 28-70 f2 for example is still cheaper than Sony's Flagship with a BUDGET lens becuase Sony charges more for the bodies... EF glass and Canon L RF is dynamite 24-105 Z f 2.8- for example... The reason to switch if anyone is being HONEST is because the FX6 Exploded and everyone at the lvl you guys are at is getting brought on as B cam with fx3 and 30- THATS a legit reason. Canon AF is solid the colors solid the 45MP R5 image is gorgeous. Canon doesnt have a camera that competes with fx30 for video as far as "pro" with a fan... thats also a VALID reason.
2:50 Sony has the worst ibis on the market
try canon or nikon, thats really the worst mate :) but i guess anyone has his opinion
I’m sony a7iv user that very true bro
@@janes1138 yeah canon is fine if you like wrapped corners XD
Only really good IBIS is from Panasonic or Olympus
@@sardanapalos and still better than almost no stabilization (on Sony)
This is a solid video- love the content and this setup goes crazy 🔥

No I would have stayed canon, they really should have released it sooner 🥶
Canon colors still have my heart

Funny you mention cine glass, I just picked up some Nisi Athena Cine Primes, hoping to use it for a bit and make a video on my thoughts 🤙🏽
And then the C80 came out 💀
Came here to say that
I also switched from canon for video, im on Lumix now, but the r6 is the only cam I'll shoot photos with.
I will say my R5 for photos is still on my top list for photo cameras, But we'll see how I like photos as I get more and more used to them

C80?
C80 starts at $7500 the FX3 is about half that. You could get a FX3 and a A7SIII and still have extra money.
@@vorjay true but from a guy who own 1dx before haha
Don’t get me started, I made this video and then they announce the Canon c80. Fits checkbox I wanted canon to hit.
But too little too late 🤷🏻♂️
no thks haha, it hurts my eyes
Should have looked into lumix s5iix

yeah epic rolling shutter and hdmi latency :D
i am sure it wasnt easy to switch from cannon to sony emotionally
