I have a LED panel that supposedly has some diffusion, but it is still very hard light in my opinion, it even came with an additional diffuser that mounts like 10cm away from the panel, but still is not giving a soft light and therefore I ended up buying the Godox with the Softbox.
The godox with the soft box is still some of the most diffused light for sure. This panel does better than most I’ve used for diffusion built in but I would still bounce it off a reflector or through a diffusion cloth for a key light in a interview setting. It works well as a run and gun setup though.
Good review, Jake! Seems like it's a very viable option, especially being able to use out in the field. Appreciate that you shared it's weaknesses, too (like the delay when changing the intensity dial). Pretty cool how you lit up the ice caves in the glacier!
Being inside a glacier at night sounds terrifying!!! LOL. Such a great video and needed to see this. I need to build my new youtube space and need lights. That price is not outta line :) Also did not know that the sl-60w was so cheep! WOW!
Oh this was the middle of the day lol but there is ZERO natural light this far inside. There are some great options out there. Also take a look at Falcon eyes flexible LEDs. I use some of them in my studio and they are pretty good too! Cheers friend!
Jake Sloan So thankful you took the time to give me that advice and pointers I will definitely look into it thank you so much. Oh and I’m not letting you off the hook you’re still crazy
You bet if you have any questions let me know. I have some other lights I use a lot too made by Falcon eyes that are flexible matts and can also be battery or mains powered but a little bit more work to assemble and disassemble when moving from location to location.
Love the video, I look forward to seeing your channel develop. I would dump the music though as I kept thinking I had a tab open playing some music while I was trying to listen to what you were saying.
Dude, how the hell did you afford all that equipment?? I mean the music gear lol not the video.... I am 32 years old and I still dont have that much lol

Mark H it made it incredibly bright in there! It’s a powerful led light with a few shortfalls but nothing deal breaking in my opinion. Cheers Mark!
Mark, Jake is crazy! That ice-cave at night? no way! LOL

Fair point lol. I’ll have a review of the falcon eyes lights soon
Nice Jake! Great review and pretty decent light for sure.
Thanks Kardoso! It's not bad, has some quirks but def works well as a light! Cheers
Great review Jake good timing too I was looking into some lighting. Thanks for the video 🙏

@@JakeSloan cool man! I just started a studio in london, have you got any tips on how I can find work? Other then networking and collaborating?
meet godox ml60
Yep
The light panel looks like junk compared to the 60w and a softbox.
Different tools for different uses really

Godox is making some fantastic lights!
