In an interesting connection between the dragon the werewolf lore, I read today that the Lamia stories starting around 400 BCE, that are related to dragons, are the likely inspiration for the fox spirits (Kitsune) of eastern Asia starting around 800 CE or earlier that would involve foxes taking the form of a seductive women to entice and marry men. These fox wives would be very similar to werewolves.
Great connections- that would also tie into the fox/werewolf imagery possibly as well! Thanks for sharing
