I'm very happy watching your video. Thank you for being so honest in your review. I'll be coming to Budapest as a solo black female traveller next month. Hopefully, I won't experience any acts of racism 😊
Racism is rarely observed in Hungary, except against Gypsies who cannot conform to social norms. Religion rather than skin colour is the determining factor; people of the Islamic religion are the most feared in Hungary. The government strongly emphasises that there is no need for inter-ethnic mixing, because the country has Christian roots and we do not want a caliphate, which is what many people of Islamic faith who have settled in many countries are already loudly proclaiming, for example in Canada and Germany. The Jewish population also lives safely in Hungary. And there is no aversion in anyone to Hinduism or any other Eastern religion from Asia. As long as people of different religions live side by side with respect for each other, I think the colour of the skin is not a determining factor in the country. Enjoy our country, discover our beautiful Budapest and the country, in general.
I believe the reason why you see (relatively) so much black working in tourism here, because these jobs often dont require you to speak hungarian nor any extensive training, so these are good opportunites for someone who is just settling in or for students.
, but why should Black People have to learn from 'other people' on how to take care of ourselves? What can those people teach us, that we don't already know, or haven't already put into practice during pasttimes?
The reason you don't see them is most black working class people here, don't usually hang out in the center. They are mostly career driven and about 50% are religious so there's a high chance you will see them in a church or a place of worship. There are also blacks with businesses here they are mostly on the buda side, private and have families.
Are you planning on going to Slovenia? I went there a few months ago and spent about 10 days there, I was medium key expecting some bull 💩 to happen seeing how it’s 99.9% white Slavic but nothing zilch nada damn thing negative happened I was treated very well even in the small villages that I know for a fact don’t see us black folks on a regular basis, Zasip Slovenia was so amazing it’s a village in the mountains and the locals were so nice I didn’t get any weird stares nothing but waves and the “sup bruh” head nod 😂 I think you would like Slovenia it’s a beautiful country small but mighty

I think you’ll enjoy it. Budapest is generally nice though at the grocery stores the security guards constantly follow black men

That’s a good point
@@SimonHillKeepsItTrill Indeed, not to seem racist, but just saying...
Hi Simon, there are a lot of black people who are in corporate jobs. We've been doing that for over a decade.
