* As you can (not) see in this video, part 2 of Latenna’s sidequest (which consists of a scene in which she talks to you as you approach the Frozen River in Mountaintops of the Giants) should have happened in this video, but it didn’t. According to the official guide of the game, it is only required to complete part 1 of her sidequest (which I have done properly on video 033) for part 2 to occur, but she didn’t appear regardless. Upset as I was, I did some research on the web and the only explanation I saw was that it’s a glitch that came with patch 1.10 (the one under which I’m recording these videos). I tried to contact BNEA for technical support, but they didn’t seem to care about much. I then decided to load an older game file for a failed attempt for a recorded gameplay, in which I stopped in Nokstella, went straight to kill Morgott and marched forth to northeast of Ancient Snow Valley Ruins and… part 2 of Latenna’s sidequest did happen. Certain that I must have done something to disable part 2 of Latenna’s sidequest, I started doing some research of my own, reloading my older file and doing some key events to discover what was causing the so-called glitch in Latenna’s sidequest and found out this: 1) Fulfilling Ranni’s sidequest (and thus acquiring Dark Moon Greatsword) WILL PREVENT you from witnessing part 2 of Latenna’s sidequest (she won’t appear in Mountaintops of the Giants) and it was the only explanation I have found out for this fact; 2) Fulfilling Fia’s sidequest (and thus defeating Lichdragon Fortissax and acquiring the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince) WILL NOT prevent you from witnessing part 2 of Latenna’s sidequest (she will appear in Mountaintops of the Giants); 3) Advancing Millicent’s sidequest to part 6 (as shown in this video) WILL NOT prevent you from witnessing part 2 of Latenna’s sidequest; 4) Betraying Melina and joining the Three Fingers WILL NOT prevent you from witnessing part 2 of Latenna’s sidequest. All of the discussed above is also applicable to part 3 of Latenna’s sidequest (which consists of a scene in which she talks to you as you cross Consecrated Snowfields, shortly after leaving Hidden Path to the Haligtree), which will be depicted on video 117 (she won’t also appear there for the same reason she didn’t in this video). I don’t know if this phenomenom is in fact a glitch that came after patch 1.10 or if it was corrected after the DLC updates (I’m still recording these videos under patch 1.10 and will only update my Elden Ring file on my PS5 after I finish the entire playthrough for the base game) or if it was always supposed to happen this way, but even without parts 2 and 3 taking place, part 4 of Latenna’s sidequest will still happen.
