he is the AFL's michael jordan, boxing mahummad ali, baseballs babe ruth and a little bit more by far and away the greatest player our game has ever seen
The mark against Collingwood at 25:48 ... 😲😲I was at this game with my brothers and have no recollection of this!! 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ That's one of his best marks ever!!! According to AFL Tables, that was 08/06/87 and Gazza had 15 kicks, 6 marks and 2 handballs for 4.2. @xtremeactionvideos, can you possibly upload that mark in another video and have the lead-up plus let the footage go a bit longer afterwards so we can hear more crowd reaction plus the commentary? Thanks very much for this compilation as well!! 👍
Trust ABC to ruin the mark. A photographer took a pic behind the goals which I've seen and it truly is a sensational screamer. This footage doesn't do it justice. Remember David Cloke is 6 foot 5 and Ablett had both knees on his shoulders.
@stuartcallaghan3285 Pity ABC ruined it. 3 times in 1987 they did this with Ablett Snr. This screamer, a mark vs Sydney at Kardinia Park and another vs North at MCG.
Years ago, a friend of mine was given a tape from someone at channel 7. It was the video that came out with Gazza playing at Whoreforn and finished in '91 I think. A mate and myself went though our videos and added the rest of his games to it, including all of his big hits. I have a chest of videos that I really should put on to dvd.
@SuperGazza5 The tape which starts in 1982 playing for Haw and finishes in 1990, I have it on VHS and DVD. It goes on for around 60 minutes. When I first saw it back in 1992 the footage was in average bootleg quality.
I'm glad Gary Ablett did not stay at Hawthorn, because if he had stayed they would have most likely won every premiership during the 80's and maybe eearly 90's
Ablett claimed difficulty coping with city life in Melbourne and his continual absenteeism from training sessions forced Hawthorn coach, Allan Jeans into parting ways with the talented, but wayward young half forward.
30:56 off the half back flank from a centre bounce! Outrageously good
Thanks mate. No one can put together a highlights compilation like you.
21:00 One of his best goals.
I almost preferred watching him play on the wing. Almost. He had fantastic, explosive running skills.

You said it. He was a god 💯 could do it all. Every attribute he was the best at.
Viv Richards of Aussie Rules.
Scary thing is…he’s not even the best footballer in his family
Most Exciting AFL player Ever😊
No one better to watch in full flight. Most complete footballer to play Aussie Rules.
This is the first time I've seen highlights of his hawthorn days
geezturf tech has come a long way. And RIP Paul Couch, what a player he was, very under rated.
The very last highlight of this compilation; Couch just completely bamboozles two opponents on the boundary line, wonderful player.
Couchy was a superstar
City end goals watching the Gazza show, over to the Clarendon for a few....home for Hey Hey and a big night at the Wool Exchange..miss it all so much.
14:10 soccer skills of this freakish champ.
How many goals on his left, his non preferred? Unbelievable skill.

Sorry, only have the highlights that feature in this video of that game, not the full match

@@xtremeactionvideos OK - understood and no worries. Appreciate all the hard work in making these compilations
Brilliant! I've got a 4 1/2 hour video of his highlights, and some of these aren't on it.
Hi, what Ablett Snr highlights do you have? I have been collecting since the 90s. Thanks.
I taped every game, interview, and news clip from about '89 onwards. You've probably got everything that I have if you were collecting for that long.

@@jonburrows9816 no need t9 trade mate. When I get it all on dvd, I'll be happy to just give them to you
The best were the goals in the state of origin at footy park....the sound of silence and awe in the ground was great.
Right up there with the greatest f...ups in football history letting God go to Geelong

The Michael Jordan of footy. Well, more like Michael Jordan was the Gary Ablett of basketball.
Could you imagine the 80s if Ablett had not left the Hawks?
Can you imagine the 2000s if he hadn't?
Imagine if Williams, Toohey And Bolton didnt leave geelong
@@davidcollins8574Especially Greg Williams.
Hawthorn father son
Did i see Dipper in the 2's in the first clip?

God himself
He is a great person lol
How come HAWTHORNE, MOVED HIM ON
Ablett claimed difficulty coping with city life in Melbourne and his continual absenteeism from training sessions forced Hawthorn coach, Allan Jeans into parting ways with the talented, but wayward young half forward.
He also had priors and jeans was an old police chief who knew the ablett families crime history.
Jacko must have hated ablett! Haha!
Because Ablett stood on his shoulders and head on countless occasions.
Calling him jeff Ablett in the state game.. lm sure no one ever made that mistake again after he kicked 6.. haha
