As I'm playing Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom while listening to this, I can't help but notice some possible inspirations for certain aspects of the game from ancient Meso-American culture. Two that stand out the most to me is: the Zonai serpent motif being very similar to the serpent's head shown at 12:29, and the game has a sky area, a serface area, and a depths area very similar to what's described at 14:43. It's so cool to see references to mythology in popular media.
This is an incredible way to finish up my evening--tea and dragons, delivered in a way that is simultaneously compelling and relaxing.

I'm not sure if I'm conflating a real memory with that of a dream here but I once saw what-looked-like a giant creature moving through the storm clouds at a very high speed.

The most badass flag in the world, that of Wales/Cymru, depicts a dragon. "Y ddraig goch ddyry cychwyn" (The Red Dragon shows the way [or] gives impetus [or] prepares to advance) is a Welsh motto. It's been a long time since I've read the _Mabinogion_ but, if I remember, one of the terrors of Albion was a horrendous scream that pierced the entire island once a year. It was the combat between the red dragon (the Brythonic people of Britain) and the white dragon (the western Germanic peoples).

We do not know, nor could we ever know, if there were civilizations on earth 60 million years ago. There would be no evidence left of them anywhere to be found so it's just as possible as there were civilizations back then as there weren't
No, we do know, I’m afraid. Evolutionary science has got a rough time line of the human species pretty down packed. Our earliest ancestors, the Sahelanthropus, only just started coming out of ape-like form 6 million years ago.
@@CinziaDuBois We don't know. dinosaurs could have had a civilization. Another species could've arose, evolved and gone extinct. Aliens could've had a vacillation here then. We just don't know.
@@CinziaDuBois Dinos are ancestors for birds. Some birds, like the super smart crows/ravens, use tools. Dinos had larger brains than modern birds. Chance are good that some Dinos could use tools.
Where did the hot-as-dragon's-breath librarian go? All I see is (quite charming) coastlines...
I tried to find if anyone else mentioned this detail but I think nobody has so far. The T goes before the L in those Nahuatl words (like the name of the language for example).
Reading the T in the end of the word is a super common mistake, not only for dyslexic people, and it's completely understandable, but I wanted to let you know just in case you do more videos with these words. Now the proper Nahuatl pronunciation of that T-L is very difficult for anyone that isn't a native Nahuatl speaker and I butcher it every time I try, but saying the L in the end and not the T is a good start.

@@EmL-kg5gn Well, what I was saying is I think pronouncing it like the end of the word "turtle" is good enough (as opposed to like in "salt"), but in reality it's different, I don't know how to explain it, but I'm sure I've seen a UA-cam video with examples of it and there are probably more, I have no patience to find it now but you can try.

The content of the video is impeccable as always, and I love that you took us on a journey literally all over the world, but I have to say that the overly exaggerated sexy mysterious voice you put on was a bit off putting for me. Particularly at the beginning, I felt like you were laying it on way too thick. I don't mean this as hate, just constructive criticism ❤
Thank you. I wasn’t trying to be sexy at all, I was just speaking slower because people who are not native speakers of English keep telling me they find me hard to understand when I speak my usual speed. And I just spoke quieter because that will be the tone of the podcast. I’m afraid I want to keep the more quiet tones for the podcast but my normal videos will be the same so those will be less irritating haha.
