  • SWING WIDE! Rotator rescues trailer stuck on yellow concrete pole - Received this fun job from my buddy Mark at Mr. C's to tackle this loaded trailer stuck on a concrete pole. This happens semi-frequently in the city of Vernon where I rescue these guys that don't turn wide enough on the small streets.
The easy part is rigging the rear of the trailer, lifting then swinging it. The damage caused by the crash...not so much. Shifted axle, bent rims, blown tires, ripped trailer, all of the above. Tire service arrived quickly to single out the front axle, so the driver can limp it to my yard about 2 miles down.
Once at my yard, company sent a new trailer and my crew transloaded everything over so the product can make it to its final destination. Nothing too crazy with this one, but still a bit tricky. Also please forgive me if the video quality isn't up to my usual standards. I'm still learning iPhone videography and was using a defective anamorphic 1.33 lens.
►All footage was shot with my iPhone 14 Pro. I also edit my own footage using Adobe Premiere Pro.
►My company logo and intro/outro graphics were created by / sa.creations
►I purchase my rigging equipment from: baileystowinginc.com/main.sc

It's always good to pay attention to your driving.. especially in very tight spots as this.. patience.. patience wins all of the time instead of rushing and not paying attention as to what is going on with the rear end of the trailer..

catastrophic damage is an understatement Josh 😂😂. Those poles are no joke on a trailer and the damage they inflict.

The old ADDAGE "Swing Wide It's A Flippin Trailer" came to mind Josh Then it really Goes Further Part Of Commercial Driving is to Watch the mirrors and Double Check your Routes to ensure you can make the turns and understanding Varying Off tracking when you Adjust the Sliding Tandems and the whole back Swing Of the Trailer! The minute he felt the Bump He should have Stopped instead he Kept Going!!! Common Sense isn't Common these days

You have to wonder why bollard was installed at that corner? Bollard was probably installed to protect the electrical pole. This corner looks like a repeat incident site. Ruined the truckers whole day.

Wow really? I am my own worst critic then lol I was very disappointed with this one but put the video out anyway. It's 100% done with my iPhone 14 pro but I used a 1.33 anamorphic lens. It was my first time using this lens (notice how it's super widescreen with the black bars on top and bottom?). Glad you liked it tho, I'll be learning how to use the lens better for future videos.

    Merry Christmas.
there's a couple tight corners I deal with in Cincinnati. This one is a side st to get into a container depot. The cars HATE having to back up for me to clear the corner. And I'm usually only a daycab and 40 ft container.
And if you Google how to get in it sends you into a residential dead end.
    That's some scary damage there.
Will it need an off load to get those x members fixed. My co. That would be a Post accident drug test and 4 days off.

my 1 question is why fight taking the rim off if the tire is already gone and you'll be chaining it up anyway... it's not likely to go anywhere anyway... plus, will the driver haul the broken trailer to your yard or will it need put on a landoll due to the damage.... after transferring load to another trailer, cuz that one is DONE!!

Only because I don’t know, why did you lift from the very rear of the trailer when there are designated lift points on the sides near the rear axils?

    • @bobh6728
      @bobh6728 Рік тому

Easier to lift from the rear. To lift from the sides is for overhead cranes. He would need two trucks or a spreader bar to lift with one truck.
The lift points are to avoid damage, but obviously the damage is already done.
