    What’s up bro, I feel where you coming from but you gotta understand everybody is not going to play professional basketball. It’s millions of guys out there trying to do the same thing you are doing whether it’s playing overseas or playing in the G league. The NBA is all about politics. There’s a lot more money in the development league now, 7k minimum because of the Gatorade sponsor. There not going to bring in guys that don’t have legit college experience. There going to bring in guys that could potentially help there NBA roster. Like you said, D1 or D2 guys, that’s about right. Those guys are playing organized ball for 4 years which is important & easy to place them in a system. You can’t sign a guy with no legit college experience just because he has a little talent & played well at a tryout. Also, the guys that do get signed have an AGENT. There agents are also going to be attendance & have already a relationship with the organization. I played at a Canadian university, but a respected one and was able to sign with a good agency also with connections, and now I’ve been playing professionally in Europe for 4 years now, currently playing in Romania now. I will look into the G league for next year but only because our agency have guys placed there. If I didn’t have that connection then it would have been impossible for me no matter how good I thought I was. It sucks but this is how it works. If I was you and you have some type of college experience, I would tryout for NBL Canada league. It’s a strong league a lot of D1 guys, ex nba guys, but they give everybody a chance at there tryouts. If you are good, you will get an opportunity. But when your talking about the NBA, you have to have legit experience and some type of connection especially with the new sponsors. Good luck bro

      Josh Turner Not necessarily. To make it in a tryout like this, you either have to have connections, like you said, or you need to be *miles* above the competition. You might be able to play in the g league but you need to be so good that you *excel* in the league. If you’d be an average player in the g league, then i can see this stuff you said applying. But if you’re killing everybody in the tryout, you’re going to make it. It isn’t impossible. Even if you don’t have any college experience, hell, some people couldn’t afford college because they were overlooked in hs. Doesn’t make them any less skilled or talented.
      Yea it’s politics at the end of the day, but you have to be so good that politics don’t matter.

    I did a G league tryout back in 2009 and 2012 it was obviously called the D league back then. It was great and fun experience I don’t regret doing but as time has passed and I’ve gain knowledge on those tryouts It was a waste of time and money. The only true way to make the NBA is having D1 or maybe D2 college experience and having a agent that represent you.

    • @judahbryantbasketballjourney
      @judahbryantbasketballjourney  4 роки тому

      Agreed, but it all depends on networking, regardless of your basketball experience, some people get scouted off the streets, Rec leagues, and posting content on social media. But yeah, it is a waste of time of money because they already have their roster and since they’ve done this so many times by corralling hundreds of hoopers every year for a tryout, make them spend hard earned money, knowing none of them are going to get selected. SAVAGES lol

    You sound like u know what you’re Talking about, so instead of asking one of those other shady youtubers who upload videos like these just for the views ima ask you instead. Since I never played high school b-ball nor college basketball on any level, and I don’t have any agents nor connections, your saying that I shouldn’t tryout at all for a g league team, or is what happened in your case rare? Like does EVERY g league team already have guys in a private workout or that’s just something that happened in New York?

    • @judahbryantbasketballjourney
      @judahbryantbasketballjourney  5 років тому +4

      They most likely already have their rosters set for the season, because they do tryouts a few weeks prior to their training camps. No team will risk just picking up a player with no high level basketball background because they’ll most likely look at you like an amateur. These NBA G-League teams pick up players who most likely were recruited by them, or their agents got them on the roster. Like I mentioned in the video, the head coach said “we already have our complete roster”. No professional team is going to set a roster last second, so these G league teams basically run these “tryouts” for profit. Unless you’re someone they’ve been interested in for some time, you basically have no chance making their roster without some legit high level basketball experience. But ehhh, it’s up to you brother, you can pay your hard earned money and get some NBA level coaching and drills to make a roster, or get your name out there a different way, build from there and make a roster somewhere in the world that’ll pay you to hoop. The rest will take care of itself.

    • @judahbryantbasketballjourney
      @judahbryantbasketballjourney  4 роки тому +2

      LL Cool D if this is your dream, then go for it. Don’t let people give you a Plan B for your Plan A. Yeah it’s cool to go to college and have decent job, but it’s always best to pursue in what you’re most passionate about. If you want to make it to the NBA, then work your ass off to get there. It’s very possible, talent is never overlooked. Everybody has a slim chance to make it to the NBA, but there’s still a chance. So why not take it?! That’s what life is all about.

    • @judahbryantbasketballjourney
      @judahbryantbasketballjourney  4 роки тому +1

      LL Cool D those who keep grinding and working hard to achieve those goals, will eventually achieve them. Never distract yourself from accomplishing your Plan A, that’s why most people fail at it, because of distractions.

    • @judahbryantbasketballjourney
      @judahbryantbasketballjourney  4 роки тому +1

      LL Cool D and about the G-League, they most likely already know who they’re looking out for in those tryouts, you’ll see it when you get there, you see coaches conversing and laughing with certain players, then they call those same players up to go to the “actual” tryout. In an honest opinion, those tryouts are like a big payday for those guys, they know what they already have probably months before tryouts and they still persuade athletes with hoop dreams to go to them. But if you do decide to go, use short breaths because you’ll be running A LOT, pay attention to every detail, engage with your coaches and players, make sure you make 75% of your shots, have good footwork, show that you can be a leader, and please show them that you’re team player.

    • @judahbryantbasketballjourney
      @judahbryantbasketballjourney  4 роки тому +1

      LL Cool D but if I were you, I’d take my chances going to community college, then transferring to a D1, D2, or D3 school, play great in college, and hire an agent to help me make an NBA or G-League roster, that’s one of the easiest ways to reach those NBA courts. G-League teams love D2, and D3 players.

      I know how it feels brother, my team was dominating every game and they still didn’t give the most deserving players a fair chance. In this era, politics is what controls most sports, and these tryouts are just for profit, technically robbery in plain sight. We just have to figure out a way to beat the system, and give the more deserving players a chance than the ones they think are more deserving. Keep striving tho my brotha, success reaches those who never quits💯

      LuTyBloc ENT they don’t care if your team is winning against every other team of players *trying out.* they can’t recruit the whole team, they’re looking for individual players to pick up. In tryouts you gotta be a bit selfish, they don’t care about team players, there isn’t enough time to be one tbh. You gotta basically ball hog to be able to showcase your skills effectively. If you’re just passing and shit, they won’t know how you really play.

      Man I had my bro sneak into the Suns GLeague team tryouts and record my games for film. besides the ones in Phoenix because they wouldn’t let people in besides who was trying out. I plan on using the film to try to get overseas or something but i guess that’s one way of beating the system. In 2018 I was basically dominating, scoring a lot and had a few assists throughout the games, then the following weekend it was on the Suns home court and I had like over 10 points and was racking up assist through a few games. They posted like 4 pictures of me in their post about the tryouts but didn’t contact me at all smh.

    Sound like a regular basketball tryout. When they say “core guys” they mean they have pieces already you still can make the team & get built around the core.. you trying to play professional basketball you have to be able. To pass with both hands it’s not biased drills. Them guys who probably walked in? Were probably the “core guys” lol

    • @judahbryantbasketballjourney
      @judahbryantbasketballjourney  4 роки тому

      Those guys who walked in was literally the actual team. So many great players was in that tryout and not one made the cut. The head coach even said “we already have our team but, we wanted you guys to get the NBA experience”.

    • @judahbryantbasketballjourney
      @judahbryantbasketballjourney  4 роки тому

      Jay Simpson I know guys who’ve participated in the National G League tryout, and were deserving of a roster spot. But some things never change, from hs, to college, to the pros, if a team already has their players, no matter how good you are they’ll overlook you.

    • @judahbryantbasketballjourney
      @judahbryantbasketballjourney  4 роки тому

      Jay Simpson and “them guys” most definitely included players like Chris McCoullough and Theo Pinson. So many guys that went there should’ve made the team, and that’s a fact.

      MixTapeTMZ ChiChi well this is how unprofessional they are, on the advertisement, they said that they had reservations for a certain amount of players, and that your reservation had to be paid before all the spots were taken. So when I get there, there’s way more than the predicted 175 participants that were presumed of participating. But, when you go to the registration table, they tell you that you can fill out paperwork and pay for a tryout on the spot. I’m not saying it’s ok to fill out paperwork and pay the day of but, I’m also not saying that it isn’t ok. These people are unpredictable lol, so my best guess is to just follow everything that is saids on their website, because who knows what changes they may decide to do this year. Or you can just contact the people that work there, and they’ll tell you everything that you need to know . #StayBlessed #KeepBeingGreat

    Making the NBA is impossible. You cannot give yourself potential you don’t have. Everyone in the NBA has won the genetic lottery. They’re all mutants. Take Austin rivers for example, He was phenom in college and high school. Agility, speed, handles, finishing ability etc. Now he’s a role player who plays limited minutes from the bench in the NBA. That’s how competitive it is. You seem like a good guy and hopefully it works out for you but I’d invest in a degree if I were you.

You can train all you want, but you simply don't have the tools to get there. Judging from what you said you have too many things going against you: lack of elite genetics, lack of game experience, lack of high level basketball experience, lack of skill development with high level professionals. It all matters. I know you won't care about my opinion, I just wanted to put my two cent on the topic, and again I am not saying this to hate, just putting what I believe to be the honest truth out there.
