I was 8 years old when this song came out. Today, I'm an old man. Survived a accident where I died 3 times before I was stable enough for major back surgery. Ended up in a wheelchair, rest of my life. I survived to watch my wife of 28 years decide that living with a man in a wheelchair was not for her, so she left me for another man. I have had way to many storms and tornados. Today the meaning of this song is reveled.
God pulled you through all this for a reason!! He does not make mistakes!! He has blessed you with life, you take it in whatever form you can!! You will be ok!! God will see to that!! I'm sorry your wife didn't see it that way!! Always put God first and you will be blessed beyond ways you can't imagine. Maybe you are here to help others in situations like yourself. Give it time. I will keep you in my prayers!!
Blessing to you my Brother, you've lasted this long meaning no storm was too big to you. Hopefully you've found someone who actually knows what unconditional love means and till death so us part.

The live version is sooooo much better than the original. Hank was really on it that night. This video has a certain aura about it that I can't explain. Makes you feel like you were at that show or something. Whatever it is, a great song, with well thought out lyrics. The outlaws were something else. There will never be another point in time like that. Country music has really gone down the shitter. In fact, calling it country music is a slap in the face to all who paved the way. Waylon would give all these new "artists" the three stooges open handed paint brush bitch slap if he was still around. RIP Waylon

What a beautiful song. Thanks for helping raise me Hank Jr. My grandfather introduced Hanks music to me when I was very young. He’s been my favorite singer my entire life. I met a girl in the mid 90’s who loved Hank music too. So I married her! We’ve been married 19 years this month.
It sounds so good because it's from the heart and soul!!!!!!! Even though guitars are out of tune and he had a little to much to drink before this song. It's still great👍👍😃😃😃😃😁😁😁

3 years later and here I am, still enduring the rain, the pain all for the gain of God's love and light. Glad you agree another country soul like mine...
I heard Hank coming through the speakers when I was little and now he comes through when I need him. Always the good stuff right where you need it. ~~~~~Brad Cooley
I just lost my paw paw, and this hits home, I can't stand no more rain
So sorry for your loss
Jesus Loves you and your dad
3 years later and here I am, still enduring the rain, the pain all for the gain of God's love and light. I will make my pawpaw proud and I will surely see him once again, I can say these past 3 years have been the years of awakening from this drug, hate, anger and self righteous dark path of sin, to realizing That with forgiveness, love and God's mercy and grace, I can and will endure it all for the betterment of my character and most importantly for My struggle with sin, to be a testimony of God's loving mercy and all-understanding of our struggles of life, I know that I will certainly fall and fail in life again and many things, and now I know that it's inevitable because we are all human beings, so we must learn that whatever is dealt to us, we must find a way to endure, accept it, and have faith in The Lord our God's will , be it for the glorification and Santifacation of God and the surely betterment of ourselves.
Didn't grow up listening to country music, but I really like this. It has real feeling, real soul. he can sing powerfully.
I grew up listen to all of them
Bill Jones saw HAnk 1st time 83 listen every day ✌
being southern makes this so much more special, you can feel the real emotion from where “country” started. Hank Jr will forever be the greatest to ever do it.
