This is probably a case of over sharing but my mom is at my house for Easter. She has Alzheimer's and I can get pretty bummed when she doesn't know who I am. I was walking to the fridge to put away some food and there was my new Carpetbagger post card and it put a smile on my face. Thank you for cheering me up on a complicated day!
Wow stay strong for your mom. Even she doesn't know who you are one day she'll recognize you even though she'll may think you are still a teenager And remember the days you have with her because You'll miss her when she's gone home to be with the Lord.
So glad you all are together going on a long journey again in Large Marge. If you need any help with things in Oklahoma let me know. It's all right up my alley!
RhettyforFun I second that! I’ll meet you guys at Rock Cafe in Stroud where the owner Dawn Welch was the inspiration for the character of Sally in the movie Cars.
eLSewhere50 That's a great one! There's also Harley in Erick who's a riot and he was the inspiration for Mater and his song was in the movie. He's got a lot of musical talent although most don't realize it.
Great Easter Day Surprise: Adam & Jacob's Marvellous Adventures! Us Brits have all heard of Route 66 from songs & books. Let the fun begin...💥🌟💥Mrs JM xxx
I've wanted to take this trip for most of my life and will probably never be able to physically, but now I get to do it virtually with 2 of my favourite youtubers! That's gotta be the next best thing! Looking forward to the adventure guys! :-)
What can I say? Just the most awesome episode here... from Santa Monica to San Bernararnadino to Barstow with a stupendous opening intro sequence. What goodness is in store for us!!
That chicken you saw outside McDonalds next to Buggs Bunny was called Leghorn and he was always beating the owners pet bull dog with a board and then stepping outside the chain limit the bull dog had on. Leghorn also met the little chicken hawk. That was so funny when I was a kid. Great video Thanks so much for the past memories. Looking forward to this route. I know Adam the woo is going to liven up the party as well. LOL God Bless and prayers for you a safe trip on route 66.
Heck with the start of Route 66... That is the SANTA MONICA PIER where JACK TRIPPER, JANET WOOD, and CHRISSY SNOW visited for the opening of THREE'S COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!
So, I mentioned this on Adam's video as well, but the old Santa Monica Ferris wheel (the one in the Iron Man movie where the kid drops the ice cream after seeing Iron Man flying by) is in OKC! You guys should totally ride the old Santa Monica Ferris Wheel too! It is in the Wheeler District. Excited to watch the upcoming videos!
I'm 99% certain that the hot dog that now sits at the McDonald's Museum was moved from the epic Roy's Cafe (The Hitcher fame) in Amboy California also on Route 66.
AA - FYI - Albert Ocuna owns the city of Amboy & the McDonald's Museum; the real treasure is next door. He keeps his frightening collection of weapons under the guise of the 'Inland Empire Military Museum' - Brilliant Loophole! It's never open but dude has a TANK for chrissakes.
Bagdad Café is a 1987 German film directed by Percy Adlon. It is a comedy-drama set in a remote truck-stop café and motel in the Mojave Desert in the US state of California.
This is going to b an amazing road trip! The show, “Abandoned “ (Viceland), starring Rick McCrank, had an episode where he & a friend took the same trip. I’m anxious to see the Carpetbagger’s version of this trip!
One of the other cool trips across the US is US 30, the Lincoln Highway. My family would travel it on family vacations, using an old book titled ‘Traveling I-80 with Uncle Otto’. Someday, I will travel 30 from Chicago to the west coast...
Jacob, Be sure to do the Musical Road portion in Tijeras New Mexico. Very cool. Also about 1/2 hour from there is Tinkertown museum. You guys would love it. As Always be safe in your travels
When you go past Carnuel, NM and under the I-40 bridge, watch for the Singing Highway before you get to Tijeras, NM. You must align your tires to the grooves and it will play a song!
HI !!!! This is going to be such an exciting trip !!! Im so glad I am going along w u guys via UA-cam Videos !!! Yay !! Thx for doing this!! Have fun n be very careful n safe, plz !!!

I been watching your shows for the last two days on my tv youtube app. Living in Maine , raised in Mass been to many places you posted from NE to Texas, enjoying the ride, expecially being stuck in bc of Covid, be safe 🌹 Hope to meet you both here in Maine someday 💖 Wife shouldn't be camara shy! 😊
Hey carpetbagger...i just came across yr vids by chance n now im subscribed. .a great mix of all sorts. .great stuff.....respect from the u.k......GAV.
Good video and the original McDonalds was across the street from the McDonalds which was built by the McDonalds brothers. The guy who bought the name and all the locations also bought the original location after the brothers went out of business and levels the building.
Believe it or not in 1937 hot dogs were the first things sold in McDonald's. Ray Kroc prohibited the sales of them as he thought they were unhygienic. McDonald's have temporarily brought back hot dogs on a number of occasions, I remember eating some as a kid here in the UK. They tried to relaunch them here as a test market, and the commercials focused on them being the original McDonald's item. Sadly they never caught on, I seem to remember they were pretty good too!
This needs so many more views. You two need a TV series.
Carrie Sherman, Hang in there, just give your mom all the Love you can.
If I can make your day a tiny bit happier, that is truly rewarding. Hope everything goes well with your mother
Wow stay strong for your mom. Even she doesn't know who you are one day she'll recognize you even though she'll may think you are still a teenager And remember the days you have with her because You'll miss her when she's gone home to be with the Lord.
