      For sure you can tell it's not 500 by the way he breaks it off the ground as well the first rep.

    One of the best hockey players in the world, and one of the best pure goalscorers in the history of the game.

    Stamkos is a mensch no matter how easy or difficult this lift is! I watched him take a hundred-mph puck to the face in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2011 and he was on the ice in the next period! Guy is a stud no matter what you tell me about the lift!

    Hockey workouts are designed for explosion, which is why the pop. His actual weight without the explosive portion is probably higher. Same reason that jumpsquats are preferred to loading up a huge squat rack

    Do the gym rats posting here realize that Steven Stamkos is probably one of the best pure goal scorers in the NHL? I'm sure he doesn't need your criticism.

      What does that have to do with weight lifting?

    At first I took your reply as a rude type of sarcastic mainly because I didn't know Steven Stamkos is a NHL player. I just thought it was some regular guy who was deadlifting 500lbs. I also didn't see your last post, so I apologize for jumping to conclusions.

    Very jealous. In fact I replied as such. I even went so far as to call myself a nitwit. I'd love to have this guy play for my favorite team. Hell. I even withdrew my remark and apologized for my moment of indiscretion.

    There is a reason he's a 50+ goal scorer

    From my understanding, its not recommended to pop up like that during the lift.

    Why do you people think he is on roids? He does this shit so he has a faster shot, which leads to a better scoring chance. He doesn't do roids.

    You jealous bro? Just because someone lifts more than you doesn't mean he's on steroids.

  • @Snstrmdgt
    @Snstrmdgt 11 років тому

    Hahah! I received too many negative votes! I know it's not steroids. I was just being a nitwit New York Rangers fan. Please. I know Stamkos is a great player...who will probably play for the Rangers...when he's past his prime. Sad but oftentimes true. I hereby take back my disparaging remark and officially apologize for any hatred or anger that I may have incurred. Happy days and all that.

    2 reps of 400 lbs is believable for a 15 year old. A 14 year old who workouts in the same gym as me does 375 lbs.

      I am both a hard-core hockey fan and cycling fan… The Tour de France is the most intense sporting event on the planet because you have to ride for over 2000 miles several hours a day for 3 weeks up hills and in terrible conditions.
      Such a cyclist has to be in great shape.
