Hey Pancreas, small question, how would you make beastmens, and abhuman as a whole, work like a imperial faction(not chaos, because chaos is cringe) with their only functional army in wh40k, both lore and tabletop? I come with this question because of my OC please don't steal 10 foot tall fanatic minotaur with a autocannon and an axe that think he is the chosen one of the emperor himself.
Green normally mean green vains and as such they make the big guy green to appear that he is made of muscle
i get you did a vid on how to fix the tyrainds but want to see the do's and dont's of them since i already know i got outdated models that teeth look like crap

I've had a pretty funny encounter with Gotrek involving Foot of Gork. He was down to 3 wounds, but since Gotrek reduces damage from any source to 1 and also rocks a 3+ ward, you have to hit him 9 times assuming average rolls.
And I actually got 9 stomps in one cast. The mental image of Gotrek being stepped on by a gigantic green foot, getting progressively more squished and angry in the process, always makes me chuckle.
Well i think he'd be happy if that's how he went out. Being so badass it literally takes a god stepping on you three times is probably a worthy death
@@mercwiththemouthsnewphone6798 If he truly dies, could be that he's just flattened and has to waddle away like a pancake with feet because he can't swing his axe anymore.
He himself might not count as a slain model, but his pride surely would so I'd say that'd still be in line with the rules.
It's like that one boss fight in asura's wrath where asura was punching wyzen's fat ass finger over and over and getting angrier and angrier.
Like stomping a roach
Back in Warhammer Fantasy 8th ed, I was fighting a Beastman army with my Greenskins. They had two massive hordes, I had Foot of Gork. Under those rules, the spell used a large green foot shaped template and you had to roll a 3+ or 4+ to use it again but if you rolled a 1, your opponent placed it. You also couldn't hit the same unit twice in a row. Well Gork was feeling like tapdancing that day because the spell hit the hordes 3 times each and pretty much eliminated both of them. Then I rolled a 1 and he placed the template on my savage orc horde, but it had a 2+ ward against magic so it just tickled.
Fun fact: Hulk was supposed to be gray but printing machines back in the day had problem with this color so they decided to change his color to green because green wouldnt be totally diffrent on each page
Oh an in universe grey hulk is a different personality from regular hulk. Default hulk (savage hulk) is more akin to a primitive man with primal instincts. Grey hulk/ joe fixit is essentially hulk with a confidence boost and increased social skills/ teen young adult angst. Professor hulk is basically a combination of grey and green hulk and bruce banner and represents a somewhat complete man who let go of the trauma.
Devil hulk/ immortal hulk is a weird inversion of brian banner in that he protects banner like a father protecting his child. Oh and every hulk especially bruce banner in particular is a physical manifestation of the one below all who is essentially part of the one above all/ God. TOBA is the god of destruction and over all hatred and apathy, TOAL is the god of creation, love compassion and empathy.
The one below all is the source of the mutagenic version of gamma energy because apparently there are 2 types of gamma radiation in the marvel universe. The normal kind that falls in the electromagnetic spectrum and the one found in lowest level of hell itself. It's so low and below every part of hell not even mephisto could reach it.
In short bruce banner has many personalities sharing 1 physical vessel. There are even more personalities but just lingering there. He's not as extreme as legion but he has it. Psychology is actually pretty interesting even if the real thing isn't as fantastical as the hulk.
@@jonathanathor117 So the Hulk is powered by Satan, got it.
@@Beriorn not exactly. It a combination of factors but all converging to the fact that hulk is powered by gamma radiation. The one below all just happens to be the source of this mutagenic version buy its hard to distinguish the 2 of them. When the accident happened the one below all just wanted a kind of physical host because unlike the one above all, he can't do shit. He just exist as this blob of energy like a lump of clay. The hulk just happened to be a vessel. The incredible hulk is freak accident that could never be replicated no matter what they do. He was one of the 1st gamma mutate as well as the best that's why the one below all choose him.
The one above all isn't even Satan. The closes thing to Satan in the marvel universe is mephisto, lucifer and johnny blaze. Yep ghost rider was the king of hell at one point. The one below all is just the one above all inversion. Not the devil.
@@jonathanathor117 Got it, he's powered by bootleg Satan beams.
@@Beriorn in a sense yeah. I mean the one below all became a thing was because the hulk died a few consecutive times and was like," no, I will not die again" and immortal came to existence.
You can use purple paint on your orcs, but you won't have a lot of models to show for it.
I always made a joke about having an ork army using only bare bases and saying they were wearing purple
or black metallic paint because Grimgor is da best
It took 22 days into orktober to get an orky video properly.
*never change broken organ man, also obligatory orkussy joke.*
Never thought that Sigmer's best Bro would be Gorkamorka, but im really happy that he was that bro
i wonder if in a long distance way they're still bros, like they send messeges and sometimes talk about good fights
It is rather ironic as his reason of being a God is ultimately because he was good at Killin orks
@Caleb Barnhouse Only da most worvy fightas can become gods, and only fights wiff Orks make da bestest fightas!
Gorkamorka is such a bro, that in contrast to what PancreasNoWork, he was actually at Sigmar’s side at the end.
"The shaman headbutts the air, projecting a wave of energy that seeks out enemy bosses to nut."
Oh my...
Just some Lore tidbits
-Each faction of Orks represents one aspect of their god; Ironjawz portrays Mork brutality, Krewlboy portrays Mork cunning & Bonesplitterz potrey Gorkamorka WAAAAGH! divinity
-The Bonesplitterz were the first ork in the realm and revered Gorkamorka as a near Omnipresent being almost like a force itself called the World Spirit and all monsters have bits of their god's power for that Rukks (Bonsplitterz clans) would form by chasing after great kaiju that fought G+M such as skwidmuncha the two head shark, Kaiju Rakka Nak a great lava trillipede & Shattatusk the great white frost boar
-To join the Ironjawz they must first bash a bunch of metal scrapes into armor for they don't forge their armor this is due to Gorkamorka during the pantheon days when he taught the Ork how to beat the spirit of metal into submission creating the foundation of the orks
-The Da Choppas Ironjawz is a sub faction is lead by a Megaboss Doggrok who is a skull on a stick for he been dead after coming down with a case of "Spontaneous combustion" it no matter to them for his right-hand shaman Ka-rokk "interprets" all the boss wants
-Bonesplitterz despise armor for they are so imbued with the power of the WAAAGh that simply painting them blue make them invincible (and bullets and arrow do bounce off their tats)
-The Drakkfoot Bonesplitterz was created out of hatred against the supernatural threats (demons & ghosts) for they have no bones as such the culture weaponized their waaagh power to counter them for their WAAAGH! imbued weapons can now splatter a ghost head, their screams can "scare away" chaos corruption and a perfect synchronize dance can exorcise a demon prince (they're ork ghostbusters)
This is long enough but still got lots more in anyone who wants to hear more
I absolutely do want to hear more. This is great!
@@beatthegreat7020 ok
-Gobsprakk (the special name kruleboyz character) is one of the greatest Ork shamans there ever lived for he has bested thousands of wizards and magical creatures adding their remains to his trophy racket however his greatest duel was with a Lord of Change named Skienclaw whom upon killing him took his mutilated hand and bounded to his staff (you can see in the model) kept in the mortal plane by his sheer determination to show it off to his mates
-The most famous act of vandalism of the Da Choppa was the defacement of the monolithic statue of Archaon that stood over the Manticore Realmgate. The first time, the Everchosen’s helm was carved into the grinning face of Gork, so Archaon sent a legion to reclaim it and guard its repair. The second time, the head was taken off entirely and replaced with a huge wooden grot head. Incensed, Archaon ordered the expansion of the Manticore Dreadhold. The third time, the Ironjawz brought down the walls and raised a crude idol to Gork over the fallen statue of Archaon. Now, a new Lord of Chaos commands the rebuilt Manticore Dreadhold, peering into the wastes as orruk drums rumble in the distance
-The Icebone Bonesplitterz is in constant looking for Shattatusk the kaiju god frost boar who Gorkamorka rodeo into submission tearing a piece of its tusk while doing so. They simply believe that their weapons are splitters of that tusk and doing so their weapons just WAAAAAG! gain cryo elemental damage to them
-Skulbugz Kruleboyz base of operation is in Chinitia Shyish the underworld of bugs a swamp afterlife filled with all kinds of insects and creepy crawlers from Giga-rhinox beetles to swarms of Morksquitos. However their neighbors the Grimscuttle spider-goblins of the Evercrawl the spider underworld constantly demand to join their WAAAGH! but constantly get rejected due to spiders not being "propa bugz"
-The Origin of Gordakk is unknown to many non-orks but the legend that ork do tell is that during the war of the greenskin when chaos first campaign against the greenskinz of Ghur the ruinous power erected a great fortress to oversee the genocide however one day over the wall of the dark fortress did thousands of ork amass out of nowhere surrounding the fort completely. Frightening the chaos warriors of the fort more was the fact that the orks didn't do anything just stare silently at it expecting something to happen. Before they could send word to their forces or make a decision about this strange event occurring a gigantic green fist came down from the sky smashing the fortress into rubble and from the ruin of the fort emerge Gordakk the first of Gork
This is awesome. I love that spiders aren't proper bugz.
@@michaelsantamaria5295 This is incredible. Thank you.
I love the idea of a tribe of Ork ghostbusters just rolling around screaming at ghosts and demons.
Ive always thought that the color green was chosen for Doomguy and hulk was because green = nature and those two are akin to sheer unstoppable forces of nature
Also because that's the most recognizable color of camouflage (at least in temperate or jungle areas, which was a lot of WW2 and all of Vietnam), and the original Doomguy was a modern soldier, so that might be the reasoning too. How he was supposed to find enough greenery to hide in *on Mars* is another question. Maybe it's camouflage for hiding in all those glowing chemicals.
Hulk was coloured green because the original choice of grey would have been a pain in the neck to print at the time, and the colour just stuck.
Doomguy is Green as that's the typical colour of military uniforms and fatigues in a good amount of armies, and he was a soldier before becoming a terrifying force of nature. Prior to foom 2016, he was just wearing his bog standard marine armour.
@@agihammerthief8953 yeah I think that shade of green evokes a "military" vibe that serves doomslayer well. He seems like he would have been a highly trained marine or smth in another life
@@teejay1646 he... he literally was a marine???
On the subject of painting, it's worth remembering that while it may be sacrilege, you don't HAVE to paint all your Orks green. They're your Orks. Paint them however you want. Heck, paint different Orks different colors.
The way I see it, Orks being fungus bois means they can be any color that fungi, mushrooms, and mold can be. Green, brown, red, pale, grey, yellow, even pink. Different Orks in the same warband could even be different colors, or be different shades of the same color.
On another note, even if you do go with green, there's a lot of painting options. Orks are just screaming for face paint, tattoos, and scarification. These can be as simple (one half of the body painted blue, Braveheart style) or as complicated (intricate faux Polynesian pattern) as you like. They've also got clothes - at least some of it, in the case of Bonesplittaz - which can have lots of variety. I'm painting my Kruleboys in a "Halloween" color scheme (green, black, orange, yellow, white, and purple), and it makes them stand out more than "green guys with brown rags and rusty metal".
Then again, I don't really DO drab or muted schemes. I prefer a pronounced range of colors for my models. I have the whole rainbow to choose from, why would I limit myself to shades of brown?
I’m imagining an entire army of cottagecore Orks.
@@DrewskiTheLegend Hell yeah.
I'm now imagining an Ork warband who, after a savage encounter with some harlequins, dress in bright clownsuits.
As an ork player who loves green, yes, do whatever you want.
Orks are already about looting things and transforming into your own, so "looting" orks models and painting them with a different skin color is perfectly on brand
Also I would love to fight a non green ork army. Just as a way for da boys to see if green "really iz da best"
You can't paint them purple cause that would make them invisible and you wouldn't want to lose them
You have no idea how much Soulbound made me want to have an Orc buddy so much.
The general description of Bonesplitter Soulbound notes that these orruks generally regard their fellow Soulbound as True Companions. It doesn't matter what race they are; in the Bonesplitter's mind, they were all brought together by fate, and that makes them surprisingly amiable and trusting. It's even called out that other races are often surprised by just how much tolerance and acceptance they are likely to get from a Bonesplitter companion.
The Bonesplitter Wardok's description notes that the Destruction races in general tend to really like Wardoks, because they like the funny feeling they get to have somebody cheering them on and encouraging them on the battlefield.
Wardoks are also described as being hugely accepting of working alongside non-Destruction races in a Binding, because they're eager to show them how to have fun in the orruk way.
Soulbound Ironjaw Warchanters are described as finding their Binding through premonition; they can hear their future bond-mates' heartbeats in their head, so when a Warchanter finally finds them in person, they feel that a missing piece of their soul has been retrieved.
This is a really cool detail for Warhammer Orks
Oh I love that. This is how you evolve a faction identity. It makes me want to get 1 or 2 orruk models to put on the sidelines of a none orruk army
Fun fact, because of current rules, savage Orruks can actually wound on a 3+, getting better on a charge, because as long as your unit has less than 4 wounds and isn't mounted, it can fight in 2 ranks and takes no penalties for doing so, letting them take the better weapon.
Oi! It’z da Oomie wiv no Insulin! WWAAAAAAAGGGHHHH!!!!

Whether Fantasy or Sci-Fi, Orks are always having a blast.

But seriously, the real reason for the green=mad connection is because it's not that easy being green 😞
What about the Grinch?

I think green is usually associated with Nature/Wilds and at least in a human sense there is very little more destructive than nature itself. Natural disasters are always unstoppable, at least for humans. Therefore green can also be associated with "wrath of nature" and all the best juggernaut/berserker characters use green because of that. That's how I've always looked at it.
Shrek lives in a swamp and he still devastes all villages near his home.
AFAIK thing goes back to the Green Knight of Arthurian legend (nigh unstoppable knight serving the land ) plus being green sets you aside from "normal" humans, as well the entire revitalizing myth connecting to cycle of seasons (Green Man, Cernunos etc ). In the East : well jade is deeply associated with Life and vitality... so the thing is more of an ancient tradition that GW jumped on..
To answer your question about the trope of being big green and mean, look towards Arthurian legends. The GreenKnight, kinda started it and people ran with it
Well the Salamanders Chapter colour scheme is mostly green AND they are the biggest space marines you can find. I'm definitely also seeing a pattern here
Weren't Alpha Legion technically the biggest on average? At least tallest IIRC which is how IamOmAlpharius got around for a bit.
Always thought that stupid. Should be the shortest IMO to actually be able to blend in better.
Now I have no idea with Primaris Marines either.
Then you have the freak Astartes like that Carchardon one who can't even fit into Terminator armor. Or was he a Minotaur?
Ah 40k lore. "Whatever the fuck the writer wants!"
Well no wonder they are the BEST Space Marine chapter
Why is the video listed as under World of Warcraft which one of you did that?
It was me! Dio!
For the green and angry I contribute it to the color wheel, red and green are opposites and it makes any blood show very easily, kinda playing into the angry one man rage monster and how they can literally obliterate their foes
Orruk warclans are my fav there is just something silly about how they work dancing to gain power. I used to run a big waaagh with a mix of ironjawz and krulboyz and they where fun then i read the book dominion and feel in love with the Krulboyz. If we lose we went out fighting so it don't count!
If we run we can still fight again, so we win!
This makes me think of some grand battle between two different factions and then there’s just a group of Orruks that just appear in the middle of it fighting both sides just ‘cause.

I like that AoS added an actual difference to Orcs… I mean Orruks, who devote themselves to either Gork or Mork. Made it more then just a joke.
I gotta admit, the first few times I heard “Gordrakk”, I thought you were saying “Gortrek”, and I was left wondering “Wow, what happened to Gotrek to get him turned into an Ork??” immediately followed by “Wait, even after getting turned into the fightiest of races, Gotrek _STILL_ can’t find an opponent worthy of killing him?? Poor guy….”
😅
I've really been feeling like getting into them or ogres ngl. Seraphon and Sylvanneth have been cool but something more direct "fuck his day up" just sounds fun. Thank you boss!
I was sent down the rabbit hole of trying to look for an origin point of "Green Being an Aggressive Color". I got nothing. I've seen people draw connections to the Green Goblin (yes that one), and the association with Tolkien Goblins to Orcs. I've seen traditional color people say that green is all about healing and fertility, or disgust and greed. All I've got, is that it's the bestest color.
I know this is 8 month old, but I went down a similar rabbit hole and the conclusion I came up with after looking at a lot of art of big green monsters (from Godzilla, to the hulk, to doomguy, to orcs, to goblins, to Frankenstein's monster, and on and on and on) and the conclusion I came to was that it has more to do with color theory. Green in a lot of settings, especially the urban or horror settings that these characters come from, stands out in contrast to the other colors on the page. Doomguy is a punch of green in an ocean of reds, grays, oranges, and blacks. The hulk is a mass of green in the middle of a bunch of city colors, or dessert yellows/reds/oranges. Same with Godzilla and the urban landscape/blue or gray skies. Same with Frank's monster in dark castles and rocky mountains.
Mind you, it's just the theory I came up with, but it was the best thing I could figure given all I've seen.

Green is used a lot because of its association with nature. Big Green violent types tend to be the ones that aren't necessarily killing and destroying out of anger, but out of their nature and they tend to act like forces of nature, unstoppable killing machines that you have no hopes of reasoning with and at best can redirect it towards the thing you want dead since there is no stopping it altogether. Cthullu is a good example of that.

Yep! Then the Chaos Gods being pricks ruined it.
Gorkamorka got capture by the god kaiju Drakatoa, the Living Avalanche
Sigmar and his Cosmic dragon while taking a tour through out the realms found him trap and decided to be a samaritten and zeus lighting bolt the god kaiju freeing the G+M. Furious that he needed a puny human god help[ G+M knock out his cosmic dragon and sigmar threw hands. the two fought for days so grand that all apex predators of the land of ghur stop what their doing and migrated to watch the scrapping; a battle that the ork present there was brought to tears and still revere Sigmar
on the 12th day the two gods stop and look around and laugh shaking hands
Sigmar crowned G+M as the Pantheon "royal hunter" where in exchange for keeping the majority of the ork threat off his human/elf/dwarf empire sigmar will bring the god and his kind to the best kind of fight and warzones keeping them entertain while fulfilling a perfect border against the eldritch and kaiju threats against his civilizations. For the rest of the Age of myth while the other pantheon snub G+M for his savage tendency the two got along as Sigmar would sometimes come along with G+M in his hunts such as the Wyrm-war were the fought dune size dragon worms and end up winning the war because the two decided to get into a personal scrapping and sorta wreak the worm in the collateral damage
however all things come to the end as sigmar empire kept growing and the beucracy kept Sigmar from join his greenskin adventure time feeling abandon and dislike the ever approaching civilization Gorkamorka hear the voices of the chaos gods mock him and his rage his a point that he decided unleash the biggest WAAAAGH! of all reality call the BIG WAAAGH! where he wreak Ghur across the realm turn around and did it again. However despite him doing this he still show up in the big climatic battle against Archaon (it was the last time he ever seen in the setting) so he must still hold some of the friendship toward sigmar just hatred for his "humie politics"
I absolutely love that he made this with Age of Mythology music playing haha
I really think the contributing factor for how good green goes with violence, is it pairs well with red.

If I was to guess, green is the complementary colour to red, the colour of blood. So if your angry boi gets mad wearing green, blood is more clearly highlighted when they are drenched in it.
Also, Green iz bestest cos itz da Orkiest color, therefor, anyone who wearz is iz a proppa 'ard git.
I think green works because you can make everything else red to show their perspective and they stand out a lot more, which works well for stuff like doom especially with the level designs
Love the vid, as always! Thanks, dude!
Maybe the green is more associated with being big, like trees are big
And Big lends itself to being angry, so they are mixed together?
I always figured it represented marines cause the green was always the same or very close to the green marines used.
For your next video you should do, do or don't locust horde from gears ff war.
love gorkamorka joining order mostly because sigmar also speaks fightanese. seems like that chilled out the orcs a bit too, relative to orcs at least
Me and my brothers are just getting into warhammer and my brother has chosen to make the "food fightaz" orks that realized how why should they choose between eatin and fightin so they fight with what they eat and eat what they fight
Dude I fucking love these and I appreciate everything you do. With that said; when do you plan on covering our favorite grey seer? Also I enjoyed the Gotrek and Felix video
I'll photoshop the hulk pink for you mr pancreas
Bro, the people that put timestamps on their advertisment have a special place in heaven
I crave a video on the undead if only as it will be in November and make the early Christmas stuff less horrible.
green is a complimentary color for red... so yeah it goes well with blood
Green contrasts well with blood
I think the concept of “big mean and green” is derived from the fact that the subject is being framed in a manner as a “force of nature.” Like that it’s disposition to be a torrent of rage and anger.
As Shrek once said: "I'm a mean, green fighting machine."
I'm pretty sure it's just the Maw Krusha doing the projectile roars lol. Mega Bosses have it too but only on Maw Krushas.
Imagine if someone introduced the orks to boxing and other blood sports.
Don't think they'd obey the rules of boxing, they'd just go _WAAAGH_
I 100% had you picked for a Mork man
Y'know, I sometimes play a game when watching UA-cam videos. I try and predict as early and as accurately as possible what and when the sponsor shall come and shall be. I'm rather good at it.
“F*cking copyright…” I legit laughed so damn hard when you said that!
Also MTG green color is about big angry creatures
Pls do the Nids soon! Love the videos man
The way you described NordVPN reminds me of Gotrek for some reason.
Green is especially good for displays of violence because Red shows up really well on it.
Maybe it's the jolly green giant that was on green bean cans?
I think green used as pure rage and violence is supposd to reference a force of nature.
EM's fighting words
I wish we just has regular orruk boyz
