    It's magical how we can immediately distinguished what an old style of building in Minecraft is compared to the modern way of building.

    • @dovacin23
      @dovacin23 3 роки тому +2

      Yes, it is quite difficult and time-consuming to count all the digits in a number. But we usually start counting from the end of a number and put an imaginary dot after every three digits to make it easier to read the whole number. It may be hard for foreigners to understand this system but it's a just a matter of practice, honestly. If the number is less than 1.000.000, then it's quite easy to read it fast without using commas or dots.
      UPD: Also Russian way of reading numbers differs a lot from the English one. For example, we'll read "1.167" not as "One thousand one hundred and sixty-four", but as "Тысяча сто шестьдесят семь", what can be roughly translated to English as "Thousand hudred sixty-seven". It's difficult for me to explain the difference, but in English you sort of divide this number into three different numbers -- a thousand, a hundred and tens, and in Russian we read it as one number. Tried to explain but I think I didn't succeed in that. Also, we read dates the same way we read numbers. This would be easier to explain, so I'll try it. "1984" you'll read as ""nineteen eighty-four", right? Russians will read it as "One thousand nine hundred and eighty-four", just like the numbers.
      Sorry for my English, I know it quite well but have almost zero speaking practice because in our country there are very few people who can and who want to speak English, so I have noone to talk with.

    If i had to put a guess as to when the base was built id have to say sometime before beta 1.8, looking at the build many old-school building techniques have definitely been used like you said, but what interests me is the fences with torches on them, the ability to put torches on fences was introduced in beta 1.7 so the base was under construction durring or after 1.7, however any evidence for around beta 1.8 seems non existent, for one the glass used is full glass blocks, and the fact that stone bricks, a block that was very popular at the time and is easy to obtain is not there makes me feel like that the base had to be built durring beta 1.7, of course chances are they just didn't use the new blocks because they just didn't feel like using them, but also with the base only being 2000 blocks away from spawn i feel sure it was 1.7 as sprinting was introduced in beta 1.8 so traveling that far while not too far is still a small journey to make durring that time, especially with spawn having mostly always been as chaotic as it is and without any sprint jumps. Of course this is all my speculation but i think that is most likely a base built right before minecraft got its major update that would separate itself from classic minecraft to the moddern minecraft, which in my opinion is honestly very amazing to see something like that.

    These remnants look familiar to the base I built with a facepuncher from around that time. Also 2000 blocks away from spawn sounds about right (that felt far from spawn back then).
    What's the location for this? I think I remember what the surface looked like, I could generate the old seed and check.

    Great video of the small details of 2B2T. Hope you grabbed a wdl. Pity that even these remnants are often eliminated once highlighted.

    If you want to grief theres plenty that needs doing in the real world.
    Destroying an empty shell because you have the "well everyone else does it so I have to too, because anarchy means griefing and griefing only" brainworm is asinine.

    I had an underground base similar to this about 2000 blocks away from spawn as well back then... Heck this might even be my old base the building style seems to match the way I used to build. The thought that this might be my old base is crazy. I'm not 100% sure tho. All i remember is that i did a lot of mob grinding and also farmed trees right above the base.
