Just to clarify; we are _not_ apologizing for today's delay. This one is not on us and we have no control over today's delay. That said we do empathize with the frustrations and thus the apology, we want everyone to be happy and enjoy our F-4 as quickly as possible. Please however, do get in touch regarding the merchandise so we can make you whole. We have roughly a 2-3% failure rate in shipping (due to various factors) so if this has occurred, we need to fix that. Thanks!
Yeah I know it’s not Heatblur. It’s just sad they keep doing this. It’s not needed and shouldn’t happen as much as it does. It’s just sad they don’t have their act together. It lets Everyone down and just looks very unprofessional. I feel bad for you guys having to go through this! I’ve been involved in Very complex telecommunications engineering products and we Never Ever pulled crap like this for due dates or releases of products. We set a date and hit it no matter what! So I know this is avoidable, it’s just poor product management or project management. Well let’s hope tomorrow they don’t pull another 24 hour delay! Your product looks amazing from the videos I’ve seen and can’t wait to see it for myself. Thank you for the post as well.
You should be apologizing to all the early adopters of your F-4 module that get to sit on the sidelines while all your favorite content creators got it early... A good start would be to give them 10% in air miles on their purchase whether it was through ED or your website. I'm not talking about me as I refunded mine the day after your fave's started spewing out videos on it as that was my last straw. This was a HORRIBLE PR move and quite frankly, unforgiveable. It's like a slap in the face or rubbing salt in a wound.... I had absolutely no qualms with development delay time, but early release to the fave's was intolerable.
It's all ED'S fault. They could have launched stand alone without all the other updates they want to push. All these content creators got early access to promote it without issues, but us little guys must wait lol
@@dcs_onethe mirage F1 also got delayed due to ED QA practice. It’s really unacceptable for them to keep doing this and you’re entirely correct that it’s avoidable. As you mentioned the possibility of, this was most likely an ED issue, and the bug was unrelated to the module. The general consensus is that ED is making release build commits right up until patch deployment. The correct procedure would be to have a stable build of the upcoming patch that you can fall back on if a bug is found with the experimental build, so that you do not interfere with the release schedule. The fact that they are not doing this is baffling to me
Why would anyone who wasn't born yesterday think that this aircraft would be "THE FIRST ONE IN HISTORY" to release when they say? I have yet to see a release that wasn't changed at least 3 times
I don’t blame HB. I am very frustrated with the way ED has been handling things lately. Especially with the Razbam issue and now F4 delay. It’s not a good look and hurts confidence with ED.
@@ShatteredArchive5447 Supposedly According to Razbam, ED hasn't paid them for the last 6 months and that they are ceasing all development on the F-15E and other DCS modules. Some key people on the dev team quit over not being paid. Idk who exactly namedropped Heatblur but they claimed that Heatblur was in the know. Heatblur has made no comment on the allegations and that pretty much that has happened since. The F-15E looks to be dead in the water till ED can figure out where to start on finishing the F-15E. It's gonna be awhile till we probably see progress on it. Razbam looks to be longer developing for DCS.
@@ShatteredArchive5447 Razbam has at least for the near future quit supporting their modules. They state that ED hasn’t paid them. There is a long story behind it and I don’t know who is at fault and don’t care. It hasn’t been handled very well by either parties. I don’t want to get the background story wrong, so you might would hit the forums or discord. I just don’t know enough to go into a lot of detail.
It's your fault for pre-ordering. If you don't want to pay in full for a product that you have to wait months for, then don't pre-order it.... wait until it releases and then buy it. Nobody is forcing you to buy it early, and yet you complain that you had to wait to get it when that's exactly what pre-ordering is lmao.
I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. Bloody frustrating. Why did we need the ED patch? Content creator's have been using this module without the ED patch. Piss up in a brewery springs to mind. Dam unprofessional. ED thank its community and that is well received by us and yet they choose to merge a patch with a module release. That hurts the very community that supports them. Individuals took the day off work to receive the module that they paid good money for. Not acceptable at all. But this is my opinion.
Yeah we love that dozens of people have been having fun with the F4 on their early release but yet here we are getting screwed not 24 hours before the release but the very morning of the release. You can't tell us that ED didn't already know this was coming 😒 They let the early release users flood YT with videos even though they knew it was going to be delayed beyond May 21 because they're trying to boost pre-order sales. That's a really screwed up move.
@@dcs_one i dont understand, do you mean heatblur to say 22nd of may? because heatblur has no power in this decision and was all set up for release the 21st. its all ED. (from what i gathered, could be wrong ofcourse)
I don´t blame Heatblur. ED should have been aware about how many people has been waiting for this release, and made sure that the base "game" is ready for the F-4E release, not adding stuff to their own update that could, and now have, caused a delay. I can live with a delay of one day or two - but as said in this video, it wasn´t really necessary.
Nothing personal ! Just shows how passionate your fans are . Heatblur makes an amazing product , massive respect to the legends at heatblur , love you guys❤😊🤘
i'm not a fan of holding back for the sake of it. I would rather get a taste of the module before I decide to buy. It helps when the videos come out and the discount is still live. I can appreciate your frustration over that, but I do not share those same frustrations (over the release). Oversaturation of content is more of an issue for content makers who are worried their videos won't get as much play because of this saturation, it doesn't really negatively impact the consumer IMHO. All due respect of course, good luck with the merch thing...see you in the skies mate.
This is one of the most reasonable comments in this comment section. Thanks for that. There are multiple sides to every argument and I understand that my opinion might not be correct and there are multiple opinions which is normal. Thanks for the luck and see you in the skies too!
i really couldnt give a fart, i only got interested like 5 days before today and honestly if it comes out tomorow it doesnt really make a difference tbh
I think you make a great point about content saturation. I'm so excited for the module I can't help myself but to watch the videos, but I'm starting to almost feel some sort of burnout before I even got the module. I have always liked the phantom a lot but without DCS The nitty gritty of the plane was a mystery to me and that's what I was excited to find out about through the SIM. Now it kind of feels like I've kinda seen most of it :/ still excited to do it myself ofc
Some good points in this video. Well said. I have a nagging sensation that this is going to go the route of Razbam's SE, and DCS Apache. In those cases we had MONTHS of content from the Selected and the Devs...and then the delays or unfinished rushed product. When both finally dropped, after months of delays, the community was pretty disappointed at the state of the releases. With the RB tiff still a factor, development of the SE has stopped...better off then it was but still WAY incomplete. People were drooling at the release though, because if you believed the very limited communication, the Phantom was "right around the corner". What we got from HB was "We're almost there, the last few miles are the hardest. Be patient" I never brought into the possibility that DCS would allow two premiums to drop back to back because it didn't make any economic sense. I even had ED try and shoot me down on release cycles saying they were only influenced by completeness rather than economics. That was MAY 2023. I figured, given the very vague language from HB, that the release date was at LEAST four to six months away given the way the hype train runs. (Release trailer - shortly followed by Pre-sale - Full trailer/Airshow demo (like the F-14) - Tutorials, with the Select releasing content shortly before release, because HB isn't like RB...right?) Summer crawled by, no news/no content, then Fall, and just before the Christmas season, - The Airshow, the Presale and crickets (Except for a few content stalwart providers promising "in the future...". Other than that, it was "We're almost there, the last few miles are the hardest. Be patient". Late September, my own projections and innate pessimism, pushed it into Q1-Q2 at the earliest. I gotta admit though, with my love for the Phantom, I bit on the hype train, even though tutorials and content were missing, and HB went back to being silent. Then in March, we found out it wasn't the last few miles, it was "we gotta go back to the very beginning" and rewrite major elements of code. But the promise was before the end of May at the latest. TBH, HB started opening up a little bit regarding the issues and threw us a HUGE bone with the manual and that was VERY appreciated. As the back end of the deadline approached, we suddenly get the official release trailer and a FIRM date. Well, now THAT date has passed and not long ago Iron Mike is 'hopeful' to get it out 5/22. The content is has been good, but yeah, it's now a bit oversaturated. I heard one the Selected say he was getting links to several new builds a day! It seems that there should be a time, where all the development halts for a moment, and the package is sealed and sent rather than banging it all out even up to the moment of release...and failing. That involves two things - the patch issues should have been ironed out a while ago. This shouldn't have been a last minute CFU. Secondly, don't release a date if you can't meet it. Granted, it's "ONLY 24 hours"...is it? Release the content and the trailers, maybe spread it out a bit. It's been a long trip, and we have no idea whether we are "there" yet. I know ED muffed this one with the patch (no apology expected), but it sure seems the closer it gets the farther away it actually is. I'm an old fart, and I have loved the Phantom since before I was fully potty trained. I'd sure like to finally after all these decades, and the decades of DCS ignoring the Phantom (Grrr Belsimtek) , to finally get to ride the ride I've dreamed of ever since my first full sentence to my Dad was, "Look at the airplane". I'd like to ride the wind in her before I forget what "potty trained" actually meant. I'd actually like to fly my first true, unrequited love into the West with scarf flapping in the wind, rather than limping painfully to that door in the distance.
Do you think maybe you could be investing a little too much in the release date of a video game module? This is something you do for recreation. The healthy way to approach new video game releases is, don't obsess over them, wait for them to come out (whenever that ends up up being - who cares, it's just a video game, not your wedding date) wait a little longer to see some reviews, then decide if you want to buy it. Getting your hopes up to the point where a mere 24 hour delay in release ruins the whole thing for you is a little much. I mean you just killed the DCS Phantom for yourself because "I want it now not tomorrow!".
@@dcs_one They've got a point though. People are getting way too invested and tied up into pixels. Whatever culmination of situations leading up to this is absolutely meaningless to your day-to-day life other than the fact that you don't have a fake airplane on your computer. This is literally nothing new. It isn't Eagle Dynamics. It isn't Heatblur. It's an industry-wide thing that has been going on for a long-ass time. Microsoft and Asobo have had to delay a major sim update for almost two months now because of issues. Every single major addon release for MSFS, P3D, Xplane has had delays. Almost none of them have hit their target date. Several addon developers have even had to delay their updates for several weeks and even months, and then delaying again and again after running into issues. This is not a new problem, and quite honestly, anyone who complains about it doesn't really know what's going on in the background. There's a reason for these delays, and there's a reason they don't always hit their target dates, and those reasons are not always apparent until the very last minute. If this issue was solely with ED, then I might agree with you. But if you go look literally anywhere else in the flight sim and gaming industry in general, you will find that this is not a unique issue. There's nothing "wrong" at ED. The "problem" is with the customers whose ONLY flight sim product is DCS World. This is all you see, this is all you care about, and so you don't get to see everything else going on in the industry. Most DCS customers are oblivious to the rest of the flight sim world because they refuse to fly anything else(Which is perfectly acceptable, it's just part of my point)
@@dcs_one I get it. I've been there too. I'm just saying, you could make it easier on yourself by divesting yourself a little. At the end of the day, it's a video game, and a one-day delay.
That's not issue, DCS keeps on missing deadlines REGARDLESS of the time of said delay. This shows that maybe not everything at ED is going well. Plus the lack of communication is also not helping, especially waiting up the last minute to communicate that there are issues.
Just one day turns into a week most times with Eagle Dynamics specifically and not even that but they sold multiple announcements with the date saying 21st of May.
Firstly, I want to say this is a great video which articulated your thoughts clearly and fairly. In your description you stated you've been keeping an open mind and that shows. I want to touch on a few things. Merchandise: I'm with you on this. That's something that needs to be addressed by Heatblur with appropriate refunds/reimbursement. Boiler-plate customer service replies are also not up to scratch. Keep in mind that in most circumstances, a seperate company will be provided with the designs and will handle all order processing, print and dispatch. It's rare that a company deals with stock/orders purely themselves. This may play a role here. Again, not excusing your experience, but could be a true reason behind it. Regardless - this is Heatblur's responsibility to you, as a customer. This should've been sorted out sooner. Overly-long Pre-Order Period: Also not great and hopefully something that can be handled better next time. It does however seem as though there were some major issues regarding their in-game , web-fetching UI - which they clearly addressed on one of their videos. I can sympathise with a major and important system breaking and wanting to make sure its working. We've seen what unfinished releases can look like. However, such a long pre-order period sows a sense of uncertainty and even distrust that is completely unnecessary. However, I disagree regarding content oversaturation. This has been a fantastic chance for many talented CC's to showcase a game-changing module whilst also providing a wide range of perspectives. It's been quite encouraging to see a major developer put trust in a wide range of individuals to help market their product. That's extremely rare and I'd be careful about discouraging that. If you trust HB to make a great module; they trust these guys to give you some great insights. It also strikes me as inconsistent to both be excited for a modules release and wishing a developer well, to also be deeply frustrated when seeing a glut of content. It's worth remembering most of the content has been tutorials that have been created for post-release convenience too. Whilst you haven't made this argument yourself, I'm seeing comments regarding content creators are getting things "for free", having an advantage and huge income from streaming/producing related content. I'm aware of the margins that most flight sim CC's make and I promise you, it's not anywhere close to what some people think it is. Also, many of which had to cram in extra hours learning modules like the F4 at extremely short notice, creating clear videos/tutorials for people to get insight into, and any additional production quality. I've worked in design for over nearly 15 years and I don't know how some of these guys have churned out the videos they have, in such a short amount of time. Lastly, this is business. Bottom line is a product needs to sell. If it doesnt? No more future modules. It's really that simple. This is one of many ways for HB to get content out in a cost effective manner. The only real overheads are their time and the PR builds of the modules handed to CC's. I recognise the frustration and disappointment everyone has when there's YET another delay. But a single day to make sure everything's as it should is so small in industries like this. I've talked to a fair few developers and every one of them wants to make amazing products for everyone to enjoy. They wouldn't have delayed unless it was *absolutely* necessary. You've put your finger on the pulse here, hopefully my perspective has added to the discussion. Cheers DCS ONE! 🤙
When it comes to the content creators having early access to it it never bothered me much for other modules but with this one it just does...especially now that we are waiting yet another day while the youtubers have been flying it for over a week now and are probably getting ready to post their 10th video on the thing that has essentially spoiled everything, that's why I'm kind of ignoring the phantom vids till I actually get my hands on it now. As for it being rushed while I have not been in the loop when it comes to the various delay reasons and such I'm assuming at least a small part of that was heatblur's devs being so excited to show off their work that it just got out of control and turned into this...either way though I cannot wait to scream down the runway with this bird tomorrow!
Great video…. I think you summed it up with professionalism. My impression is slowly turning to ED, Heatblur and others as hobbyists and not actual professional companies. Just an observation, their works are fantastic but outside of that it seems the entire DCS community is an episode of “Silicon Valley”.
@@dcs_oneheatblur too, don't say that just because they commented on the video. Heatblur did a big part of the job by working on this module for so much. Then they announced it will be released in 2022, then in 2023, then in winter of 2023-2024 AND ON THE LAST DAY OF WINTER boom delayed 2 months (even tho they said April and no later than may we all kbew they were going to release in late may because they arr scammers)
Thanks for this video. I was looking forward to the module since last year and was confused why it didn't show up in the module manager... As Hearblur i would be slightly angry, because ED screwed up their patch timing again. But you're right on the content saturation. The first F-4 vs. x video was fun, but do we need a video for each cold war airplane just right now? Why tutorials already when i cannot follow them through in the game. This really triggered my fomo and made me avoid F-4 content in general, because i want to play it, not watch others playing it.
don't waste your time watching, it's just a rant about how he got beat to the punch by a mile. green eyed monster of jealousy or daddys princess video rant.
@dcs_one agreed, but I had issues with the new version of DCS and troublshot the issues to having the free UH60L and MH-53 modules. So I've not even experienced the F-4E module yer.
This is funny! It is like people forget what the last modules releases were like. There are always delays. We have a ton of Kiowa content right now and it will be another six years before you see that module! You people are so silly.
sounds more like you're upset because you don't get the opportunity to farm views on day 1 because other people already have access to it. you understand that's how marketing works? Heatblur is a business and they want to sell as many copies as possible which is fine. People get to learn more about how to use the systems and operate the aircraft so they have something to do while waiting for launch and can jump right in knowing the basics so they can start enjoying it immediately. The merch thing is totally fair and cobra has already commented and stated they would fix any issues with merch. clearly they experienced many more orders than they were expecting and its probably logistically difficult, they are almost certainly using a third party to facilitate the merchandise. Also the delay is ONE DAY lmao. Its literally ED's issue. so much whining in this video as well as so many other people all over the place. If they ended up releasing it later as you suggested they should have in the video, I'm sure that would've ended up with you making another video about how it got delayed and whining some more. You pre-ordered a module and in return saved 30% off the regular price. patience really isn't a thing in this community.
I’ve waited patiently for 7 months. They didn’t have to say they are releasing it on the 21st but they did. I only explained the situation that lead to my frustration.
I'm not buying F-4 Phantom, waiting for Euro Fighter 2000, it is amazing module by heatblur and DCS. But I'm skipping this time. I need more red aircraft or 4 Gen Fighter
I don’t know who’s “fault” it was or what the issue was…but when I’m told “we had a problem with a final test”, I ask myself “why in the hell are you waiting until the day of (or even before) release to do final tests? You test everything weeks before so you have time to fix things. Don’t wait until hours before release to “do some final checks” Im not one of them- but a lot of people took time off or rearranged schedules for this.
While it was certainly frustrating to see the release get delayed this morning, I think it is important to put this into perspective. Any player who has been involved with DCS World for a while will know that this kind of thing can (and does) happen. It isn't ideal and it certainly can be irritating but one has to be emotionally prepared for small delays and just take them in stride when they happen. It isn't the end of the world. As you say, this wasn't really a big deal. Beyond that. There is one more thing I want to talk about. I get that you are a UA-cam content creator who is clearly trying to make it in this space. Likewise. I understand that there is a level of competition involved with other DCS content creators. You are all trying to grab the playerbase's attention and there is only so much "UA-cam audience engagement metrics" to go around. That said. Companies are not beholden to UA-camrs. This is going to be harsh but the UA-cam content creator scene for a given hobby is pretty much free (or at least really cheap) advertising when viewed from the perspective of the companies involved in such hobbies. Eagle Dynamics, Heatblur, or any other third party doesn't really need to consider the feelings and situations of the UA-cam content creation sphere. You are just a inexpensive advertising platform. It sucks to be that harsh but it is true. A developer like Heatblur doesn't answer to UA-cam in regard to advertising/marketing strategy.
Heatblur has the right to give their modules to creators for testing and making content, they also have the right to give them the green light for posting before launch.
I’m not a content creator, but echo feeling annoyed with content creators spamming us with videos on something we paid for, but are getting access to later than they are. Just my 2 cents.
I feel like the "content saturation" part is more of a personal problem rather than the F-4's. Nobody is forced to watch the videos and just like with story games, don't watch videos of the game and then get annoyed when you learn story you haven't reached. I understand where you may be coming from, you are a small creator who wants to make a video about it to gain traction but its not other creators problem. Also the last minute delay wasn't on heat blurs side at all, it was something with the updates ED is bringing
Very frustrating indeed and I feel the delays have been handled poorly with a bit of a lack of respect for the pre order paying community. I actually refunded my original pre-order which was via Heatblur and it took 22 days for the money to be payed back in to my account! Not very good by all accounts. Then there's the thousands that have arranged to be off work etc. For the release which was promised today. Extremely frustrating for all of those people my self included. Fingers crossed that the Phantom will be with us tomorrow...but I won't be holding my breath!
Very upset with ED over this as today was my last day home before getting out on the road- now I'm gonna have to be on the road for a month before I can fly my F-4 because ED couldn't just say "Oh well" and just drop the Phantom and wait on the other features.
"content Saturation" is really a made up problem, but it might be from yours perspective since you are a content creator. For me, Having almost daily GS phantom video was a bliss. Trailers, soundtrack, all of that
Ya how ED pulled this off kinda silly and im a huge fan of heatblur but i do feel the same way about "these" content creators making 30,50+ videos before the release.... and this format has kinda dulled any excitement about this being a release when youtube is just stacked with phantom vids. This "the content creators are beta testers" is a terrible look imo.....if they were, they wouldnt be using it to pump views on their channels with an unreleased product. That being said heatblur is entitled to advertise however they see fit and i have no doubt it will be a fantastic product as their f14, and viggen are both top class.
Keep doing what you are doing, but (I'm a lot older than you) and the world is not a coin in the slot for 100% delivery anymore .... that stopped maybe 15 yrs ago. You signed up for an OPEN BETA experience and you got that .... not complete on day one. Maybe stop disrespecting the teams efforts and back them?
bro whats the point of making this drama style video literally like a day before it comes out, we have all been frustrated by the delays. This video honestly just seems like crying over the fact that your small channel didnt get CC access. ofcourse theres gonna be alot of videos.
You don have to watch it. I wanted to share my experience and apparently I wasn’t the only one that felt this way. I don’t mind a lot of videos I just don’t get why they had to be before the release.
@@dcs_one do u realize how ironic it sounds when you tell me not to watch a video and then in the same breath you complain about too many videos too watch...
@@dcs_one no i totally get it im just saying you crying about this is childish, everyone has gone through the same wait you have, and its coming out in literal hours. The only thing i agree on is that you have had to wait so long for the merch, i got mine very quickly so i get that frustration.
top tip - don't put conjecture out there if you don't know the facts. Get your facts first then put a video together, this confuses, and it just dilutes the facts - this is on ED not HB. I don't DV often- ESPECIALLY FOR DCS content but this gets one.😠I get that it's a rant but facts before emotion.
Can we act like mature people and stop pretending that ED or Heatblur ruined our lives with those reports?... I might sound rude, but come on, we are acting like spoiled child. I'm sure that HB and ED (and other third party devs) would have preferred to release their module on time, but sometimes, it's just not possible if we want good products. So please stop crying, and let them work peacefully. And if you're tired of delays, don't pre order. That's simple as that. Keep calm and fly the F4 tomorrow (maybe 😂). I go back in my mighty and beloved F14 while waiting 😁
The sad thing is a lot of people took a day off work to play it today. I don’t get why they rushed the date. No one would have cared if it was a couple of days later
Yikes, honestly better off taking the day after off. Especially with DCS it seems, make that two days after lol. BG3 was the only time I took the day off on release day as I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Anyway, hope the garden looks good :).
I don’t know if my previous comment shows up but it seems to have glitched. If MSFS would get the same functionality and detail in military aircraft I would too
You are aware that the latest delay is not up to Heatblur? Why uploading a Video without being very certain about the circumstances? This delay was ED's decision, not Heatblurs resulted by a non Phantom related blocking issue, most likely somethings on EDs very own List of Patch items. Apart of that, watching your Video was really making me laugh about your crying..."buhhh, everyone can make Videos before I can..buhhh, thats sooooo mean"..god damnit buddy, grow up and read the signs. You're yet (and most likely will remain) a small light among the DCS Content creators. Those guys already have a name, you dont. So stop crying and wait until you're next in line.
At the end of the day both ED and Heatblur set the release date to the 21st. Yes, it’s EDs fault but they never should have set the release date so early if they couldn’t go through with it. Who does checks 4 hours before release? Last part of the comment just shows that you should have payed more attention to what I was saying instead of laughing. Let’s see you make a successful UA-cam channel shall we?
@@dcs_one Who said I have the desire to run a successful channel? That would bring in way too much sweat, no thanks. But I have a good idea of what to do and what not to do in order to run a good channel. And what's an absolute nogo is to prove lack of knowledge when complaining about somethings. Let me ask you, how long are you member of the DCS Community? Maybe you just don't understand how things are working here.
so your problem and your frustration is because you can´t milk the cow? You can´t discover the Phantom for yourself because of all the tutorials and content allready out there? Smart tipp, don´t watch it ;)
You do realize ED and Heatblur need to decide on the Release Window together?! The problem is the build process, where all parts of the release candidates are compiled for the first time and then tested to see which build has the least amount of issues. If you encounter a serious issue in that build, you need to fix and compile/test, again. That's not even making assumptions on what the problem is, or which part of the build (Phantom, Core, other modules) may or may not has a problem, because it is irrelevant and can't be avoided. If you put together dozens of pieces of complex programming these things happen. The only way to avoid it, is to not tell about the release until it is actually released... but that's difficult from a marketing perspective. 🤔
The delay is an ED delay of a patch that includes the Phantom.. this isn't a HB only delay.. honestly, anyone here bitching about another "delay", would have lit the world on fire if they got the F-4 back around the OG launch window and it had bugs.. I get wanting the Jet.. but my god you internet cry babies man.. Don't like the idea of potential delays? DON'T PRE ORDER ANYTHING EVER. As for the Merch, HB isn't making any of it. They work with small companies to make quality merch and those companies still have to work their normal businesses and don't mass produce pre-order items for anyone. Why should they? If they over produce and under sell, they waste money and inventory space. They make the products in small batches and send them out. That all has lead times.
you don't need to buy from fools something that doesn't exist, only when it's official, only then buy 🤗 in my arsenal I have FC3, Mustang, Mig-21, Ka-50-2/3 and Combined Arms, I'm waiting for Mig-23, Sukhoi-30 and French Rafale 🥰🥰
When a company delivers bad news, project delays, cost over runs, etc... it is better to present the worst case as the new expectation. in doing so you then strive to make it sooner. in this case if Heatblur had said late May possibly June with an unpublished internal deadline of May 31st we would all be happy when it released on May 22nd, second I think ED would be better suited to just say coming soon or this week, telling us the exact day and time a patch is released it just setting it up for failure. All of that being said I can totally understand Heatblur's perspective they are really excited about this module and the hard work they have put into it and want everyone to share in that excitement, I just hope that lessons have been learned for future modules.
ED are getting to become a joke, still cant get over how crap the Kola map looks. This delay is unjustifiable and not on Heatblur. I'm on steam and will buy the F4E first possible chance but seriously limiting my expenditure on other DCS products for the foreseable future. As soon as an alternative becomes available ED will lose market share overnight. This level of ongoing shoddyness isnt acceptable. DCS is an incredible product, but we have a right to expect better.
@@dcs_one Sorry my friend but the thing is you so called "content creators" are all the same .. i mean.. come on.. if you was given a module early from Heatblur you would 200% be posting videos left right and centre, wouldn't you for your "likes and subscribes"?? so please don't complain when your UA-cam boyfriends do just that. IMO no contact creator should have got the F4 early, I paid my money ( they probably didn't) why should they get it first?? Suppose that's on Heatblur. IMO modules like this don't need bloody youtubers yabbering on about it to convince people to buy, sells itself. It just baffles me how long it would have taken you to make this video for what is just a game ( sorry sim) ;) Now, all that being said I was the one on UA-cam and selected and watched your video so.. Keep safe and have fun when you get your F4 :)
@@harrysmith1986 now this comment has some meaning and structure! I would make content, as I said in the video. However I doubt I would be posting one every day up to launch.
Don't get frustrated as this is just the trail & tribulations we have as DCS module owner, its not the first or last.....If you direct ED store DCS owners get it first, then please let us Steam DCS owners know ;P - See HB response below DCS one, should ask for a pre-release version. But looks like HB have hit it out the park again, raising the detail of DCS modules higher, as the F-4E is a good looking module.
The problem is that ED constantly misses deadlines. And having been a very early pre-order client, it is beyond ridiculous that these "content creators" got it a week or more early and simply just played with it in random A2A/A2G scenarios. Just how how us peons would play it. Massive slap in the face.
Why nobody is complaining about the cost of modules general is the reason why they keep escalting. Most things are £40-£65. Which is ridiculous and ED are not restricting this.
The module prices have been like this since I started DCS and maybe they are overpriced but at the same time there is a lot of work put into them. ED sets their own prices the same way
I don't get why so many people are butthurt about a day delay. Shit happens, and it seems it's not even Heatblur's fault. Feels like this vid is just milking the general outrage of pre-order bunnies.
Thanks!
I didn't mean to imply it was on Heatblur Simulations. I hope you understand where I'm coming from. Cheers to tomorrows launch!
Well said. I had issues with my merchandise. I contacted HeatBlur and was made whole within 2 weeks(tm lol). Well said HB full support.
@HeloHounds you know it's called advertising, right? You want free shit? Become a content creator and stop acting so entitled.
It's all ED'S fault. They could have launched stand alone without all the other updates they want to push. All these content creators got early access to promote it without issues, but us little guys must wait lol
Yeah, lol
For sure!
Heatblur is ED's fault. Yes.
tbh this last delay is a ed issue and this plane will be the most complete module to release into ea so 1 day isn't that bad and hb is the best
I know, it just seems avoidable. And yes, HB is the best.
@@dcs_one doent this happen with almost every big module launch at least 2 delays

there it had a 2 week delay twice :)
@@dcs_one
It’s very unfortunate that we are accepting that
So weird another delay, after SO MANY content creators made videos and tested the module
It’s because of ED. It is unrelated to the Phantom
I don’t blame HB. I am very frustrated with the way ED has been handling things lately. Especially with the Razbam issue and now F4 delay. It’s not a good look and hurts confidence with ED.
I'm out of date what's the Razbam issue?
I don’t want to get the background story wrong, so you might would hit the forums or discord. I just don’t know enough to go into a lot of detail.
@@colinkelly990 Ah okay thanks. Was wondering where any progress on my 15E was, lovely.
ED needs to get it together
Great video that sums up how many of us feel so many months after paying in full for a product.
I knew I am not the only one
I agree with your opinion. If they couldn’t get the patch ready in time they should have either set a later release date or done their tests earlier
Yeah we love that dozens of people have been having fun with the F4 on their early release but yet here we are getting screwed not 24 hours before the release but the very morning of the release. You can't tell us that ED didn't already know this was coming 😒
They let the early release users flood YT with videos even though they knew it was going to be delayed beyond May 21 because they're trying to boost pre-order sales. That's a really screwed up move.
ED has some bad practices that lead to a disappointed and frustrated community
i just expect every new module to have a delay at some point, i dont get too excited anymore. once its in my inventory of aircraft, ill be excited :D
It’s normal just they decided the release date. They could have just said 22nd in the first place or the 25th and no one would get mad
No worries. We can wait a bit longer.
Yes we can!
I completely understand for disappointment .. especially with the merch.

i really couldnt give a fart, i only got interested like 5 days before today and honestly if it comes out tomorow it doesnt really make a difference tbh
For you it might not be that bad but a lot of us have waited 7 months since the first trailer
@@dcs_one yeah
I think you make a great point about content saturation. I'm so excited for the module I can't help myself but to watch the videos, but I'm starting to almost feel some sort of burnout before I even got the module. I have always liked the phantom a lot but without DCS The nitty gritty of the plane was a mystery to me and that's what I was excited to find out about through the SIM. Now it kind of feels like I've kinda seen most of it :/ still excited to do it myself ofc
Yeah it is similar to burnout. Still can’t wait to see it for myself
(Release trailer - shortly followed by Pre-sale - Full trailer/Airshow demo (like the F-14) - Tutorials, with the Select releasing content shortly before release, because HB isn't like RB...right?)
Summer crawled by, no news/no content, then Fall, and just before the Christmas season, - The Airshow, the Presale and crickets (Except for a few content stalwart providers promising "in the future...".
And with all THAT...the patch is now out!
Very good timeline. At least now we have reached the result of the long wait and hopefully it will continue to improve
I didn’t say it ruined the whole thing. It’s a culmination of situations that lead to my frustration
It's just one day
Yes. Yes it is.
That's not issue, DCS keeps on missing deadlines REGARDLESS of the time of said delay. This shows that maybe not everything at ED is going well. Plus the lack of communication is also not helping, especially waiting up the last minute to communicate that there are issues.
@@isaiahaguilera7710 Lately the F15E has lot of CTD issues. Idk just let them fix it.

Great points and a well structured comment! Definitely have added something. Safe flying!
I can’t wait too. See you in the skies!
Delay is allright for me. I can wait.
Excellence takes time.
Yes it does. But the excellence is ready. The platform isn’t
Great video…. I think you summed it up with professionalism. My impression is slowly turning to ED, Heatblur and others as hobbyists and not actual professional companies. Just an observation, their works are fantastic but outside of that it seems the entire DCS community is an episode of “Silicon Valley”.
Thanks! I feel like there is lack of professionalism from ED

Yeah, I got burnout just from the amount of content
I’ve been a DCS user since they had but one or two planes in total. Multiple delays are, in my experience, the same-old same-old.

First person on UA-cam to address this, got my Sub!
sounds more like you're upset because you don't get the opportunity to farm views on day 1 because other people already have access to it.
you understand that's how marketing works?

EF will be amazing
I don’t know who’s “fault” it was or what the issue was…but when I’m told “we had a problem with a final test”, I ask myself “why in the hell are you waiting until the day of (or even before) release to do final tests? You test everything weeks before so you have time to fix things. Don’t wait until hours before release to “do some final checks”
Im not one of them- but a lot of people took time off or rearranged schedules for this.
Yeah final tests should be done much earlier
Relax guy... life will be OK
Life is great, enjoying it
I’m not a content creator, but echo feeling annoyed with content creators spamming us with videos on something we paid for, but are getting access to later than they are. Just my 2 cents.
Respect what they do, but I think Heatblur shouldn’t have let them post so much so early
Well......what are your guesses, what will be the next postponement date announced today?? :D :D :D
My guess is that it won’t :D
@@dcs_one now mine is too. Fucking delays.... :D
the delay sucks, but this one is on ED. just glad i did not take the day off work and its only 24hrs. still excited to continue to suck with sparrows
I’m still excited too
I feel like the "content saturation" part is more of a personal problem rather than the F-4's.
And I didn’t blame other creators. I just feel like they are diluting the hype by having everyone making content about it a week early.
Didn't they (DCS) have the same issue with the F-15 Strike Eagle. Where it was delayed a couple months.
Yes, but that was a bit different.
It is very possible that it will get delayed again. And I know it has been frustrating for a lot of people, myself included
I don't care if it's delayed. Take the time you need so that when it's released it's trouble free.
This time it was EDs fault and the Phantom is ready. All be it they could have just set a later release date originally
I agree 100%. Thanks for making this video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very upset with ED over this as today was my last day home before getting out on the road- now I'm gonna have to be on the road for a month before I can fly my F-4 because ED couldn't just say "Oh well" and just drop the Phantom and wait on the other features.
That is very unfortunate. And you’re not the inly one in the community.
Welcome to DCS bro! FIRST TIME? LOL!
Thanks for the welcome!
I dont blame heatblur but ED have alot of explaining to do. Its almost like they're trying to push away their customer base
ED has been doing that a lot lately
Bummer, I took the day off at work.
Like many others… hopefully spent it well even without the Phantom
@@dcs_one Funny enough we had a power outage so I wouldn't have been able to play anyways. lol Good times.
@@kenc9236 haha, nice
"content Saturation" is really a made up problem, but it might be from yours perspective since you are a content creator. For me, Having almost daily GS phantom video was a bliss. Trailers, soundtrack, all of that
To each their own
Great rant it was spot on. Keep it up
Much appreciated
lol its just one day, chill.
Chill as a cucumber 🥒
the phantoms launch is phery phrickin’ phrustrating
Phright?
Bro it got delayed 24 hours calm down
I think I was very calm. The comment section decided it was war
Would be so much more hype if the videos started releasing at launch and not a week early. At least that many a week early. Gonna be great anyway
I got my shirt but that’s it
And you ordered vinyls too?
Cry babies. All of you.
We are witnessing the launch of the most detailed dcs module yet.
Have some patience and confidence.
Oh I am confident that it will be amazing
remember when razbam dropped heatblurs name. i believe heatblur was waiting on a payment. imo
Oh right they did
OMG guys)) be patience, we wait 8 years for new clouds from first screenshots))
If they wouldn’t have set a date, I wouldn’t care as much
This 1 Day delay was on ED`s side, don`t blame HB. This rant was a bit childish imo.
I’m sorry that you feel that way. I just wanted to share my experience and how I felt
As I said the work is amazing just don’t set a release date that you can’t do.
bro whats the point of making this drama style video literally like a day before it comes out, we have all been frustrated by the delays.
@@agidotexe7167 my video is about the multiple things that have lead to this frustration. Sorry if it was too hard to understand.
I’m sorry. Some parts where about Heatblur and the part that was about the delay I didn’t make clear enough
10 more minutes. Let’s see 🤓
Congrats! Its here
Just sucks, me and my buddy took a day off from work to play it today….. waste of our time.
I bet! I was thinking of doing that too. Glad I didn’t
@@dcs_one Yeah well shit, my mind wasnt that far thinking. Now i wasted aswell a day off
@@m.b.9688 very unfortunate
I'm not buying jack shit for dcs anymore. NOTHING!
Whatever.
That’s what we all say
@@dcs_one with the razbam shit brother I'm done.
@@ruger2275 I get you. I’m done too. At least until something changes
@@dcs_one even if the release date was the 30th of May, this kind of problem could have popped up at the last second.
Shit can happen, that's it 😉
.... I bludged a day off work just so to spend on my new Phantom. I ended up doing the garden instead.....??!!
At least the garden got some love🪴
Yikes, honestly better off taking the day after off. Especially with DCS it seems, make that two days after lol. BG3 was the only time I took the day off on release day as I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Anyway, hope the garden looks good :).
let it be a lesson never trust ED with release dates
This is one reason I wont buy anything else for DCS it just sucks at release, think I'll stick with MSFS and screw DCS.
I don’t know if my previous comment shows up but it seems to have glitched. If MSFS would get the same functionality and detail in military aircraft I would too
I'm hearing it was an ED problem. How many releases can they screw? Joke of a company.
Starting to seem that way
Seems like all the DCS moaners hang out here.
Seems like it
Frustrated by one day delay? You must be 8 years old....Grow up. One day is nothing, especially with product like this. 🙄
Did you even watch the video? The 1 day delay was the last drop in the glass for 7 months of this
@@dcs_one Still...Kind of immature reaction....
Just don’t preorder.
Okay
Then by all means go spend your time elsewhere
I much rather be flying than answering this comment

@@dcs_one yes, I agree...but at the end of the day its your channel and your reputation that you destroy with this Video...fine by me, have a good day
Brodie it’s not their fault. Complain about ED not the phantom launch
It’s also about the events that lead up to it
TFW: grown men cry over a digital airplane not releasing and needing to wait a day.
Exactly
It's not that simple and I think it's more frustration as opposed to crying.
That's a pretty childish way to look at it.
so your problem and your frustration is because you can´t milk the cow?
You can´t discover the Phantom for yourself because of all the tutorials and content allready out there? Smart tipp, don´t watch it ;)
Nice tip! Been doing that
Chill out…get a life.
Cool as a cucumber
Our money was ok, almost 7 months ago, now deliver or give me my money back!
I have considered asking for a refund multiple times but Im holding off for now. Unless it gets delayed
Classic Eagle Dynamics, postponing a release just to make a point like "we decide the release date, not you".
No more pre orders from me. Not for a while anyway
you don't need to buy from fools something that doesn't exist, only when it's official, only then buy 🤗 in my arsenal I have FC3, Mustang, Mig-21, Ka-50-2/3 and Combined Arms, I'm waiting for Mig-23, Sukhoi-30 and French Rafale 🥰🥰
Combined arms is still in early access my friend. But i think it will be a trend to only buy when the module is released for early access.
Get mad nerds
Neeeerd
I hope so too
ED having a rough go with Razbam and now this…things seem at best disorganized
Something is definitely not right
First world problems...
True
ED are getting to become a joke, still cant get over how crap the Kola map looks. This delay is unjustifiable and not on Heatblur. I'm on steam and will buy the F4E first possible chance but seriously limiting my expenditure on other DCS products for the foreseable future. As soon as an alternative becomes available ED will lose market share overnight. This level of ongoing shoddyness isnt acceptable. DCS is an incredible product, but we have a right to expect better.
Competition leads to improvement. Sadly there is no competition
ED unfortunately is a joke.
"Two Weeks" is a standard common saying because of ED's inability to get anything done.
You expect better than 'incredible'? Or have you forgotten what the definition of 'incredible' is?
Geez I thought it was delayed by a month 😂 it’s a day late, shit better than some airlines these days
Haha, true
Agree, I didnt get it early and my Hype died ... nice to see someone who also fed up ! Good video :)
Thanks! I feel the same way
What a pointless video.. poor poor baby 😢😢
What a pointless comment…
@@dcs_one 😢
@@dcs_one ha yes you would.
It looks amazing 🤩
The problem is that ED constantly misses deadlines. And having been a very early pre-order client, it is beyond ridiculous that these "content creators" got it a week or more early and simply just played with it in random A2A/A2G scenarios. Just how how us peons would play it. Massive slap in the face.
I literally slapped my forehead when it got delayed
Why nobody is complaining about the cost of modules general is the reason why they keep escalting. Most things are £40-£65. Which is ridiculous and ED are not restricting this.
The module prices have been like this since I started DCS and maybe they are overpriced but at the same time there is a lot of work put into them. ED sets their own prices the same way
I don't get why so many people are butthurt about a day delay. Shit happens, and it seems it's not even Heatblur's fault. Feels like this vid is just milking the general outrage of pre-order bunnies.
You’re right stuff happens
