Ayo and Tony, you forgot the most important thing about Ghana: No School Shootings and No Active Shooter Drills in Schools!!! Children are free from that psychological stress.
Here is one. If you invite a Ghanaian friend(s) out for dinner or drinks you should be prepared to pay the bill for everyone. And pot-luck? Forget it! If you are having a party at your place you supply the food and drinks. And if you invite 10 people expect 20+ to show up.
It's amazing that the things that Americans find intolerable Jamaicans have learned to live with it lights go out get out the led lights water gets turned off there is water stored there is so much sun in Africa heat the water by the sun these cultures live comfortably with no problem stress free

On the issue of marriage, Ghanaian men or African men sometimes want to marry American women because American women are foreign, or it is not always because of money. Being foreign sometimes makes people attractive.
I went to boarding school in Ghana at 11years old, this is when Ghana had the old school system. 7years of schooling the equivalent to junior and senior high in the US. Definitely the fraternity is stronger when you are part of boarding school, similar to what you will find being an alumni of a college in the US.

This is great. You are all right about Boarding Schools in Ghana. It’s the best. I attended Prempeh College in Kumasi. The best experience ever. Prempeh College have one of the best Old Students Association; Amanfuo. Learned a lot of discipline and life lessons, the United States Marine Corps was an ease to go through, due to the boarding school experience and the United States Army have been far easier to adjust to. The competitions, the leadership responsibilities, the sports, the national quizzes, the debates and the comradery are great memories to live by. I still find myself singing our school anthem and never forget our school motto: Character and Integrity. Great content. Love you all.
You guys are hitting it on the nail. Born and bread in Ghana I just cant stop laughing how truthful everything u are saying.
From what I was by my elders, the high school boarding was invented to bring young people together. As in muslims and Christians and other religions can live together because the diversity was too wide and therefore they needed a way to bring everyone together just to avoid any future conflicts among the various religions and ethnic groups

Some goes to boarding school from high school and continue in college so with this,they become more independent ........on their own.I love the market place........with these women....ooh mennn.........
Hot water is actually.mot good for our system if you ever get used to taking cold baths or cold showers you will never use a hot shower ever

LOL I know what you mean about being seen but not recognized. We were building. From my job in the west I know a lot about construction. My partner has two left hands! But I remember the look on the builder's face when I specify a result that we wanted. He would look at me with a stunned look for a moment then turn to my partner as if to say " This woman, bra" My partner had to tell him "just do what she says". He still tried to discuss updates with my partner first until he realized he still had to talk to me in order to get a go ahead.
Yes the peace in Ghana is just Wow. That is why it is the second most peaceful country in Africa after Mauritius. AGREED.
My friend from Liberia went to boarding school in middle school. She went to an all-girls school.
For malaria after you have been there a while you form the antibodies. Every country has its good and bad it’s just what type of bad you want to deal with. Am all for my home country as I plan my return after living outside for over 20years. Enjoy Ghana
Hi Tony and Ayo when we built we put hot water tank in each bathroom and the kitchen. Once you get use to the cold water they never get used. Love the 10 things, they are true. Some schools have boarding kids a young as 8yrs old. Live in the Eastern region not much mosquitoes there.👍🏾😊

Also, the new settlement of our brothers in Ghana is Prampram which is just about 30 minutes drive from Tema ( an originally well planned city). I am a native of Ningo-Prampram, live my teenage years in Tema but lol, currently living in Houston, Texas.

I couldn't imagine boarding a HS student in America even the elite do that in moderation. I know my nerves would be tore to pieces with my kids gone like that. Now I know I made a comment on one of your post a while ago about being viewed as a check in these foreign countries and it wasn't well received, which made me think they had never traveled because that is a real thing no matter what country you go to as an American be black, white or indifferent; as soon as you open your mouth people associate that accent with money and they coming for it. Now this is my opinion but i've been to about 15 different countries in different regions of the world and that was the experience in all of them. It's good to see y'all living there actually admit that.

If you are a CPA accountant, you will make a good income (up to $6000 a month) because of the respect attached to it compared to local accountants. This cert is huge in Accra and other industrial cities, demanded by multinationals corporations.

18:13 The Roundabout Rule is,
when a car to ur left is already in the circle, u wait, ( like a car in the circle is about 8 o'clock to 7 o'clock from you). and when you're in the circle you don't stop, keeping moving, and don't stop in the circle for a car to get in front of you.
Word of caution, when a woman is driving towards never try to cross her, say e.g. a T junction or inside a roundabout.

Great information...yes malaria is real that is one thing I do not miss having relocated used to catch Malaria more like every quarter was hospitalized twice and put on drips. Seems some are more susceptible to it I guess.

Lamentablemente work habits worldwide are related to labor laws and management styles; it’s VERY difficult to fire people in some countries maybe in Ghana,too, and haughty businessmen often engender no sense of teamwork in employees to advance the business. People with blood group O draw mosquitoes like magnets. Be aware of that. Love your videos; things are the same but different. Still enchanted and watching in Uruguay.

I really like your chanel. I was about to visit Ghana, as I'm looking for a Plan B to Europe, and I selected KENYA instead. It's more developped in terms of infrastructure and the culture and the general mindset fit me more. The vibes in Nairoby makes me feel home. I would probably visit Ghana one day. I'm enjoying Kenya and I'm trying to forget I'll have to return to Europe in 7 days. Thanks for the videos, you're great.

I just spent two weeks in Ghana I got two proposals just getting off the plane smh I definitely appreciated Cape Coast more than Accra. Accra was way way to much for me

It was me and a client of mine and I had a client move there and open business but we had the best driver,/tour guide so that made things go a lot smoother but it was definitely an experience to say the least

Ayo and Tony hope you’re doing great 😄😄 You’re absolutely right about customer service. It is that bad! There’s no excuse for that, I feel bad about that as a Ghanaian.
You can get things done, but veeeeeeery slow pace. Telcos are worse but I’ve also gotta say there are outliers. Very rarely you’d find companies that have good customer service but those are rare. I hope it changes.
How do you wash dishes without hot water? Do you have to heat water on the stove?

Senior high schools are free all the boarding schools are free maybe you only pay something very like for PTA but apart from that it’s totally free,In all the 16 regions in Ghana

@@ExpatLifeGhana In Ghana,for high schools,most of the best with good infrastructures are the public boarding schools.There are about 1182 of them scattered across the country which students are being posted to after writing BECE exams and under the new system all of them are free so the idea of dropping out and getting enough money before you continue is unrealistic.I encourage you to look into our high school system visiting a few so that it will be your next discussion.

Yeah driving is different in Ghana. Having reviewed the drivers test, the rules of the road are pretty much the same. But people don't entirely follow the rules. And motos do not follow ANY rules. Taxis and trotros are really "creative" drivers. Kinda "if you don't like how I drive then stay off the sidewalk" school of thought.
Malaria will keep me out.. I have allergic reaction to mosquitoe bites

at 6:00, treatment of women, welcome to the rest of the world. I lived in Japan for 22 years. I was not part of the dominate culture or race. I am fluent in Japanese and some Japanese will ask your Japanese wife a question in Japanese, you then reply in Japanese, and they ask the follow up question to your wife again. Same thing, they see you but do not recognize you.
