I remember being a teenager and hearing about the Rev's death. I felt horrible about his loss after following him for so long. I knew Nightmare was going to be a deep album. When it came out, I was not disappointed at all. I remember hearing so far away for the first time. ForRever. M. Shadows is an amazing singer.
I remember exactly where I was when I found out. Me and my friend were playing basketball at his house and I checked my phone and found out. We had just gone to see them live a few months prior.
My brother died around the same time. Id play this album every single day. It felt like we were healing together and getting through it. Im so grateful for that album 💜
Nathan Thomas whilst I agree with what your saying about this song, and the video is an amazing tribute to the “REV”, and yes I saw them live when they brought out the ‘Nightmare’ album, why bring Jesus into your comment as a cuss word.....

Agreed. I was watching an interview where he explained that going into their second album he wanted to transition from just screaming to more well-written (musically and lyrically) melodies and harmonies. They would scream where they didn't know what else to do haha. They haven't let us down, even after Jimmy's passing (RIP). "Set Me Free" just dropped and it's really good, if you haven't heard it yet! 😊

When Matt puts power into his voice it’s so...unique. I’m not a singer so I don’t know the proper terms to describe the sound but it’s so powerful. And yes, Synyster Gates is amazing with the guitar lol.
YEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!Like others are saying, I haven’t clicked on a video so fast before!!! Avenged Sevenfold is my absolute FAVORITE band!!!! If you can’t tell I am super stoked right now!!!!! Please cover more Avenged you will not regret it.....if you Witness the change in the lead singer, M.Shadows, voice you will appreciate it even more. He has had to have vocal surgery due to years of screaming during his early years, and has learned to manage his voice since then. From their sounding the seventh trumpet days until now it’s amazing how much they have changed yet still pull in some of their original sound. The back up vocals you hear are the guitarists and some of them are there late drummer. They have worked with string quartets, percussionists, brass, and various other types of musicians, they truly are amazing. They have many influences, a lot of bands that you’ve covered including Pantera. When Jimmy The Rev Sullivan died I was heartbroken, but they have honored their brother and now have a new drummer who he was a fan of and is an amazing drummer as well. I’ve seen them several times live and they’re the real deal, great group of guys. Anyway, sorry for the long winded post......carry on, nothing to see here, lol, except for the fact that YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
I do wish people would stop recommending this song to reaction channels and such.... it is a shock piece, but it also tends to put reactors off A7X indefinitely

I love how hard you try not to swear when you react, Rebecca But when you do its so lovely, because thats what music is about - that release of emotion
I know im a bit late. But i still remember the first time i listened to this song 6 or 7 years ago. Will always be my most favorite ,the feelings i get cannot be described ♡
Oof I really hope you react to more of their stuff !! Especially if you wanna hear anything live, basically anything from the LBC show is wonderful, and is also when their drummer (Jimmy the Rev) is still alive. Great reaction!!
Ugh I still remember it like yesterday hearing about rev 😩😩 I’m so thankful I had the chance to meet him for a minute and get his autograph. So talented. I’m still heart broken.
I love how you engage not just with the technical side of singing, but also with the lyrics and the emotional side. I thought what you said about the main body of the song being almost conversational, like a casual reminiscence of a lost friend among other friends, was really insightful. I'd love to see you react to a couple of tracks (I hope suggesting two isn't some sort of commenting taboo!): - Bent Knee - Holy Ghost (Live at Record Co.) - Leprous - Slave (Live at Rockefeller Music Hall)
im so sorry but its been over 10 years for me and i completely forgot The Rev passed away. thank you for reminding me of such a sweet drummer. i cant believe i forgot. thank you.

I Have the chance to see AVENGED SEVENFOLD IN THE HAIL TO THE KING TOUR AND THIS SONG WAS AMAZING PLUS EMOTIONAL . I am glad that you enjoyed the song Rebecca. That is my favorite song by one of my most favorite musical acts past or present. The song and album came out a few years before my grandmother and uncle passed away whom I had lived next door to for my entire life. It was a very emotional time and this extremely emotional song really hit home with me. Anywho, keep up the great work and I will surely be back to check out your professional/personal opinions of musicians and how they sing. Cheers!!!
Will never forget seeing them a few months after my mom passed (Nightmare as a whole hits way different now) and he did a small speech before this song about losing loved ones and all that and I broke down in hysterics before the song even started. Still one of my faves. Always will be.
I think the most hauntingly relevant line is “I tried to heal your broken heart with all that I could”... The Rev was born with an enlarged heart, which would eventually had led to a terminal condition. A7X also has a song called “Brompton Cocktail” which foreshadows how he died.
This is my second favorite group, and I have loved this song for years. Unexpected side effect of watching you watch this video - you helped me experience it emotionally like never before. You are a pretty special person, one can tell from the way you feel feelings.
I still cry every time I hear this song, i obviously don't know the band personally and have never met them, but I adore them and knowing the pain they've gone through makes me cry, I love A7X. Rip Jimmy.
I'm so happy you've done one of my favourite bands 🤟 if you want to hear both Matt and Jimmy sing you gotta check out Little Piece of Heaven, Rev actually had a really good voice as well as being an insane drummer
This song was a dedication to their brother, their drummer, The Rev. Rest in peace, Jimmy. I lost my mother to cancer so this song has a deeper meaning to it now...Love you, Ma...
10 years ago, Avenged Sevenfold lost there Drummer, my Biggest Idol, James (The Rev) Sullivan... This song was made for his rememberence by the lead guitarist, his best friend, Synister Gates... I still cry every damn time I here this song...
I went to see them live. They played this song and everybody had their lighters out and if not they had phone light it was beautiful. That was back in 2010 or around then
I'm so glad you have reacted to Avenged Sevenfold, I was hoping you would get to some of their music eventually. Hope you will look at a few more of their songs
I would love to see you react to their best song which is "A Little Piece of Heaven". (Fair Warning) It's a gruesome song but there are so many vocals you can analyze in the song. The ex-drummer (Jimmy The Rev Sullivan... R.I.P.) and the lead singer (M. Shadows) did most of the vocals on it. It is a master piece that very few rock bands can pull off. They even had the other band members do back up vocals and had a choir come in. It's a dark but beautiful master piece that I feel you can grow to appreciate. Everyone A7X (Avenged Sevenfold) fan loves that song to their core. And I feel, you as a musical artist, will love it too! Hopefully you see this. :) P.S. Love the videos by the way! (Sorry for the Edit) "A Little Piece of Heaven" started out as a simple melody on a piano from the ex-drummer. He was an incredibly creative soul who loved music with a passion. It took them many weeks, if not months, to get the song going in the direction it needed to go. But to have such a dark but master piece of a song like that come from someones mind is incredibly unique and creative! I hope this comment reaches you because the song itself is ten times better then the message. The song shows just how creative and unique Avenged Sevenfold is as a band and why they deserve to be among one of the best metal bands out there!

Welcome to A7X. They tell a story with everyone of their songs. RIP Rev 💔
What’s controversial is - if she had criticized M shadows haha !! I’m protective of my boy
This was a well timed comment. And by that I mean, I was scrolling through the comments and she said that as I came across so your's. So, funny coincidence I guess lol.
I was 1 when jimmy the rev Sullivan died
Some people: "Guitars cant sing"
Synyster Gates: 4:17
You need to watch alip ba ta then
People that say guitars cant sing never listened to the blues lol

A little piece of heaven Live you must see! Showcases the Rev (Old drummer and vocalist this song was for) and M. Shadows voices amazingly! 💙❤️
It would be perfect live at LBC since she's a vocal coach
I do wish people would stop recommending this song to reaction channels and such.... it is a shock piece, but it also tends to put reactors off A7X indefinitely
@@Bookofwords she should react to it but live, cause everyone sings and it doesn't have the impact of the video
@@LuisSilva-lo6ib I mean... i just don't think its a good song for her specifically to react to in my opinion
@@Bookofwords agreed, and you can't hear the words in the live version either. Why people recommend it to people who don't know the song or the band, I don't know
ALSO for some of the backing vocals were from The Rev since they wanted to use them for another ballad.
This song makes me absolutely weep every time, it's so beautiful and full of love
This song is dedicated to Avenged Sevenfold’s drummer who died last 2009. RIP James Sullivan aka Sully. Gone too soon but not forgotten
It was originally written about Syn's grandpa.
This song never fails to make me cry, I get exactly how they felt because I had to deal with he loss of my brother. He suffered so much. The song describes everything so perfectly. A7X one of my favorite bands. Thanks for your reaction to this song
Hahaha here I was, having lunch in public and watching this, thinking “it’s okay, the song won’t get to me this time” and lo and behold, I’m now in tears in public. As soon as he hit the “I love you, you were ready” I was done for.
Awww hugs. What were you eating?
That part just hits so different, I can't stop my tears from falling
1:39 "like there's more to give, more to come, possibly not in this video--"
*Oh she about to get slain at the end.*
The emotion from this song gets me every time. Being a fan of A7X from the beginning, losing Jimmy hit me hard. This tribute to the Rev is beautiful
Me too bro
Matt's had 3 vocal cord surgery's and still sounds amazing even though he cant put as much distortion as he used to...avenged sevenfold is the best band EVER!!
"The future doesn't even exist!"
That got nihilistic fast. Excellent.
I think my favorite part about this video is how she actually did research into the song, i think that this song in particular is very important to know the backstory of
I love how hard you try not to swear when you react, Rebecca
But when you do its so lovely, because thats what music is about - that release of emotion
I rarely ever cry but watching this made me cry, pretty hard too. A7x got me through a lot back in the day.
He was the best of the world. Rip
47 seconds in.
If she says anything bad about Avenged Sevenfold I swear to god.
I'm gonna hate her
Don’t worry, all positivity
Tbf theyre definitely not as good as when they had the rev which speaks volume on wht he meant to the band and just how amazing he is
If she does send her to The Rev he’ll handle it
Shark Vlogs And Gaming
That’s rather disrespectful to him
I never get emotional with songs but this one made me tear up. Love these guys, RIP The Rev
Saw the notification and instaclicked. Beautiful song. One of my all time favorites
I love how you engage not just with the technical side of singing, but also with the lyrics and the emotional side. I thought what you said about the main body of the song being almost conversational, like a casual reminiscence of a lost friend among other friends, was really insightful.
I'd love to see you react to a couple of tracks (I hope suggesting two isn't some sort of commenting taboo!):
- Bent Knee - Holy Ghost (Live at Record Co.)
- Leprous - Slave (Live at Rockefeller Music Hall)
im so sorry but its been over 10 years for me and i completely forgot The Rev passed away. thank you for reminding me of such a sweet drummer. i cant believe i forgot. thank you.
casey? James, or Jimmy is his name?..
@@mysk6977 i honestly have no idea why i said casey 🤣
Jimmy is missed, that song has such an emotional weight
RIP the rev
I just wanna to see your react to (Avenged Sevenfold - A Little Piece Of Heaven)
P.Y.P GAMING Eat it eat it!
Come here you bitch!
that was funny, but honestly that one part in the song in the chorus is very very pretty, and matts voice is amazing
No, please don't. She can't handle it
Definitely my favorite A7X song. Sadly haven't found a karaoke bar that has it yet
Awesome song!!! Very cool and I love your reactions.
You MUST react to God Hates Us live at Rock am Ring 2011 by Anenged Sevenfold. That was M.Shadows' (the singer) voice at its absolute peak. You're going to love it!
Giorgos Daispyros was thinking this too!
I third that!
It gives me chills!! Love it
I was so confused with the Hugh Grant scene, at first I thought it was an ad and I was looking to skip it 😂😂
Yes, what was that
You are not the only one. Haha
@@amandahallman7931 that was a scene from a movie called "four weddings and a funeral". If that is what you were asking.
It pops up in her videos every once in awhile. I think its just a weird way to avoid copywrite infringement.
I had a friend, he was a drummer as well, we both loved this band and many more, he sadly passed away so this always makes me cry. RIP Donaven.
The most beautiful rock tribute to a great man. Has me in tears every time even after 1000+ listens. 😢 🖤
I Have the chance to see AVENGED SEVENFOLD IN THE HAIL TO THE KING TOUR AND THIS SONG WAS AMAZING PLUS EMOTIONAL . I Remember that in the guitar 🎸 solo at the End they spot a part of the stage with a purple light in REMEMBER of THE REV . I know this song means a lot for the BAND . Thank you Rebecca for another wonderful song 🙋🏻♂️🎸🎤🎼!
Anyone suggest she listen to "Wont see You Tonight Part 1" yet
This whole band is very talented, theres so many songs you could listen to to see so. If you wanna see a good live show watch their Live in the LBC show
I listen to that whole show so frequently. LOVE it
This song almost brings me to tears every time I hear it. I’ve loved this band since I was young and knowing the meaning behind it is heartbreaking
8:28 "It was rich, soo much emotional and love" yes indeed, because this song is a farewell song for the loved one they lost
Still. Adoring. And introduced my social lady to you! Shes got a lady crush!
I can never make it through that snare line without my eyes watering
This song always gets me teary eyed The Rev was an incredible drummer and so beloved by the rest of the band he was a once in a lifetime talent M Shadows has one of the best modern rock voices in my opinion Hail To The King by Avenged would be cool
Jimmy “the rev” sullivan was the reason I started drumming, a true legend can’t listen to this song without shedding a tear to this day. #foREVer
If you want to hear more of M. Shadows's voice, i suggest checking out Victim, Set Me Free, or really any song from the Nightmare album
Rip Jimmy.
You have a very gifted voice! I wish I had one likes yours-
You do too
@@rva ah no I don't lol
I'm so happy you've done one of my favourite bands 🤟 if you want to hear both Matt and Jimmy sing you gotta check out Little Piece of Heaven, Rev actually had a really good voice as well as being an insane drummer
Rebecca I would love to see you on Britain's got talent. I'd vote for you a hundred times using all my secret accounts.
Awww thanks so much
One of the most unique, and original band. Such a powerful voice. By far top 3 for me.
Me too
I went to see them live.
P.S. Love the videos by the way!
(Sorry for the Edit)
"A Little Piece of Heaven" started out as a simple melody on a piano from the ex-drummer.
Always been my favorite
It’s hilarious! “ I always knew my lil dish …”
And yes this is true
She made a video about it recently
He’s not the ex drummer by any means.. he’s no longer living tho he’ll always be the drummer of a7x
@@creaturex5705 I was about to type the same thing. My brother died (exactly 10 years after Rev) that doesn't make him my ex brother. He will always be my brother.
"Oh nice guitar" yeah that one's a special one, For the drummer, For Rev. This song is by far my favourite regardless of their other amazing songs. This touches all of us, Even more so if you ever got to see it live.
Damn... I cried again... all these years later and I still cry. Nice reaction.... RIP forever Rev!!
She has to be infatuated with him..... Aren't we all
Looks like Mike Patton has some competition.
Boris Johnson you’re so right lol.
Absolutely 😍
as someone who can only listen to this song when nobody's around because i'll scream if it gets interrupted, this was very difficult for me to watch... but it was also so worth it
One of my favourite a7x songs.
Such raw emotion layed down in a perfect way!!! M shadows (the lead singer) has such a beautiful but powerful voice!! Please do more reviews of this band. I recommend checking out "seize the day"
You earned yourself +1 subscriber pretty lady 👍🏻
Syns second solo in this song always makes me emotional it feels like he pours his heart into playing it
