      Thanks Andy! I've since added an X pipe and different Magnaflow mufflers to tame the exhaust a bit.

    I have a 67 fastback that’ll I’ll be working on soon. She’s has a straight 6, 3 speed trans, 4 wheel drum brakes. The car hasn’t run since the early 80’s. It will be a ground up restoration with major upgrades inside out.

    Vedendo questa auto vogliamo davvero continuare a chiamare "progresso" quello che sta succedendo nel mondo dell' auto??!!

    When I was young, would have thought that was cool, but now I want a car I can afford to drive.

      Fortunately for me, I can afford to drive it as it is not a real gt350. 🍻

      You could always get an old 289 mustang, they're dirt cheap because they were a dime a dozen back in the 60s and 70s just like the later 2nd gen camaros and trans ams. What you decide to do to the car you choose will largely determine if you can actually afford it or not

      I think the best way to go is a 2011-2014. Still get the retro styling with the power of the coyote, plus modern braking and handling. They want way too much money for the vintage cars which would be fine but then you still have to turn around and put all the hours of work and money into them just to get them brake and handle half as good as the new ones. And thats not even getting into the structural integrity of a 50+ year old car.The new ones are stronger than a vintage mustang with a full cage. Just my opinion.

      @jasonyocom7649 I suppose people value different things in their vehicles. While there is a decent chunk of change invested into the power, handling, and braking for this car, people dont typically buy vintage mustangs for those characteristics. At the end of the day, no amount of retro styling in a newer mustang will measure up to the look and feel of a vintage mustang. Driving a relatively light vintage car with manual brakes, steering, and transmission with decent power behind it is a much more raw experience.

      @@65_347FB It's raw for sure, I'll give you that. And potentially dangerous. If I'm not mistaken the 2011-2014 cars are lighter than the S550. The general public must have found the Retro styling similar enough, 11-14 Ford sold almost a half million of them.

    Early 289/302 firing order? Or 5.0/ 351w hydraulic roller firing order? Sounds great!
    I have a 65 Mustang Fastback, from 1988. Has a 351w , AFR heads, F303 roller cam , performer RPM intake etc.
    Like to go to 408w.
    Thanks for sharing.

      HO roller order - 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
      . I'm running the AFR 195 CNCd heads. I'll probably eventually stroke it to a 363 but will likely boost it far before then.

    Around how much would I pay In maintenance a year for a build like this?

    • @65_347FB
      @65_347FB  Місяць тому

      That would depend on how often and how hard you plan to drive it. Ultimately, current maintenance cost is minimal considering its seen the sun 5 times this year and its been babied since I was breaking the transmission in. Next year might be different...
