  • Robin Hood is back with his gang of outlaws to do battle with the dark forces of the Sheriff of Nottingham, who has recently murdered Robin Hood's father and stolen his family land in lieu of "back taxes". Robin and friends are forced into Sherwood forest and a life of poverty. Robin Hood's skill with a bow and sword allow them to raid the Sheriff's castle whenever needed. Not content with this life of crime, Robin Hood pleads with his friends to join him and overthrow the Sheriff once and for all. However, the Sheriff has plans of his own for Robin. In a stunning move, the Sheriff and his henchmen kidnap Lady Marian and hold her prisoner. In one last and desperate battle Robin Hood leads an assault upon Nottingham Castle to rescue his love, and bring balance back to England. Will the King return in time?
Filming and editing on this picture took three years. Shot and edited entirely on 16mm film. This movie premiered in 1994 at the Princess Theater in Decatur, Alabama. The writer and director was 15 years old and still in middle school.
This is the only American made independent film about Robin Hood. Please see IMDB for trivia and details: www.imdb.com/ti...

I loved this film. Everyone involved in its production did an amazing job. It takes years of hard work and long hours in the making of any film to give us 1-2 hours of entertainment. I always recognize and appreciate this. Loved the costumes and filming locations. It made me wish I was an actor in this film. I especially like the actor who played Robin Hood. He was given a gift and hopefully pursued it for a career. Thanks for sharing this film, I thoroughly enjoyed it. 👍🙏❤️🇨🇦

2020: In Bayeaux, France I visited the historical tapestry with tales of conquests by Brits. The church of Jean de Arc town; Reims; Mont Saint Michel in Normandy, as well as “Town Faires”are great events. Take a bus ride to Monets home in Giverny. This holy land is blessed every where you walk. Take a trip by bus as it’s not to be missed. It is also a beautiful place to retire in Britany, FR. The cobble streets still exist.

Sadly the comment section seems to be full of "Nerf Knights" you know those guys that run around ren fairs acting like the world foremost authority on all things medieval while carying a sword made of pool noodles an duct tape.
Having worked on a few indie projects, I can tell you this is better than a lot I've seen and most importantly it saw it's way to completion... very impressive for a 15 year old, especially given what was available to work with in 1994.

    WONDERFUL achievement!
Thrilling stuff and the icing on the cake was the marvellous music, so carefully timed and placed to match the scenes,
and OF COURSE Robin of the Hood was a real character, anyone who says different should be boiled in oil. I've been to his grave near
Kirk Leyes Priorie, Wyste Yorkes Shire, Englande, the place where he was treacherously murdered! A very moving experience!

Good eye, as no real archer places his finger over top of the arrow, and lets it go. Many didn't know how to draw a bow. That was seen many times within the movie. I also doubt, "fiberglass bows" were made in jolly England during that time of this story. For an off the shoulder movie, it could have been made far better, but on a low budget...it's okay.

Good movie but based on the Tudors fantasy version of Robin Hood, not the real man. The original ballards point Robin's life in the reign of King Edward II, not Richard the Lionheart, and Robin was a yeoman, basically a lowborn free man, not a noble. And he did exist, A man named Robert Hoode of Wakefield, Yorkshire is listed in the court rolls of Wakefield, he was outlawed by Edward for being part of the rebellion of Edward's cousin, Thomas of Lancaster. Thomas lands encompassed both Yorkshire and Nottingham, and Robin spent time in both Barnsdale Forrest in Yorkshire and Sherwood in Nottingham. He was thought to be buried at Kirklees Abbey in Yorkshire although his remains nor grave site have ever been found.

    • @johnkling9079

@@JWHIIIProductions I couldn't find a whole lot of info on imdb. A little in the trivia section but not much. Just a few things i'm curious about mostly:
      1. It said on imdb it took 3 years, why so long? How long did the filming itself take?
      2. Was this sort of a community effort? As in sets, costumes, props, and all the logistics involved. Did people just kinda volunteer, or did you need a budget big enough to hire people and buy whatever was needed and such.
      3. How did the whole project come about about? Did you think it would be as big as it was when you first set out or did it just end up growing?
If you choose to answer all that then thanks for your time! If not its all good, i'm sure you have better things to do lol.

Sure, yes it took 3 years from start to finish from writing the script to finding the actors and crew. A community effort yes, but mostly an effort among friends. We did not have a large budget, so part of the reason it took so long was because we could only afford to go at that pace. A sort of "pay as you go" scenario. In addition, we had to make sure everyone's schedule matched up before we could shoot. To be honest we were lucky to have been able to complete it. And no, I did not know what to expect at all.

Good job for a young lad, should have stopped the extras staring into the camera though.

Just interested to know more about the production. Who saw a 15 year old kid with a script and said Yes, I want to fund this film? This movie is just begging for a behind the scenes documentary.

Richard's brother, John, seized the throne, not the sheriff of Nottingham, I take it this is only loosely based on the story.

    • @JWHIIIProductions
      @JWHIIIProductions  2 роки тому +1

Hello. There is no official story. Yes we took many liberties with this because we wanted to shake up the myth a bit. In addition, John never illegally took the throne from Richard, although he had designs for doing so. When Richard died in 1199, John legally ascended to the throne.
