Actual vfx artist from the film industry here...and the stockholm syndrome comment really hit home. That's exactly what it's like. Have a group of the artist trying to build a pipeline similar to Toms... So this interview was very inspiring. Thanks so much...love your channel....killin it!
Hey! Thanks very much. These interviews didn’t get huge view-counts, but the quality of the viewers has been terrific (which was always the aim… quality over quantity). Glad to be helpful :-)
Haydn! What a fantastic insightful and educational interview. Tom is such an inspirational and intelligent person. I agree with absolutely everything he says and his methods. PS we met at the AI 'do' in London and thanks again for chatting.
Hey, thanks very much. Interview part 3 still to come later this week. Tom definitely has a perspective that hits the nail in the head for many of us, and he presents the case for AI filmmaking progress so well.
I come here after hearing about this movie from a hate video. The hate is of course not deserved, this is only the beginning and the first product already looks really good. The haters will be left in the dust.
Thanks for the heads-up, Tasha. Do you have a link? Like I said in the interview, “First AI Feature Film” is turning out to be a controversial throne to try to sit on, and I may make a video about the others… if I can find links.
@@HaydnRushworth-Filmmaker DreadClub: Vampire's Verdict is on Amazon Prime Video... I answered it on your other video but I think YT blocked it 'cause I sent the link 😕... I applaud your commitment to exploring it and not taking anyone's word. Fine journalism 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The fact that Haydn had to ask at least 3-4 times the same question "Are we not using the tools we have available correctly?" shows there's some disconnect. We understand and hear you that this film was made entirely by AI but he and his team are using something next level they he doesn't want to disclose in full which you can tell from his nervous sounding answers. Which makes this entire thing unexciting when they get to use tools we don't have access to.
You're not making anything with this quality of character consistency and direction from Runway, Kling, Luma or anything currently available. This looks way too clean.
I think Tom is used to overseeing the project from a big picture perspective rather than the grassroots prompt-engineer perspective, and that will probably account for the sparse detail. In time I hope to interview one of the prompt engineers who probably won’t be able to help himself getting into more technical detail… watch this space :-)
STORY IS KING, no matter how it's done. Although AI may unlock the medium for lots of people, that doesn't mean they're all great story tellers. The economics here however are very interesting.
Couldn’t agree more. The AI video arena is filled with people clamouring for the downfall of Hollywood, but very few understand the storytelling foundations that are essential to any great movie or tv show.
At the rate that the technology is advancing the conversation should shift from art and focus on production. AI from a creative point of view is a cancer that won’t stop growing. How much money did they spend on this? I’d love to work on a studio that will allow me to rest on weekends, have insurance and all of that but I find it hard to believe that if studios are getting smaller that somehow magically the benefits will start appearing given that the cost of producing a film is about to cost less and less.
@@HaydnRushworth-Filmmaker Much appreciated. It was wonderful that you actually had a chance to go to their studio to meet face to face. I watched, liked, and commented on them both. Now I'll get a chance to share them with other dedicated AI moviemakers.
Yes! So excited to see more people having these conversations and trying new ways to build studios, deal with distribution, and trying different filmmaking economics. He's said everything I've wanted to hear other people say in such an eloquent way. Great interview questions too, btw!
I like this guy's perspective, particularly about building a new studio pipeline (workflow), but "the boom operator is more important than the Director"? Come on. Get real, lol.
I know what you mean about the boom operator reference, though I do like the idea of the full spread of skills being elevated in a closer team environment.

Heyyyy, thanks very much. I think everybody in the Creative AI Network should watch these interviews, just because Tom has so many valuable insights!
@HaydnRushworth-Filmmaker absolutely
This interviews are great!
You have done great service in making these.
Thank you

I think you’re right. AI is like the next evolution of CGI, it won’t kill Hollywood or creativity, but it will turbo-charge those who use it.
Excellent video. Lots to digest. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
A new freedom for creators.
Very insightful. Thanks for this second part Haydn. I look forward to the third part.
Great interview! But in all fairness, Hooroo Jackson made both the first ever AI feature film and animated AI feature film 🥰💫

Should have just generated the interview.

I think you're right, and to be fair, it really takes a Tom Paton type leader to implement that kind of culture and stick to it.
Nobody has ever made it on their own in the motion picture business. It takes a team. Start building your crew today.
💯 absolutely!!
