- This will be my last video with Bambino being my main machine. It’s been a great little machine to learn on but it’s time to take my espresso game to the next level! After moving to a new house with my wife i figured what a great time to also start a new espresso chapter 😁

Love your videos. Just ordered a jx pro. What setting do you use on the pro when pulling a shot on your bambino?
I came back to his channel to ask a similar question. I’ve put off getting the jx pro but I’m pretty certain I want to buy it for my bambino also. Did you figure out how to dial it in? I’m intimidated by that part lol

Hey Charlie! Thanks for all your videos! I've been researching which machine to get, and your videos helped me narrow it down to the Bambino. I mostly drink milky espresso drinks, and didn't want to spend more than that on a machine, so it seems like a good fit for me. Now, being a coffee lover who knew nothing about how to actually make espresso, after I started doing some research, I went down rabbit hole of coffee youtube channels, and have learned so much already! Can't wait to put it all to practice. My machine arrives next week, and I already added a non-pressurized basket to my order. I'm thinking of getting a bottomless portafilter and for sure a new distributor/temper to up my game. Have you noticed a big (positive) difference going from the pressurized basket and aluminum portafilter to non pressurized and upgrading the portafilter? Or do you think that considering the machine doesn't have very advanced functions to mess with in terms of pulling your shot, is all of that stuff wasted on the machine? Thank you for all the videos! Well the machine is awesome and hits so high above it’s price class you are gonna love it! First tip highly recommend is pulling an empty shot to heat up your ports filter it really does make a big difference! And puck prep is always a must for pulling great shots! Keep me updated on your espresso journey, would love to hear how it’s going:)
Hi Charlie ~ I just got the Bambino and your videos have been quite helpful. I have a question about the portafilter. Mine is EXTREMELY hard to turn to lock in place with the filter baskets it came with. If I insert it without the filter it locks in place quite easy. I’m wondering if it starts out super tight and gets easier with use. Also those filter baskets do not come out at all unless I pry them out with a butter knife. It seems like they would be easier to remove. Thanks for any insight.
The rubber gasket does give over time the more you use it. And the basket is tight and I usually will pry it out with another basket so I don’t hurt myself lol

Really glad to hear that! The whole channel started because there was no content on it and I knew it was gonna be a great machine. And yeah I am also leaving them the jx pro because I think they make a great pairing! And you’ll have to see pretty soon 😉

Hey Gino that’s so awesome to hear I’m glad I could be of help and enjoy it. It definitely a great little capable machine! And yeah it does have a tendency to leave pucks set since there is no three way solenoid valve
I have been following you since you got your Bambino. It so happened that I had bought mine a few weeks before. Congratulations on your new Lelit. I have a question about custom pre-infusion on the Bambino non-plus. As you probably know, this type of pre-infusion is possible on all, or almost all, Brevilles, by holding the one or two-shot button for as long as you want to. When I do it on my Bambino it doesn't work! I actually talked about this with Breville's customer support not long after I bought the machine. The tech guy told me the Bambino doesn't have this function. At that point, I had not read in the Bambino manual that you can actually do a "manual pre-infusion," as they call it. I just did a few days ago. I am now thinking that my Bambino is either defective in that way, or they made a mistake on the manual. Did you ever try this manual pre-infusion? Did it work?
I just saw the date of your unboxing of your Mara X, it was almost six months ago, not so new anymore. Quite a jump...
Thanks for the support! Sorry to hear about your experience My bambino had the feature where you would just press down the brew button for the amount of time for pre infusion. Hope that can get resolved soon.

Does the leveler also work as a tamp? Or did you just not tamp this shot?
It comes with both on each side so it’s pretty convenient
to properly answer your question, no. after he used the OCD tool he did not tamp. hence the way over extraction. not enough resistance under pressure.

also he’s going too fine, he said he likes his shots like 30-40 sec which is 😳 very over extracted, you want your espresso to land between 25-30sec and 1:2-1:2.5 should be the ratio used for dose in dose out
Do you know if base Bambino has a 3-way solenoid valve?
Unfortunately it does not, but that does not stop it from making great espressos
