I lived in my condo in LA for 16 years. I didn’t know the names of my neighbors on the same floor. Three weeks ago I moved into my house in Ghana. I met Charlotte on the left side, Ebow on the right side, Kwame across the street and Roger around the corner the day after I moved in. All have reached out to check that I’m doing OK.
ha ha
That is living; priceless!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Get out
That's how human beings to live, but in USA,the neighbors are not welcoming you the black........
The fresh fruit is so good in Ghana. Especially pineapples.
@Evelyn Golden - We have a guy in the neighborhood that daily comes through with a wheel barrel full of 'em. Nothing better than fresh home delivered pineapple and thanks for the comment 😊!
I feel suffocated mentally, spiritually and physically, in America. My whole soul yearns for shift to being back around my people, the culture, music, food, beautiful landscapes and soo much more. Racism always “moves the bar” on Black people in America, economically, politically socially. Some of us seem to be okay with it. I’m not.
Goodall Knight, I concur 100%. we haven’t visited yet, but planning for transitioning to Africa. I CANT WAIT!!!!
Your comment is so true! I feel you so much on this! I feel the same way!!!
I love the way you guys are in love being in Ghana and Africa in general
Thanks so much for that @Gerrie D, really appreciate it 😉!
If someone follows you in a store in Ghana that means they want to provide you a service.
@Nii Amu - There is that one guy that always wants you to buy his CD at the Game store at Accra Mall. Other than that it fells good not to be profiled and thanks for the comment 😊!
Here in Florida women are wearing African garbs more and more. I love the colors, how neat and crisp the patterns are. I met a nurse from Nigeria it was so exciting to talk about food and her home life. God bless
@Dee Dee Bak - Maybe its that Caribbean vibe and thanks for the comment 😊!
God, I love these two... can't explain the joy I feel watching these two. 😍😍😍
It is fun to watch the body language between both of them.
This was a wonderful video on such an important topic.
@castro8021 -We appreciate the love and thanks for the comment 😊!
I love this video ! Great content
I am going back to Atlanta in a few months. I am not looking forward to it. Leaving the Black Man's Paradise to return Amerikka is not a good feeling.
I just love this family... beautiful awesome family
Thanks so much! We appreciate that.
Your speaking the truth. Thank you ... Many Blessings to you and your family.
Thanks Ayo (Joy) and Tony. Informative content. God bless you
There's no fear that you're going to end up dead......Empress, family, do you fully innerstand that statement and how we must be living in the state of trauma at all points in time in the US? Sit with this for a moment, "no fear that you're going to end up dead." We're in Squid Games here. Soon come.
I tell you As a black man any time the police stops me what’s is on my mind
Take the abuse No talk backs live today and Sue them tomorrow
@Black Karen Speaks -I know how you feel and it is why we left. We fear for our adult children there constantly and thanks for the comment 😊!
@@burntbronze.9082 ain't that sad?
been following...you guys are amazing! trust me, we see you. we love you. peace.
I didn’t want to return state side💔and I’m soooo excited to return to Africa ❤️❤️❤️
@Lynda Ovando -The good life awaits you and thanks for the comment 😊!
Thanks for sharing! Love you two! As far as clothing, my husband is going to go bananas wearing African clothing! He loves colors and patterns! Can’t wait to visit 💃🏾
Love it!!
Sister looks so beautifully 🤗😇🥰🇬🇭🇬🇧
It is a police state. I am freer here in China.
In America, I once saw three white guys beating up a brown man on the street. What shocked me was that there were two policemen a block away watching. After the fight, no not fight, beating... The police walked over and arrested the brown man.
I wish that I had the courage and fighting ability to do something about it. But I didn't.
In China, where I live, I could not imagine such a thing happening.
I just found a $70 ticket/fine stuck in the windshield of a car I'd parked right in front of my house (by my mailbox). The reason? The tags had expired for three days, which I wasn't aware of because I rarely drive that car. My fault, yes, but this wouldn't happen in Ghana. The system squeezes you in so many ways, some of which feel like a scam, albeit legal!
@P Y - The corruption there is legal and thanks for the comment 😊!
Except the person who placed the $70 on the screen happened to be a Ghanaian.
@@odengkwasi No, county Police officer, not in Ghana.
@@ExpatLifeGhana
Legal corruption is a perfect way to describe it.
@ PY, you are so right about the system squeezing you in many ways here! Look at the speed cameras that fine you for speeding? Just one example. Or your car being towed and you have to pay to get it back.
I will never move back to America 🇺🇸, I avoid having to travel there
Loved the video. You are spot on about so
Many things in America that we’re just oblivious to. Me and my wife plan on visiting Ghana in a few months. I will definitely contact you regarding airport pickup and recommendations on where to stay. Thanks for the information again and see you soon.
The police don't come after you for being black in Ghana.
@Nii Amu - That would be a challenge here and thanks for the comment 😊!
But they come for your money
@@gibson2675, You rather be dead in America by the hands of police? Or pay a dollar to escape a larger fine in Ghana? Choose one!
If it is so peaceful in Ghana. Why do you live behind an electrified fence?
I can say..you look very beautiful .Everything you wear looks wonderful. How are the young men doing?'Beautiful family.
Love the creativity and color!
Do you have Churches on every corner like here in Milwaukee, With or mega churches in Texas? ;-)

Very informative and true.🥰
Tony and Ayo beautiful people!
I’m back in Ghana for the sixth time!
To answer your question. The US of A is the land of the free for Caucasian people. I would love to leave but…. I have to be able to support myself. You are one of the lucky ones.
The things I missed is the weather and the people see you all in September.
It so sad and heart breaking things the African Americans have to go through on a daily basis and still going through now.
I’m learning so much from you guys-thank you for sharing your experiences- it’s good to know you’re happy in Gh xx
if Ghana was developed it will be a great country..they need to be strict and implement tough laws where people face long jail times for driving littering. those are bad in Ghana
We will get there
So proud of how you promoting Ghana.welldone now pls start speaking Twi..Try plss.
Hi ,my beautiful people, I wear Africa clothes to church in USA,and they look at me and say ooh that's beautiful......and I ask myself, why they don't wear Africa clothes here......because they think, they will make Africa rich or develop........that's why.........
No kidding. The clothing in America is so DRAB! I love my African wear - I'm in color all summer long and all year long at Sunday mass. It's my small contribution to African cultural imperialism. The world needs more Africa!
Love your videos...keep up the great videos.im planing a trip there soon...
I admire your strength to make such a move to Ghana. It sounds like you never felt 100% at home in the US. I think that I can understand that, but do you have a sense as to how much of our US black population doesn’t feel at home, here in the US.
My closest friends are black and I believe that they’re extremely “at home” here in the US. Are they rare?
most dont but have learnt to accept it. Not accepting it means you experience extreme distance from the rest of the population which can really affect one mentally and financially. This is mostly sub conscious
That’s how I felt coming back and I realize we don’t greet each other on the street
Hello,
I'm a little confused about the police in Ghana. In Pryor videos, you stated that the police officers in Ghana are always looking for money. How is that better?
Africa in general people don't look at you as black but people identify the tribe or your ethnic grouping.
I love this!! Thanks for the insight! I am mentally preparing for my exit from America!
I am normally considered "white," but I have sometimes been mistaken for a Native American (Hun ancestors many hundreds of years ago) and I must say, even that level of otherness has sometimes left me on the "outside."
Hey, proper tacos can be awesome taste wise and nutrition wise...that is, not garbage from Taco Bell.
Treated figgerently, in a bad way. #truth Treated badly. #facts Plenty of stats to support the intentional Bad treatment.
Ayo and Tony! That was a very DIPLOMATIC conversation on Racism in America. Ayo! Your headwrap, smokey eyes and beautiful blouse speak volumes of your comfortability in Ghana. Tony! Your T-shirt...well...well...lol! Yeah!
Once l worked in one of these small Texas Town and l was supposed to get off at 7pm, my relief pharmacist told me to leave at 5 and said “Kenny you do want darkness to fall on you in this town” those were his exact words. I thanked him and quietly drove out of the town
Was it Vidor, Texas?
@@NIO623 No this actually happened in Jasper Tx, I’ve work in Vidor and lumberton Tx and they all the same
Jasper, TX! Is that not the town where these two white Neo-Nazis, Skinheads tied a black guy to the back of their truck and drove around. When they were convicted in court, the Texas house wrote a hate crime bill for George Bush to sign it and he refused. George Bush was then the Governor of Texas.
interesting topic
Shalom. America is the land of our captivity. Those of us that are still here, we're in hell at the hands of the oppressors. I'm really enjoying y'all's videos. Very enlightening.
You are not aware of your blackness in Ghana.
Yayyyy I’m first today
16 year old boy from Florida was riding his bike and he was stopped by the police ,they said it was a stolen bike and they handcuffed him and put him in the police car ,the 16 year old told them it was his bike and it was a Christmas present ,after police investigation they found out the bike belongs to the 16 year old and yet he was still taken away for being rude they said
Very Very Sad and disturbing.
What kind of People are those Police in America who has only hate for the Citizens
Sad…..
Living in Atlanta you never have to worry about being the only you, you have to worry about whether the "you" is a problem or not & you experience them negative stereotypes from you own people it's a shame really. The hardest thing about coming back home from overseas for me however is getting back into the groove of life, things don't move slow in ATL and when you are abroad people seem to move at a snail pace which irritates me but you grow to appreciate it but when back in the states that's over. I'm a little different from you all though because I hate the lack of food choices in those countries, I don't always want native food, in America we eat everything so it's hard having to eat the same type of food daily. I could be off but I feel like you all have done this video before or something like it , you've covered this.
Hey you guys. Good episode. I wear my African prints. I het them sent to me from Nigeria. I love standing out. My dressing in Ankara cloth is intentional.
Reaching 🤣🤣that’s hilarious
TY for sharing!!😊
My grandchildren are part black and I do worry about them going out and about, because what they might come to face with!!!!
I PRAY and PRAY for their safety!!!!
Just because they are mixed, they say BLACK it is, no such thing as they are mixed, just as long as you have black, you are considered BLACK!!!! The first time I heard that saying, I corrected someone and said, ""they are not only BLACK, there are mixtures of other native blood going on in there too!!"" They still said, ""BLACK!!""
Hmmm!!!!....
Well you are black where it counts, Remember this is world they created
We knowvwho is the they.
In Ghana they'd be white 🤷🏼♀️

Happy Independence Day to all of the people of Ghana
So...is it hating "being black" in America or is it white supremacy/white nationalism that one would hate when being back in America. Being black is good in America and Africa, right 🤔
I think that in Ghana you're not 'black', you're just human, because everyone is black therefore black can't be an issue. Like when he said, if he goes in a store, he's not going to have someone following him around expecting him to steal BECAUSE HE IS BLACK. They may follow him; they may even follow him because they think he's going to steal something, but that would be because of him INDIVIDUALLY, not because he belongs to a particular race.
In the west, your blackness walks in the door before your personal name does. We've found ways to make that ok, but I too LOVE when I'm just an invisible person not standing out. It's like that when I'm on holiday in Jamaica.
whaoow let me take a seat and listen and watch, this will be interesting
Please, please, please share some of the good places to go in Tema to have a good time. This had been my problem when I visit Ghana (I stay at Tema). Nice video. Keep up the good work. Very beneficial to us in the diaspora.
@Peter Murphy - Stay at our Airbnb opening up in May 2022! We can then take you to Bliss Clubhouse, Passions, The Greens Lounge, Zarzar's, Bar B Lounge, Monte Carlo or any of the other places that we could guarantee a good time at and thanks for the comment 😊!
There is a lot of anxiety and apprehension when we engage each other in America..guess what i have lived in my subdivision for 10yrs and yet have only said hello to my neighbors..i dont experience this when am in Ghana
Thank you for your comment! ❤️️👍😊
Acquainted, u an from Sierra Leone and u kind if understand. .
Whew, you guys are always 'On Point'🌼. It's such a tight-rope walk we (melinated folks) are forced to navigate here in the states. I couldn't have said it better.
Chocolate city is not so chocolate anymore. The amount off homeless Black men living in tents is disheartening.
March 6 is the 65th - Ghanaian Independence Day!
Y'all are feeding the dream. Thank you! ☕
Our pleasure!
Ooh my
Uncle Tony you're making me salivating here in Sydney Australia#Tilapia & banku
Bless up guys
Things I don't like about the US :
1. The overall lack of love.
2. The black on black homicide rate (approx. 2,600 murders a year in the US)
3. Police killing of unarmed black men and women.
4. Medical costs (for hospitalization and medicine).
5. The winters and the snow (shoveling).
6. The racism (some is institutionalized, but in a subtle way)
7. Housing segregation.
8. Repeated findings were black Americans received less health care than white Americans.
9. Minority groups have higher incidence of chronic diseases like cancer.
10. Gentrification.
11. The stress and the never ending greed for more money.
You people have fallen for the exaggerations and lies told about people of color. in 2018, the Federal Bureau of Investigation reported that 81% of white victims were killed by white offenders, and 89% of Black victims were killed by Black offenders. In 2020, the FBI reported almost identical figures - 80% of white victims were killed by white offenders, and 88% of Black victims were killed by Black offenders. YES...there is black on black crime of course. But there's also white on white, etc.
Hi Tony & Ayo - New York un the house .
The food is great here .in Ghana 🇬🇭
I am American. You guys are so funny.
Land of the free for some Africans .
Great video! I miss the variety of foods in America when in Ghana, but I love the absence of seeing and interacting with non black people while in Ghana!
@Kim - For sure we understand that and thanks for the comment 😊!
I am white, my husband is black a happenstance of birth. We are human beings and when in Ghana or any other country we interact with other human beings. Ghana is not intrinsically racist, they have no issue interacting with white people. Be careful you don't take your own prejudices with you to Ghana.
So you select where you go to
I love your videos and I guys keep on inspiring👍
Great comment - Thanks for adding to the conversation ❤️️💛💚!
Lovely video Tony and Ayo. Ayo looks great in her African print though. The fabric looks beautiful!! 🙌🏽
@Faith Beema - She rocks the prints very well and thanks for the comment 😊!
So now we will make your husband a sub chief and you will be a queen. So glad hearing how far you have adjusted wonderfully into the culture...Very proud of you...welldone..when we hear these,,,it just feels our souls as you now feel peace in soul and even missed your banku and jollourf..Amazing.
I agree with you all the way it will be great to be there
I live in Wi and my area has a LOT of black people. Majority of the people where I live are black but our city has mixed population. I have been here for 6 months. I don’t live in Milwaukee. Funny thing is I didn’t tell my family where I was moving ( because where I lived was not near my family)but when I did tell them where I found a cousin lives a couple miles from me. ( my family is HUGE)
As a white person who has not been to Milwaukee are there areas that I should not go to? The same question for Houston?
For some but not us
Those are some of the reasons I am moving to the Motherland after I retire this July. What are some nice places outside of Accra to live? Fast Internet and a clean and organized community is what I am looking for.
@drl15son - We may be biased but Tema is REAL nice and thanks for the comment 😊!
Come to Takoradi the oil city of Ghana. It's nice there
Sunyani!
Koforidua
Near Accra
Nice weather
Fairly big town But not as fast paced as Accra
Try Prampram, I hear it's a thriving town with some serious development going on there.
Greetings Love you both the more I listen and watch yall the more I want to leave here for good and live in Ghana. .I live in New Orleans the food in Ghana and New Orleans are about a tie. But everything else you mentioned was on point, I try to wear as must African clothes and jewelry as I can. Planning my second trip for the Holidays..
@troy banks - We would love to host you when you make your second trip home. Our Airbnb will be up and running May 1st and thanks for the comment 😊!
@@ExpatLifeGhana Cool, I’ll keep checking the website..
Processed foods make up close to 70 percent of the U.S. diet. Frozen fruits and vegetables count as processed, but this is still a sobering statistic.
I live in Madison, WI. The open “joke” among Isreslites is
“Come for vacation and leave on probation”
Greetings Expat Life Ghana, the topic of being Black in America as well as most Western countries worldwide are topics that deserves continued dialog. Our Ancient Egyptian ancestors were for the most part vegetarian or vegan You see, after doing a thorough study of Black Our Story, I over stood that Black Leaders and Priest of the days of Ancient Egypt finally had to take odds (War) with the Western Leaders of those days, thousands of years ago over the unacceptable behaviors and attacks on our people and lands. Their unacceptable behaviors and malfeasance continues to this very day as they ( The Plutocrat and Oligarch) have declared war on all Black Peoples and Lands, seen and unseen, however The Blacks (Dark Matter, Black Deities) are still in complete Control of the creation itself and there's nothing that be done about it. America is the Land of the Free for Whites, and those considered to be so called White. Thanks for sharing.
Boring clothes. Our colors are vibrant. There is style and more fashion.
They rep with $200+ Nike..cultural practices help reinforce confidence, ambition loads of things
We are all africans my sister and brother
Texas can be quite an experience for Black People. I was born here in Texas, and returned after a 18 months in Europe and 17 years in New York City. I have truly had to readjust since my return almost 7 years ago.
I love all the bright beautiful colors too.
Will you be giving up your u.s. citizenship?
Love your channel!
@Anna Mostella - Going dual citizenship and thanks for the comment 😊!
Anna, Tony and Ayo don't have to give up their US Citizenship, they can be dual citizens of Ghana and USA.
*Hugs* to all African americans. Wish we could resettle you all
I've been to Ghana but you guys haven't mentioned one thing only thing I don't like about is police robbery talk about that a little
I love your channel. What a beautiful family! To look forward to your videos is such a delight. I dream of one day going to Africa to experience the culture, to be among people who look like me. As a person of color, unfortunately for me I just don't have the income to sustain myself in Africa, such as housing, etc. Also, emotional support-- friends who are there for you through thick and thin is something I think about sometimes. To have a spouse who has a recent connection to Africa helps too.I am 57 years old, so there are medical issues I must address and take care of. You know, I have been to other countries such as Brazil; I even lived there for more than 2 years. Although I often felt at home there, I was really not at home. I know this is a contradiction, but when I took the glasses off or put them on, I was really a foreigner in a strange land. The people who called me brother, saw me that way too; they often took advantage of me. In the USA, I have experienced racism to the tenth degree; god forbid, I would rather go to jail here in America than go to jail in Brazil--I know, another contradiction. In conclusion, I wish with all my heart to live in Africa, but as you spoke of before, only some can really make it there. Please, keep making your wonderful videos, most of all, for people such as I. Best wishes to All.
One of the things I hate about the west is that people don't speak to each other on the streets, stores, transit.. Etc
When returning to the states, I miss the people of Liberia, food, clothes, and beaches.
The cold and junk food were hard . I finally lost weight there.
I admire you both ver much. God willing l will be in Ghana in September. Much love
Great content as always
Thanks so much for that @Kwadwo Baah, really appreciate it 😉!
I noticed a lot more rudeness and accusations toward you if something goes wrong around
They should give you something to head you ate wise and know stuff
nothing for me. I was glad to be back.
